Far from being a reputable delivery service, recent experience has suggested to me that DPD might be an elaborate joke, or perhaps a social experiment created with the intent of establishing how far a person's endurance might be pushed through sheer exasperation. This is a long review, summarised way below, if you do not wish to read the full catalogue of nonsense. DPD twice apparently attempted to deliver a parcel to me, only once leaving a note to say so, providing a tracking number. Having succeeded in tracking it online, I discovered that said parcel was to be delivered to a pharmacy for me to pick up; one with business hours which did not coincide with a time I could reach them (namely Monday-Friday, during hours when I was at work out of town.) Seemingly the concept of commuting, common in this country for perhaps 150 years, is not one which DPD are aware of. Additionally hilariously, the phone number they had for me was not functional, having been provided with it by my mobile phone network - and DPD were delivering a phone inextricably linked with that SIM, which was lying useless in my home. This problem alone was not the fault of DPD. I was able to talk to a member of DPD staff, using a phone number which is not publicised on their website, to rearrange delivery of the parcel on the next Saturday. It took three attempts to confirm that this was done, having twice been put on hold and not phoned back, as custom and good business sense might dictate. When I checked their tracker on Saturday, however, the computer system linked to it was down, and DPD could not provide me with an intelligible answer - over perhaps three calls - whether it might be delivered to me that day. I was wrongly told that there might be a delay in my recieving email notification that the parcel was on its way; rather, I received no message at all. They could not even tell me whether it has been "scanned into" the van, or indeed off it when I called again later that day. DPD stole a day of my precious free time by insisting that I stayed at home to pick up a parcel which they could not confirm the existence of, and never arrived - one which I could not pick up from their depot after a day of non-delivery, it further transpired. During the course of this fiasco, a DPD employee assured me that he would call me back that afternoon on my landline, and did not. In a further hilarious twist, it has emerged when re-arranging delivery that DPD cannot add additional contact numbers for a person to their system. Eventually I was notified by further email that my parcel had been delivered to the shop I could not reach. Fortunately, my partner was going to work later than usual one day shortly afterwards, and would be able to pick it up for me, or so I thought. Having received a strong dose of nonsense already, I phoned DPD to check whether this would be feasible, only to be told that as per their protocol, for someone to pick it up they would have to have the same surname as me, and carry a bewildering array of identification. Not even a council letter with both of our names, and the same address would be enough; government-mandated acceptance of cohabitation, it seems, was not good enough for DPD, who insist that a person must either be married or a ward of their parents to be worthy of their service! One must either conform to their morals or be defrauding the authorities. I was given the lame excuse that this was due to data protection; it cannot, for this has nothing to do with the processing of personal information or the security of data. The fact that other services such as Parcel Force would see this as more than enough ID was brushed aside, and although admitting that this system was flawed, that this issue is a common occurrence, the call handler professed to be unable to do anything because it was a protocol, a holy and untouchable thing he could do nothing about beyond ask that I complain myself - which I declined in light of how much of my time DPD had already wasted. (In light of the irony of mentioning this in a complaint I should add that it is being written on my commute, having finished my book.) In the end, my partner was able to pick up the package, having called the shop who were happy to accept the identification and documents we could arrange. It transpires, then, that DPD has a call centre staffed with persons who know nothing of their own processes. They were particularly amused by the arrival of a parcel festooned with handwritten labels stating that it was to be delivered Saturday, and to my home. In short, if you wish to have parcels lost, experience dreadful customer service (perhaps 1/4 call handlers were helpful, although those who were could only be called exceptional), and see the folly of an excessively bureaucratic organisation operating at weekends but excepting its IT staff from this duty (they fixed the tracking system early on a Monday, suggesting a minor, and perhaps easily corrected fault), I recommend DPD with every fibre of my body. Otherwise don't bother with having anything to do with this farcical organisation.

Is DPD a photographic service or a delivery service. For the forth time this year I have a photo of my front door but no attempted delivery - what is this and how are you allowed to get away with this. When I reported this I got no interest and I was told that I was not in - I was and there was no attempted delivery as I am in a one bedroomed flat with working door bell. Dishonest and unreliable - Do not use DPD !

Not only did you fail to deliver my "next day delivery" on Friday,Ive had to wait until Monday and then I have just stood and watched your driver pull up and the end of my driveway, take a picture and NOT EVEN BOTHER TO WALK 10 YARDS TO KNOCK ON MY FRONT DOOR. Two days I have now wasted waiting for this delivery.

Never again ! DPD apparently tried to deliver parcel on two different occasions (when I was in!) - no card no door bell, nothing. Chased this up and parcel now 'lost' !! Customer Services useless, rude and disinterested. Asked to talk to supervisor and eventually talked to someone who would not give their name and who was extremely confrontational and rude with me before hanging up on me. If their job is to abuse and lose customers then they have succeeded. Terrible company - AVOID

Totally useless. I paid for a redelivery at a day convenient to me and they never turned up and pretended they had tried and no one was in. Wasted my time and my money.

