Very very poor service once I had a claim. Admiral Law is the same, dealing with a bunch of incompetent people who can't do their job.

Watch out!! When I signed up with Admiral they provided the best quote but as time went by they pushed up the premium. For me they are now twice the cost of some of their competitors. Time to switch

I inherited my dad's car and instead of using Directline who my old car was insured with, I foolishly chose Admiral and applied online. They later phoned and after an hour persuaded me to add my husbands car when his insurance ran out, which wasn't until 352 days later, but I had to pay then. What they didn't tell me is that they removed my protected non claims bonus, and placed it on his, which was already insured on his current insurance, so I've been driving around thinking I had protected no claims bonus, when they'd put it on his car, which was still covered by his Directline insurance, and was only going to be on the Admiral Insurance for 13 days at the end of my first years insurance with Admiral!!! I only found this out yesterday. Today I've told their Indian call centre lady to cancel my insurance totally, and I've gone back to Directline where both my husband and I get protected non claims bonus on our cars and we're both named drivers on each other's. Directline were no more expensive, seem to have English call centres and include Business Use as standard. It's been an expensive lesson to learn with the cancellation fee, but I will certainly never ever use Admiral again, and I certainly wouldn't recommend them to anyone, I'm just thankful I didn't have an accident in the four months I was with them, I wasn't prepared to just cancel my husbands insurance with them, as quite frankly I lost all confidence in them and wanted nothing more to do with them.

Really disappointed to have had a quote treble over the phone compared to online because I simply asked my old insurance company to come and inspect storm damage. I chose to have the work carried out away from the insurance company and had the case closed. I walked away from them with a proof of no claims bonus yet admiral are still saying I had an intent to claim. So a premium goes up by £285 because I didn't claim! Where is the sense in that?

great customer service, both on renewal and with my ad hoc enquiries. Despite speaking to different people each time I call I get the same high level of customer service. Great job!

Appalling , very misleading about what their insurance is. They expect you to do the work for them whilst trying to get you sign up and pay for additional services of some third party instead of getting on and dealing with your "no fault" claim . Avoid Admiral at at costs.

Disgracefully auto-renew policy without warning then charge excessive fees. Avoid.

Long review but defo worth a read before considering starting a policy with them and especially if you are a young driver. My 'plug in and drive' (black box you only have to have for 3months) policy started on Feb and already have had to cancel my policy in May absolute stress! My renewal price with a previous insurer went up by a lot so I had to start looking for another provider, admiral came along with a dirt cheap price (which I now know was too good to be true) Setting up the policy was very smooth and easy I can't complain about that. 30 days from the day I started my policy I received an email to say my driving score was 'bronze' and told me things I need to improve on such as harsh acceleration etc. I took this onboard and started to chill with the acceleration. 60 days from the day my policy started i got another email to say that my driving score was still 'bronze' and that for the next 30days I will really need to improve or my policy will be cancelled. At this point I called them up because I didn't really understand what was going on and what more I need to do to improve my score. I was told that there was 3 main factors effecting my score. Speed - Risk factor - night driving. Speed I took on the chin but I argued the other two. They said driving from 10pm - 5am was thought to be risky and this effects the score I explained to them that I have only drove once in 60days after 10pm (which I honestly had) I also asked about the 'risk factor' the man then began to explain that my car was not outside my house enough hours a day he said that it needs to be outside my house 12 hours a day(ridiculously unpractical)!! I explained that my car is practically outside my house for that amount of time anyway (I walk to work) and that the only time it's not there is when I stay at my boyfriends house 4times a month! They told me that in order to meet the % to get my score up I'm only allowed to keep my car away from my address 1 night a month!!!!! Furious and in disbelief I asked to see the data they have been getting from my box they told me I must pay £10 to see the data from MY box and it will take 40days to arrive to me (remember they said that if my driving doesn't improve in 30days it would be cancelled) so there was no point. The man then went on to tell me that if I do all of these things just for the next 30 days my score would certainly go up. Desperate for it not to be cancelled as I had no money to get another policy I did as they told me to. Every time I went out I put my cruise control on I did not speed once in those 30 days I also paid for hourly insurance on my sisters car to travel to my boyfriends house to insure that my car was outside my house 12 hours a day. 90 days from the day my policy started (judgement day) I was pretty confident they wouldn't cancel my policy as I done everything I was told to get my score up. I get an email to say that my score is still bronze and that in 7days they will cancel my policy. Furious I'm straight back onto the phone with them in tears this time I spoke to someone else who told me " I don't know who told you that your score would go up in 30days it never would of" I was so upset I was lied to I paid out extra money to Insure my car was outside my house all those hours. In fairness they give you a 7day before they cancel the policy so you can cancel the policy in those 7days and you don't have to pay a cancellation fee or declare that it was cancelled to other insurance providers, I paid for the policy in one lump sum so I am now waiting for a refund (it's only been 2days since I cancelled) for the 10months unused insurance which they said they would do But I was so stressed in those last 30 days making sure I wasn't speeding and using other people's cars for nothing. Really disappointed and now having to to look for new insurance is hectic. My advice to you guys is unless you're a perfect driver you have been warned if you have a black box it is beyond impossible to get a good score and your policy will probably get cancelled!!

