“Placed an order 20th April. It said orders would take 15 days to be delivered. After they had taken my order and money they started posting messages saying it would take another 2-4 weeks. Still waiting. You can't contact them. They should not have taken my order or money if they already knew they couldn't make the order. Definitely a scam. Will contact my bank to see if they can help.”

“I ordered a Magnolia on 8th April and the money was taken from my Account the following day. 'Lockdown' made communication impossible, the website asking that emails not be sent and the Phone not being answered. On Friday 15th May I finally received a Despatch note and the Plant arrived on the following Monday afternoon. Within 20 minutes I had photographed it and sent an email to the Company. 'The Plant appears to have a disease on some of its leaves: one at the very top has dried out and died, another near the top is going the same way, others are beginning to go brown.' Three days later and I am still waiting for any sort of acknowledgement. This Plant has some sort of blight which must have been seen by the Packer before despatch. I am disappointed with the Plant, but the lack of Customer care also concerns me.”

“I placed my order on 13th April, to date it has not arrived. Gardening express have not replied to any of my emails, they have cut off their chat facility and their telephone number is not in service. Have you gone bust or are you a scam operator ?”

“Ordered in good faith on 11th April, as with other customers- no communication whatsoever! I think greed has taken over here, accepting orders that cannot be fulfilled. I understand that there will be delays, however I will be seeking refund, due to appalling customer service.”

“Absolutely disgusted with this company STAY WELL CLEAR 2 months and no plants but they took my money straight away, they don’t respond to any correspondence and you can’t phone them. DO NOT USE THEM”

“Had to wait ages for the delivery. Then when I finally got the 4 jasmine plants one was already dead others were terribly badly damaged. Packaging was disgraceful. Not satisfied at all. The company should be ashamed of themselves. Have asked for a refund but so far nothing.”

“Absolutely hopeless verging on a complete lack of integrity. No effective way of cancelling excessively delayed orders other than resorting to a credit card dispute. Yes Covid-19 has brought problems to us all but to continue to advertise 10-15 day delivery when many approach 6-8 Weeks and the company clearly know this is clearly miss selling. Not offering a simple mechanism for order cancellation when original delivery times can not be honoured, whether intentionally or not appears to contravene the UK distance selling regulations. Hoping Essex Trading Standards are taking a keen interest. Order with extreme caution only if you must”

“Still waiting since ordering on 10th April. I wish I had researched this company but thought I was buying from a reputable, independent nursery and helping them during this Covid time. Yep I’ve just helped them to my money!!! NO sign of my order. A SCAM I guess. Not sure how they can get away with such poor service. I am trying to get my money back through my bank as I cannot afford to just give my money away. I would give zero stars if I could.”

“Ordered two plants 19 days later they arrived nothing like the picture and one was on the death row. You can't get in touch, they say they are busy. Have sent a email to complain but I don't expect an answer. Will never buy again from them thank god the proper garden centres are open now.”

“Taken money for order placed on 15th April. It’s now 21st May, no response to support tickets raised (1st May) and no way of contacting them. I think I’ve been scammed 😫. Now trying to get money back via charge back.”

“Promised 3/5 days then 15 days then 4 weeks for my order.8 emails and phone calls no reply had no alternative but to ask my card provider to step in there investigating them.iv waited 6 weeks.be very careful read all the reviews they are appaling.(I should have read them)”

“I can only echo what other reviews said. I ordered nearly£50 worth of perennials 6 weeks ago! No communication and no reply to my email. They took my money immediately! Not all online gardening sites are like this and I do recommend Beth Chatto. They were brilliant. I wish I could get a refund from GEx but don't know how. However I am not letting them get away with this. It's criminal!”

“Stay well away from these cowboys. Took my order just under 6 weeks ago and since then I have heard nothing. There is no way of getting through to them as they have no phones or emails. Just a so called ticketing system which just gives you a ticket but no response or follow up to the ticket. Save your money and order from a real place.”

“Avoid this company. Ordered a tree on 30th April which has failed to be delivered. Have co tacted the company frequently and they fail to respond.Cannot find a phone number for this company. Avoid as it appears to be a scam. Ever who is run ing the scam is using Covid 19 as a reason for not fulfilling there commitment”

“I ordered plants from this company 5 weeks ago, and was advised that delivery would be delayed but that I should expect them within 15 days. I have been trying to contact them to find out if my order would ever be delivered, but it is a nightmare situation. They offer no telephone service, but recommend you use their chat facility. This facility has been suspended. I emailed them and was sent a long reply informing me that they have taken on and are training extra staff to deal with this situation, which is admirable but doesn’t help me. The reviews that I have read about the quality of their plants when they eventually do arrive do not give me confidence in what I may, at some point, receive. I wish I had read the reviews first - lesson learned. I won’t be ordering from them again.”
