“It appears that our old analog movies were projected on a very small screen, such that the digital version has very low resolution. It becomes very pixelated on a screen any bigger than a laptop. This was not how families watch movies together, and we could have done this ourselves with consumer equipment. We expected something better.”

We do know that with older and fading films, they do depreciate over time and the good news is that with digitizing this stops that process. EverPresent also have the option to upgrade to 2K as well if you are interested in that service. Hopefully you can check that service option for your next project.
