We recommend allowing 3 hours before tucking in to our cakes allowing them to return to room temperature. “Bought this for my cat mad friend and her daughter who has had a liver transplant. Extremely disappointed with it. Lemon drizzle cake was dry as were the scones. The jam is so runny you couldn't have kept it on the scone. She said the only thing that tasted okay were the brownies. I certainly wouldn't recommend this to anyone. My friend said it was a waste of money. I'd have been better getting something from our local garden centre.”

“Utter rubbish. Avoid. The personalised message which was on the order was missing!! Cake didn't taste fresh either. Use Humming Bird. As a company we will no longer be purchasing cakes via Cutter and Squidge!”

Hi, Thank you for your review, I understand you have been dealing with our customer service team. Unfortunately with your order you did not pay for the personalisation and therefore it was not included on the cake. We delivered the product that was paid for, and your request for a full refund was not agreed as we did not feel that a full refund was the appropriate resolution to this matter. If we had missed the personalisation from the cake for which you had paid, we would of course refunded that part of the cost immediately or provided a new cake. However, as explained in our exchange of emails, there was no service for which a refund was due as payment was not received. We note you have not replied to our last email to you. We use the finest all natural ingredients and bake our cakes fresh daily, as the temperature gets colder outside we do advise on the cake care to leave the cake to get up to room temperature. The chocolate squidge cake is one of our most beloved cakes, so we are disappointed to hear your feedback. We are a family run small business so appreciate all of our customers. Kindest, Team C&S

“Delivery came as guests on the way home. I had to go to a local supermarket to get my own cakes. Also very poor quality for the price”

Hi Cathy, Thank you for your review, unfortunately the delivery option chosen on checkout was 8am-8pm, we advise if you need it for a certain time to either have it delivered the day before or to choose our priority service. We are sorry to hear that you did not feel the quality was reflective of the price. Our products are all handmade by our experienced bakers and contain no artificial flavours, colours. We use British butter, flour and source as many other ingredients from British suppliers.

“I really like Cutter and Squidge, normally the quality is amazing but these cookies had such a bizarre taste. We tried oven heating them and they still tasted unpleasant. I would still recommend other items from the menu but just not these cookies.”

“I have shopped several times with you and have always been satisfied. You have even made deliveries as far as Oxford in your refrigerated van. This time Bickkis were ordered for someone’s birthday The delivery failed as it was claimed that there wasn’t a reply at the door. This is impossible as the flat has a post room where all parcels and post are left. I then had to pay additional £25:00 for a retry. I was very upset as the van driver did not clearly go the right address. This has really changed my opinion about your business. The whole episode left me very disappointed . It will be difficult to change my mind. SO I RATE THIS EXPERIENCE AS VERY POOR”

“Didn't received the item from the delivery company, they said they attempted but we wasn't in - we was in the entire day! Nobody buzzed all day. They then wanted to charge £25 for re-delivery. I emailed and no reply.”

“This was a present for someone. Your delivery service was terrible. Firstly, the person was present at home and I was told by the delivery company no one was home. Secondly, the driver said they called my number. I have no missed calls. Third, to reschedule the delivery I had to make several calls and pay on top of that. The customer service was helpful but I still don’t see the reason is paying double to get these delivered.”

“The item not delivered despite contact at point of delivery when driver was asked to leave with a neighbour, this was refused. No refund even though for a 30th birthday of an ICU dr Fighting covid.”

“Its was horrible. So the day before my wedding like 10 hrs before they phoned me asking if i want to get my cake on time i have to pay extra £10.10 for delivery which i already payed £10. The restaurant open 10 am. So i requested a 10-12 pm. I dont think a bride deserved a stress 10 hrs before the wedding. And demanding extra cost or else i wont have my cake on my wedding day. Horrible experience!”

Hi, Thank you for your e-mail. I am so sorry that you felt stressed out after our call. However, our customer service team went out of their way to arrange this cake for you, from calling the restaurant ourselves to make sure someone was there to receive the cake so it was delivered successfully and on time, to arranging a non standard delivery slot. On your order you put a note to say "deliver the folly between 11-12pm wedding cake" which we immediately called you about as you had chosen our standard 8-12 slot which meant it could turn up any time between that point. We do not offer a 1 hour delivery time because London traffic is so unpredictable, which is why we called you to arrange a more suitable delivery option for you. We note on our wedding cakes that if you wanted a specific timing of delivery to e-mail or call us. I am sorry again you felt stressed however, we did everything we could to ensure your wedding cake arrived successfully and on time. We feel very disappointed with your review as we went above and beyond with your order.

“It gives me great disappointment that I am having to write to you. We have been purchasing cakes from you for several years. Cutter and Squidge do the best cakes without denial and my sister is always adamant that she wants cakes made by you, for her birthday every year. This is however the first occasion that the cake was delivered to me. I understand that it is a difficult time. The cost of receiving the cake was exceptionally high and unfortunately the sponge was very dry. I also understand that this is very unusual for your company however I must admit I have been left rather dissatisfied on this occasion. I hope that we are able to come to a solution. I look forward to hearing from you.”
