This was our 2nd visit this year, only because we got a free visit after our first one. Unfortunately there was no improvement Food - make your own sandwiches !! Buns that were dry and tasteless , no place to make them unless you took the fillings back to your small table All the fillings except for the ham were sloppy and full of mayo. The hot food consisted of a rather dry congealed pasta with tomato or a curry. Unfortunately the rice and the curry never seemed to be there at the same time. For dessert you could choose a minute chocolate muffin or a cream scone. This may have been nice if the scone wasn’t so crumbly making it impossible to assemble yourself. Drinks - no cider, no brandy, no Baileys Only 2 drinks at a time which isn’t helpful if your a party of 3 and the others are elderly and sat down. Seating - the lounge again was overcrowded and we had to wait to be able to sit together. Full of children whose parents were not taking any responsibility for them running around or shouting. So for your money you might as well bring a packed lunch (you have to make your own sandwiches anyway) sit in the bar (you at least get the drink you want) and wait for a seat listening to screaming kids as you will anyway.

Very poor experience. Champagne prebooked was not available. The lounge had many people sleeping across the seats, the lounge resembled a cramped holding centre for travellers, not a nice relaxing experience as advertised and a total waste of money.

Nowhere to sit. Very crowded. No toilets in the lounge. Compared to the lounge at Gatwick it was dreadful.

Waited half an hour at a time to get served at the bar, limited seating and hardly any food. Food was not being restocked. Compliant alrwady lodged with you directly.

menu is very misleading as follows 2 very dried up hot pastas salad bar consisted of lettuce toms onion only no cheeseboard only grated chedder - no crackers or nibbles unless you count peanuts have to make the sandwiches yourself - barms cut in half - no butter plates provided are the size of saucers - 1 sauce for 1/2 a barm cake - absolute joke! very misleading - escape is much better for the same price

The lounge had been over booked so when we arrived people were still trying to get in from hours earlier. It was chaos and the staff were clearly very stressed but taking it out on the customers. We had booked the lounge as a nice start to our honeymoon, by the time we got in we only had around twenty minutes before we had to go to gate and the queue for drinks was huge and there was no food left. The whole thing was a shambles!!

We were really disappointed with the room. Everyone was crammed in and we had to share a table. We use the lounge in terminal 1 all of the time but we will never use terminal 2 again. We pay for space and comfort and you don't get that in this lounge

No newspapers or magazines to read. Food was rubbish. Hardly any at all. What was there was unattractive, cold and overcooked. No fresh milk at coffee stations and no mugs. Had to walk to other stations to find them. . Not particularly clean. Dishes everywhere. Basically £21 for two poor coffees. Complete waste of money..cd have been because we were there mid morning but surely your service shd deliver whatever the time of day.

The food was very disappointing. The website made the lounge out to be a lot better and for what we paid we expected a lot more. The staff in the actual lounge weren't exactly the happiest either. All in all a disappointing first time experience of the lounge

Advertises on their website a wide range of hot food- massive lie! Wide range of no food.Soup is the only hot food you get,you can get crackers and some cheese, scones and crisps! Oh and before we left some rolls were put out to go with the soup, warm rolls with raisins in , they go GREAT with some soup! That’s not a wide range of hot food!Total rip off unless you want to drink loads of alcohol then its all good! My parents treated us to this for start of our honeymoon, we purposely didn’t eat before hand expecting at least more than some soup for our lunch and having previously been to a lounge at Stansted airport , which was a million times better as you had a choice of soup, sandwiches, pasta, salad hot sausage or cheese and onion rolls plus more, we was massively disappointed. We wasn’t expecting a full meal but wow this was rubbish! If you’re going to go here I’d eat beforehand if you’re expecting to get something to eat! The lounge itself was nice,we was just sorely disappointed by the false advertising.

On first arriving at the aspire lounge t1 Manchester there was a large queue of people waiting to be checked in. We was eventually checked in to be greeted by a completely packed out bursting at the seems lounge. There was no tables free whatsoever and the tables that guests were sitting at were completely covered in used plates, empty glasses, used cutlery etc. On visual inspection of your lounge there was clearly not enough staff to rectify this in the slightest. My wife and sister in law was horrified at the condition of this lounge. There was a queue at the bar which had one person serving and the guests had to wait approximately 40 minutes to get a drink. I spoke to a number of guest near the entrance who said they to were appalled at the length of time you had to wait to be served and they were leaving the lounge. There was no food and snacks at all, no plates or cutlery. I find this to be totally unacceptable and complained to the manager. Children were left to run around in a premium lounge and to be perfectly honest it was much quieter out of the lounge. I spoke to the supervisor and he agreed this was not acceptable and that staff morale was at an all time low as they were overworked and understaffed. I have used the aspire lounge on many occasions and this event completely ruined the start of our holiday. We did not stay in the lounge and left after complaining about the environment and asked for a refund. Whilst talking to the supervisor a businessman entered the aspire lounge with his unlimited entrance pass only to be turned away, may I say that he was not happy also. I would like a full refund and compensation for this traumatic start to a well earned holiday. Regards 3 Disgruntled passengers P Fairhurst

Our first of visiting a lounge, it was so busy with barely a seat available, having finally found the only seat left which were high chairs facing the wall, we we went to get warm food only soup available which there was none left, had to ask someone then wait for it, it was them Luke warm at best! Warm glasses to serve cold drinks! Went to get crisps all gone had to ask again & wait! So hardly the pleasant relaxing experience I had hoped for-no where near enough staff the place was full of dirty cups/plates everywhere would not pay to use this place again

when you are booked into a lounge you don't expect to find the lounge full with no where to sit. the tables were not cleaned straight away when someone did leave. and the food was disgraceful, cold and uneatable. i could have saved my money and spent it on fast food downstairs with every other passenger. the whole point about booking a lounge was to have a nice relax before a long flight. that didn't happen.

We booked our airport lounge 2 months ahead of our holiday and arrived at Aspire lounge for our allocated time, having already paid for our visit at the time of booking. There were no seats or tables available and were told that we would just have to stand, not really providing a relaxing start to the holiday! The most disappointing thing was the large area of empty seats that had been reserved for customers of Singapore Airlines! Unfortunately Virgin Atlantic customers mustn't be worthy?! When we asked if we could sit in a seat until they were needed, the response was certainly not what I expected! Lorraine who was on reception at the time had clearly not got the memo about the Customer Service course that Aspire put their staff on and must've been feeling aggrieved that she wasn't going on holiday, so was more than happy to upset those of us that were! I had read mixed reviews ahead of booking the lounge but thought I would give it the benefit of the doubt...major fail on my part! The Food offering was bacon, scrambled egg and stale bread buns. I felt the 'polite notice' about the amount of alcohol consumed was a little condescending. I appreciate that a message may be required regarding drinking in moderation and that this notice may have been intended to be light hearted but it made us uncomfortable asking for a third drink for fear of the bar staffs reaction, especially considering the lack of customer service experienced prior! Oh, and when asking for the WiFi code, we were advised that Aspire don't have WiFi but you should be able to pick up the WiFi from the Escape lounge....priceless! Not the best money I've ever spent.

We were booked on a flight from the South Terminal and because you have to go through passport control we couldn't get into the Lounge. Your on-line booking system should recognise the flight number (eg ZB1734) as being an airline flying from the South Terminal and stop you from booking. Last year, we couldn't get in because we hadn't booked a specific time and the lounge was full. Very disappointing and expensive.
