Absolute Cowboys. OK in year 1 because they low ball to get you in. But beware Year 2: they'll ramp it up. So, look at their first renewal and if it has been ramped up, phone them in plenty of time before the renewal date, and they'll offer you a reduction 'because of changes in the rates' about which they won't tell you otherwise. Don't leave it at that: having got their reductions, go to Direct Line and get them to quote based on the numbers you've got and from whom. I've just saved £700 on 4 cars that way. Customer loyalty has no part in their vocabulary. I've no doubt that I'll play the same game with Direct Line in a year or two and go back to Admiral or another similar automatic renewal insurer. This process gives car insurers a bad name, but they deserve it.

I had protected bonus and made sure I always have it with my 15 years no claims. To be competitive on my renewal without telling me they removed it. I had a crash in my wife's car (dual policy) and my wife lost her no claims.. which was unfair as she's never had a crash. I failed to see they removed it on my renewal. For me they should never have removed it without my consent. Awful by a big company.

Admiral wont fight your corner at all, advising friends and family to renew policies elsewhere.

Admiral wrote to me a week into the policy claiming I had an endorsement on my license, which I do not. To top it off, they told me they would be taking £190 from my account. The customer service department expected me to prove them wrong, which I did but it took a lot of wasted time. Terrible service - avoid.

My partner and myself were both insured on the same car with admiral and 2 months into our policy they rung and demanded the full premium or the policy would be cancelled. They said the payment (due on that day) was declined, which turned out to be a bank error and we proved that but they still want the full premium paid. Safe to say we are looking elsewhere even if we have to pay more.. I rung up and the guy barely spoke english and kept repeating himself and told me that if i don't pay the full premium by May 12th then they will cancel my policy and add an extra £49.50 on top as a cancellation fee. It's safe to say that admiral will be receiving absolutely nothing from me. Not a penny. If you are reading this then shop elsewhere.. Admiral are thieves!

Contacted Admiral to add vehicle to Multicar policy. Was quoted £125 . Bought car 3 days later and rang back to commence cover and was quoted £260. They said initial quote was an error. I appealed and was told that they would honour original quote only to be called back 1 hour later to be told they would be charging £210. Argued again and at time of writing, they are doing it for £125. If I had not been so tenacious, they would have charged more than twice what they finally agreed. Not much confidence in them.

Multi-car policies don't always offer the best value. In fact, sometimes they can actually be the most expensive option. Our family Admiral multi-car policy covers my wife's and my own car. Our son was also on the policy with his own car that he sold earlier this year. He has now bought another car and so I telephoned Admiral to add him back onto our policy. I was quoted £858 to include him up until the renewal date in October - basically £858 for 6 months' remaining cover. My son decided to run a comparison site check whilst I was calling them. He discovered that the same company quoted him £750 for a brand new policy of his own! Thankfully he let me know before I accepted the telephone quote. So beware! Always check the market before adding a car to a multi-car policy. And after this experience we'll also be checking the market for separate quotes before automatically renewing our multi-car policy.

Disgusting customer service, took a policy out through a compare site. To then be emailed a few weeks later stating they are taking another payment of the same price. When no details changed. Have gone with another company all the same details half as cheap Will never go with them again. Make sure you check your bank statements.

Worse insurance company I have ever used. Avoid like the plague. Just been in collusion, had to pay for recovery £108 to recover my vehicle which was blocking the road, even though I was sat in an ambulance. 2.5 hrs on the phone failed to do anything. Tried to excess money from me at the scene of the accident. Vehicle is a right off, someone drove up the back of me at 40 mph while is was stationary. Insurance company have done nothing refusing to supply me courtesy car do how do I get to work. This is not my fault, they just leave you stranded awful, appalling service, promises of call backs at the accident scene never happened. They couldn't give a damn about you just tried to get money. Run if your thinking of using them. Go to a decent company.

Had to cancel my wife's car insurance with four months remaining on the policy due to her serious health issues which means that she can no longer drive. Customer Services were to say the least very unhelpful and unsympathetic and the penalty for cancelling early was extortionate. I work for a multi national company with 30,000 employees and I will be circulating an email to everyone recommending that they avoid using Admiral for future car insurance.

All was well until I had to make a claim then the service I have received was nothing apart from apoling . I was told by one person that my car was being picked up straight away and a courtesy car would be out as well that was on the 19th of March . Car didn't get picked up till 21 March where I still didn't get a courtesy car after again being told I was.The courtesy car got delivered on the 23 March which was to small and a manual car when I asked admiral to send a auto as I have a bad leg . In between all this i made a complaint about the service and a claim manager called me to apologise for the service I had received and offered me 50 pound companshion.since then I have not heard from admiral and I had to keep phoning the garage that was repairing my car as they also keeped putting me off with delivery date that never came I got the car back on Monday 11 April but unhappy with the repair car was covered in dust inside and I don't think the paint finish is good .So all in all I will never recommended admair in fact I would go as fair as saying stay well back . Poor service all round

Without a doubt the worse insurance company I have ever come across. Unfortunately had to make a claim as my parked car was involved in a hit and run, the way admiral handled the claim was disgusting, it took 5 days countless number of phone calls and a discussion with a manager to get anything done. They are a complete shambles and will be avoiding them like the plague in the future.

Been with admiral for years and all was good until I had to make a claim .I phoned them to let them know I had a minor accident .And was told that they would take care of it they took that details I was told by the advisor that my car would be collected and a courtesy car supplied that was on the 19th a few minutes after being told a courtesy car would be supplied the retracked this and said it was a mistake on there behalf .I was unhappy and made a complaint I was contacted by a claims manager that apologised for me being miss leaded and offered 50 pound companshion. I was then told by the manager that he would look after my claim .he told me my car would be collected and again a courtesy car would be on the recovery truck but it wasn't so again I call them and explain that there no courtesy car to be told again sorry our mistake my car had to be assessed then a car would be available for me . I asked if the courtesy car could be a automatic as I have a bad leg told not a problem that they would speak to the garage to supply a automatic car . But what happened i was brought out a manual car which was a nissan note . Which has so much restrictions on it your to frighten to use it . Anyway my car was took to be repaired on the 22nd of March and am still waiting to get it back keep being gave different date and when the date comes it still not ready. I will never use admiral again and would never recommended as it all about money customers service is shocking and so unhelpful poor poor service which is a shame as I have a two car insured with them

Currently undergoing the second worst experience of my life at the hands of Admiral house insurance following a water leak in the house. Topped only by the death of my Father. 4 months in and no progress on repairs. Continual lies as to the progress of the claim. Ultimately they don't, but then they don't see the effect it is having on my wife. So much for opting for the Platinum Insurance.