Nightmare customer service. When I reported the accident, they didn't open my file with all information and picture, until I chased them to update me. The accident was not my fault, but they are not updating you, giving you the wrong information, they say, they can recall the call, etc. They said, I have to deal with third company about the excess, even their website something else and I was told on the phone something else, but apparently they can't find the call, even they record all calls. PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY. SO MUCH STRESS. THEY DO NOT PROTECT THEIR CUSTOMERS!!!!

It went wrong when they ripped me off for cancelling my policy I had to because my car failed and didn't work so needed a new car they wouldn't transfer the policy without charging extra and decided that an extra £150 just to cancel it early was acceptable it's not my fault that they won't be any help in changing it but I have to pay for it, I also had to wait until a direct debit went out before we cancelled it so all in all a pain in the neck and wouldn't recommend them at all

I want to review the review, your website, supposedly trustworthy. I had been a customer of admiral, till they blackmail me for uninsured car, which is parked in a private land. Admiral insurance also forcefully tried to use my credit card details to insure it, eventhough I said on phone DO NOT TOUCH MY CARD DETAILS. I can see through the reviews that many of of them fake, and they even use the same name for the other insurance companies reviews.

Left stranded (I have a broken leg so made even worse) while fighting with admiral to try to get re insured for 2 hours, after getting a letter on Friday saying my car insurance had be canceled 6 days ago, for the first hour and a half they said I have to pay £1000 upfront even though they hadn't refunded me yet otherwise I would be stuck but finally gave in after a lot of persuasion. They admitted to it being a fault on their behalf and told me I would have to pay an extra £100 from my last cover and an extra £100 excess for each driver, also being told my gold standard driving for the last three months was now worthless. Eventually after fighting for hours on the phone over several days telling them they will lower the price to the original value and having to quote pieces of their own contract to show them they are at fault they finally gave in and lowered the price to what it was before they canceled it. They are a decent option but really will screw you over even if its their own fault. Would highly advise another company if they are a similar price. Wonder what would have happened if the police would have seen my car while i was uninsured and didnt know, they didnt send an email or call or anything just a very late letter, unacceptable.

A driver claimed that we had gone into the back of him in slow moving traffic. This was not true. Even the person inspecting our vehicle said there was no damage and therefore there could not have been any contact. The other driver claimed£25,000 for whiplash and damage to his car. Admiral paid out 2k just to avoid a court case and then it was put down as an at fault claim and we lost our no claims bonus. They are only thinking of themselves not the people who insure. Now our premiums when we went to other companies have gone up because we have lost their no claims bonus and there is an at fault claim on our record even though we haven't done anything wrong and Admiral are just trying to save themselves money. A charlatan company.
