“We were all unfortunately disappointed with the cake. The icings were very dense and overly sweet, and not balanced with any light cake or freshness, so eating the cake felt like eating a slice of overly sweet, hard icing. The cake was delivered on a warm day (unrefrigerated for >12hrs), so all the petals were wilted and a few turned brown which was also disappointing after the beautiful pictures and our high expectations. We unfortunately will not be purchasing again from Cutter and Squidge”

“Normally I recommend Cutter and Squidge to everyone, the Potion Room is fabulous. However, this review is for the Hello Kitty afternoon tea box. Blondies were dry, crunchy and not at all fudgey as well as being far too sweet. The chocolate caramel cake was too rich and heavy and again, far too sweet and the scones tasted stale and dry despite being warmed. Between the two of us we had maybe a few bites of each before it was abandoned, very sickly. I’m afraid to say, a terrible waste of money and a huge disappointment.”

“They tried to deliver this cake to a restaurant at 8.30am, and I had to pay an extra £25 to have it redelivered later the same day! The online order form did not allow me to choose a time, so I made it very clear in the notes that the delivery was to a restaurant and specified that it opened at 6pm. The cake was for a 40th birthday party so time sensitive! Cutter and Squidge didn't contact me before to check delivery, answer the phone or reply to any emails. In the end it was the delivery company themselves (a separate company) who helped me have it redelivered in time after a lot of stress.”

“Difficult to give an opinion. The cakes were gifts but I’m told they were lovely. Delivery of the cakes was excellent. The biscuits appear to have gone down a black hole”

“I purchased an afternoon tea for my sister’s birthday. It came two days late and to add insult to injury, the delivery guy left it outside the house on top of the rubbish bin. :(”

“Very poor the cakes and scones were stall and the jam was mouldy! Ordered this for my fathers 92nd birthday as he also couldn’t go our due to covid 19. I wanted to make his birthday special under these circumstances. Very disappointing and a total let down.”

“Appalling, ordered in plenty of time for delivery only to find out the recipient would not receive until 3 days after the delivery date. I alerted Cutter & Squidge about this after receiving an email from the courier, their excuse was needed an additional delivery day due to destination. My postal code wasn’t highlighted as needing an extra time for delivery. I’ve also had to chase up my refund. If I could give 0 star rating I would have, wouldn’t use again or recommend.”

“Order was not delivered despite being home, was asked to pay another £9 for redelivery which I declined to do as it is unreasonable. Initially I received very quick/proactive response on email but since I did not agree to paying again and requested a refund I am being ignored. Incredibly poor customer service.”

“I was very excited when I ordered the cake truffles but I can confirm we were thoroughly disappointed. It did not taste nice what so ever. What a waste of money spent as we threw most it away after trying a bit of each.”

“Very expensive delivery at £9 even more if the person you send it to is out and they charge a total £18 for delivery. When I pointed this out, I was told I’d receive a £15 voucher, asked for it to be added to my friends present and they never received it. Useless!”

“Extremely unhappy with the size of the cakes sent in the afternoon tea and the fact the brownies were shockingly dry. I messaged yourselves privately via Instagram explaining I'm an unhappy customer as the cake slices look nothing like the ones you have in your pictures of the afternoon tea. My message was read, and ignored. No reply was given whatsoever. I then commented on the Afternoon Tea post, again explaining I'm unhappy with paying almost £30 for something which is less than satisfactory. This message was also ignored. Appalling customer service from Cutter & Squidge.”