If I could leave a 0 star I would! We had a delivery come today, never once did we hear the driver knock on the door (4 of us were in the house!) suddenly the dog started to bark my partner went to see why to find the delivery driver was in our house!! He had opened the door and let himself in! This is massively unacceptable. There’s no porce or anything to give anyone a reason to think it’s ok to open my front door and walk into my home!! Will NOT be using nor recommending this service to anyone! When asking the driving what he was doing he just replied ‘sign here please’!

Courier delivered parcel under wrong adress, wrong street, only house number was the same. 10 minutes after searching for my parcel that "Has been delivered" even tho im at home and noone knocks at the doors im calling to DPD for any information. After spending 25 minutes being put on hold i forced myself to download DPD app. Apparently with it you can cut the line and suddenly be more important then others. I asked advisor to contact with driver to pick up my parcel from where he left it, at the beginning there was no contact with the driver, after a while they "allegedly" reach him and told him to pick it back. After 5 hours i recall again and asked whats going on, apparently it hasnt been picked so I intended to raise an investigation and to get the parcel back. After 4 days since raising investigation I found it by myself way quicker than DPD retriving crew...completely devastated by weather, the headset that was in it doesnt work anymore and I wonder how long it will take to get my money back from you, not mentioning the new RE-ORDERED one...

Yet another let down by DPD - parcel left at a different address on a different day and now it's gone missing and DPD refuse to help. Their customer service is terrible and they do not seem to want to help, they are disinterested and do not seem to listen...they seem thick but when and if you can talk to their supervisors you see where they learn their approach. How are their staff allowed to be so rude when apparently the calls are monitored. Their director should be sacked as reading these reviews this seems a common experience. I have been let down many times by DPD and now will refuse to use any company that uses DPD...Totally unreliable, rude, abusive and dysfunctional company that should not offer the services that they cannot honour. Useless - I suggest you do not use them.

I hope this review helps you, as I wish I had researched DPD before ordering. My high value package delivered the wrong day (although a delivery date was agreed on AND confirmed via email). The package was left in front of the building door and not in front of the house door as specified... package is obviously nowhere to be found. And the customer service (on top of being extremely unpleasant) is not able to help or redirect me to anyone who can.

Never again. Paid for door to door delivery from London to Lyon, France. Parcel was never delivered, The plastic container I sent my parcel in was destroyed. My friend had to pick up the parcel from the delivery depot. They claim they made several attempts to deliver and recipient wasn't at the address. It's their word against yours so you can't prove it. They also reject to pay for the damages. You can read the conversation between me and the customer services: 3:18 PMhayk Please use self serve options below where possible or connect to an agent 3:19 PMBrian Hello, you are chatting to Brian. 3:19 PMhayk Hi Brian. AVOID! Disgusting company and when you try to contact them to resolve the issue, you’ve no chance. First the live chat guy sent me a link that doesn’t work, 2nd the email I sent to customer services was ignored twice, 3rd the email address for someone who’ll ‘sort things for you’ bounced back because it’s not recognised and 4rth customer service phone number when eventually answered was the most useless shittiest handler known to man, kept telling me to contact customer services! Who Tf am I phoning? I communicated with this company every single way you can and absolutely no outcome other than me feeling utter rage

Absolutely Terrible. Ive tried having my parcel delivered 4 times and they've all failed with different excuses. Spoke to someone at the depot who was passive aggressive and rude over the phone. I asked to make a formal complaint and was met with hostility. Still have yet to receive my parcel and apparently be phoned back to resolve the whereabouts of my parcel. Ive been told that the best way to get my parcel is to visit the depot and collect in person despite paying for delivery and the driver failing to even show up twice, driving past me once and allegedly missing me as I was out.

I never want to use any company that delivers using DPD again - they are absolutely useless and so unreliable. It seems that they are totally in chaos with systems that clearly just don't work. They try to cover this up by lying and being rude to their customers. Their customer services department is just insulting and aggressive. It is obvious that DPD have no respect for their customers and clients and it seems they have little respect for the service that they promise. I have been let down on three of the last four deliveries and this has caused me many problems and much wasted time and money. Are DPD the slightest interested? of course not. They make no effort to put things right or to compensate. They imply that it is the customers fault when things so often go wrong. They are right in as much as the customer or client has trusted them with their service and money when they shouldn't have !! NEVER AGAIN DPD!

By far the most inconvenient, unreliable and terrible parcel service.  I am contacting you guys to locate my parcel since 29/01/19. Since then i haven't got satisfied answer.  All answers are kind a joke. Parcel has been now delayed over 4 working days. I have paid top dollar for your Express service,  is this your top service? I have just gave up on this parcel.  You guys failed in every part. Delivery, communication and locating my parcel.  I have lost my hope. I will never ever recommend your company to anyone. My opinion is based on other parcel service such as FedEx,  Dhl, Tnt, your service is no where near to them .
