“I'm trying to add myself to my terminally ill father's Admiral car insurance policy and have spent many hours on the phone (mainly on hold) to some call centre in India, when I should be spending time with my father during his final few days of life. I have been fobbed off by numerous idiots, giving me pathetic excuse after excuse, and the simple task of adding me to his policy has still not been resolved. I always use Aviva for my car insurance, and I'm sure they would not give such inexcusably disgusting service. I would not wish Admiral on my worst enemy. I would give Admiral ZERO stars if possible.”
“I found it quick and easy to talk to someone and the information that I asked for was easy to understand. I explained that I had learning difficulties and the man was helpful and made sure that I understood before finishing the conversation.”
“Premium was very acceptable quoted, when I first took motor policy out, but will be very interested on what premium I will be charged on renewal, come November !!! Also please note I do not live in Southall.”
“Crap customer service passed to 4 different departments to then be told we're not interested in your problem tough luck you got caught out by auto renewal and a massive price hike do not use this company”
“they do not insure learner drivers in Northern Ireland. You only find this out after filling in all the forms online, that is 30 minutes Ill never get back. The headline saying that they do insure drivers in the UK is misleading.
They are aware of it bet refuse to put a notice up to stop you wasting your time.”
“Looking st the reviews it seems to me the highly rated reviews are first time users be aware at renewal time auto renewal is in place and your insurance will treble”
“Auto renewal
Please be aware that all admiral companies use this facility. Last year my insurance with them was £250 with no years discount, as I've previously just been insured on my husbands car ins policy. I've not claimed or had an accident but this year they wanted £680 with 1 years no claims . My fault in this is that die to going on holiday during this time and running my own business as well as a busy household I didn't have the time to cancel the policy. as the car is being sold and for that they've charged me £65 for 2 weeks insurance. I called to explain my car has been off the road and not used etc etc but they wouldn't waver this fee. I didn't ask for this renewal and wouldn't have renewed at that price if I was keeping the car but auto renewal caught me out . They will try to tell you it's for legal reasons to ensure I'm continually insured if that was the case why the extortionate hike in policy price. Be warned a rip off uncaring company who obviously need £65 so much if they are willing to charge someone for something they didn't need or request.”
“My daughters car (worth £2800) was written off 6 months into the policy (the other driver didn't stop so she got no details from him) Admiral finally paid out £2000 after first offering £1650, she rang them to ask if she could transfer the remainder of the policy onto a new car and she was told yes, We spent the day looking for another vehicle and put a deposit on one, When my daughter contacted Admiral to tell them the new cars registration number she was told the policy had been cancelled and she would now have to pay £3,300 to insure the new car. This company are liars and so unprofessional DONT insure anything with them they quoted a new insurance policy for £3300 simply to recoup the money they paid in the claim, that's not an insurance policy! That's just blatantly them trying to get their money back or more likely telling you to Fuck Off DONT INSURE WITH ADMIRAL!!!!!”
“I took out a motor policy for my son. He sleeps at my house two nights a week and his mothers five nights a week. As he has only been learning to drive the car has been kept on my drive and getting used at the weekends. I have now been charged an additional £98 because I had declared that the vehicle would spend most of the time parked on the road at his mothers house. Their telematics tell them I declared incorrect details. I have now moved the car and parked it on the road at his mothers house. In a week he has his driving test then the car will reside mostly at his mothers house. What is most rude is Admiral made no effort to contact me to discuss and understand that the car is safely parked on my drive and not on the road they simply issued an additional charge of £98. Be warned any excuse to get additional premiums out of you.”
“Admiral personal loans are useless to apply. Please don't waste you time. Their application evaluation is baseless and overall service is very very bad. Stay away”
“Everything, never trust a word they say this company use common sense against you
my sons car got vandalised by thugs he had never seen before he suffered broken bones, Admiral say its his fault, someone changed lanes in front of him took his front end off, Admiral say its his fault. fitted a tracker and dash cam, Admiral say you must think your car will be involved in an accident or is going to be stolen. We have a multi car policy but cant drive one another cars, I drive an E63 AMG but cant drive my sons Astra. They are a crock of ****”
“Absolutely useless - in car journey details not accurate. Rating of journeys is very arbitary and I have complied with all speed limits in day time and still not got gold rating. Says the dashboard is to try to help you improve driving but does not give enough information to do anything and misses journeys even over 0.5 miles. Complained about all this to Admiral and get some idiot who just wants to resolve issues over phone rather than listen to what is wrong. Shockingly poor all round”
“Absolutely rubbish. Despite dropping the price they were still among the most expensive so I told them I would not be renewing my policy but they still sent a revised renewal notice and said they'd still collect the premium on the due date. Customer service crap, haven't responded to emails (get written evidence where I can). Absolutely appalling service, will never use them again and will encourage others to avoid them too!”
“Awful customer service, I phoned up to enquirer about my policy and was told I did not have insurance with them. Which was a very stressful experience as this was 6 months into the policy. I then had to contact them again when I finally got on the phone to someone who could understand my concern and was able to respond appropriately in no time at all.”
