“I bought a new MS 250 chainsaw a few weeks ago. It run for few hours one tank of gas. Then I tried to start it a few days ago would not start. Tried this a few times with no luck. Its not even broken in yet. Took it in to the dealer they got it running. Told me it floods easily had many complaints about this. Was not told by the dealer when I bought it is made in China. What junk, if I new that it was made there would never have bought it. I will never by a Stihl chainsaw again. Buyers beware!”
“recently bought a 140 C battery chain saw. The blade dulled after 1 1/2 days of sawing . Was told by the Stihl dealer in Cornwall he couldn't sharpen the chain because of the small chain that came on the electric saw , and that I would have to buy a new chain every time I dulled it at $25.00 each .That works out to a cost of $3.00 per hour to run the saw. I could not find any technical help on the Stihl website”

The chain on the MS 140 C can be sharpened by either yourself or a STIHL Dealer if they choose to offer the service. You can visit stihldealers.ca, to locate another STIHL Dealer in your region or purchase a 2-in-1 File Holder for ¼” picco chain with a 1/8 file (part# 5605 750 4306) and replacement files are part# 0000 893 6401.
“I purchased a FS38 Trimmer in 2020 and it's been nothing but a problem. It was purchased from Pickering Mower and they keep stating all is okay. In 2022 it was in for filter housing as the choke lever broke also in 2022 it was in for a module ignition castiron flywheel. I also complain numerous times the the line was feeding correctly last year but I got tired of their excuses (they would call when they got them in). Now in 2023 we tried starting it and it works for than stops (exactly what it did before we were told to us the High Performance Fuel but same issue. I was hoping for better customer service from Stihl and Pickering Mower.”

Due to the heightened worldwide demand for our products coupled with disruptions in shipping and manufacturing, we are not able to provide our dealerships with the level of inventory they have received in years prior. As stock arrives into our distribution centres backorders are being filled and shipped out to our dealerships. We are working diligently to bring supply back to previous norms.
“I took My BR 700 Blower into my local STIHL dealer to get a carb rebuild two months ago, and they still can't seem to get parts I tried to find the part on this website with no luck the owner's manual does not have a parts list either. When the machine works, it works great, but right now it is just a paper weight. I wish I had bought the 600 model, there seems to be more parts available, I doubt if I would buy a STIHL product again.”

“I would be very cautious buying a STIHL saw. I used STIHL oil, mixed at their recommended ration and have 6 month old $700 blown saw with very limited use that they will not warranty!! I was using two other pieces of two stroke equipment at the same time with same gas etc and no issues. I have had great luck in the past with STIHL products. But it’s the first time dealing with warranty and it is very disappointing. I emailed and spoke with a customer service rep and I am being told to contact the dealer. The dealer says contact Stihl. Stihl again says Contact the dealer. Good luck with any purchases and enjoy well they are running!!”

“had stihl products for a long time had no real problems with them till i bought a new chainsaw 250s worked good for a short time then it has been nothing but problems with it have had in the shop 4/5 times same problem have been waiting on parts for at least 3 weeks a simple diaphram have been told will be in midweek and now have been told they have lost some parts and have to reorder it not sure when will be in it has been almost 3 weeks so this will be the last stihl product for me for the poor service like the product but needed working no good on the shelf waiting on parts”

“Bought the Stihl 800 leaf blower never ran right out of the box Had in shop four times customer service and tech line and warranty or a joke warranty is nonexistent Just get the runaround from customer service and tech line bought in the fall now it’s March in shop torn apart waiting on tech support or parts. Don’t know don’t care not running will not buy another Stihl have 460 and 034 chainsaws and grass whip so disappointed and Stihl selling them all”
“I have had a Kombi System with attachments that help me do things around my yard for years. Here in Winnipeg Mb. Canada we deal with ice on the road and backlanes in the spring. When the melt begins water pools on the backlanes and one must manually chip ice to form a trench for the water to flow toward the storm drain. If I had an ice chipping attachment that I could use on my Kombi it would make life easier. It only has to chip a trench 2 inces wide and if there was a way to also adjust the depth of the cut to prevent chipping the concrete surface I would be happy. Looking forward to the new Stihl Ice Trenching attachment. Thanks Tom.”

“I bought a styhl br700. The throttle handle broke well with in the year warranted. Styhl’s warranty expires once I the unit is paid for. Over the years I’ve sent 10’s of thousand’s on styhl equipment and not once in ten years have they ever covered anything that has gone wrong. Let’s just say this was the straw that broke the camels back. You will never see another nickel from me.”
“I am a sculptor artist, and writing here to express my disappointment with the battery chainsaw MSA 200C that I purchased from Stihl company's Newmarket branch a year ago. After barely using it, I noticed a strange hole, which looked like a burning spot, and a crack underneath the chainsaw. I also observed that the chainsaw was leaking lots of oil.
Upon noticing these issues, I immediately contacted the Newmarket Stihl branch to have the chainsaw replaced. However, I was informed that they could only fix the oil leakage problem, and no mention was made of addressing the burning spot and crack under the chainsaw.
This is unacceptable, especially considering the fact that the chainsaw was defective when I first received it. I am extremely disappointed with Stihl's customer service.
Furthermore, the chainsaw generates an excessive amount of oil when I work with, which is unusual and has not been addressed by the Stihl team. This issue has made it difficult for me to use the chainsaw effectively and cover my sculpture with the oil during the work.”
“So bought a ms271 in 2019, and from and one it had running issues, after 2 carburetor changes still the product is unreliable and a waste of money. I bought stihl because they were a good name and like most products today they turn out to be a great disappointment. I have moved on from stihl and have reliable saw now that have better warranties and craftmanship. Sorry Stihl, I tried but you products are not up to the quality they used to be.”
