I am an employee of Admiral. You're all right - avoid this company like the plague! They do rate on speed/driver awareness courses. They also rate on you very harshly if you're involved in a non-fault accident. They say it's your fault for being out when it's busy! Renewals is a huge joke. They up your premiums around 40% every year, and set up auto renewal, hoping you will forget about it being due, and they will charge you the ridiculous amount. Call in and we will give you some discounts, but it will never be lower than last year. Don't buy the car hire, or personal injury or breakdown cover. You will NOT get a hire car, and they will fight you on every injury claim. The breakdown is ok, but very expensive. Admiral is changing their computer systems, and it is very expensive. That's why you pay higher rates. Avoid Elephant, Diamond and Bell also. Their house insurance is terrible also. All of the employees on the phones hate their jobs and how they are treated. They're soon moving everything to India anyhow. Do yourself a favour and avoid these companies. Take it from someone on the inside! You don't want to deal with these people!

BEWARE. The sales team will promise the earth to get the business. If you are not careful when it comes to renewal will increase. In my case they increased my no claims bonus to 16 years and increased the insurance premium by 100% rather than reducing it. When calling customer services I was given the run around the houses and no proper explanation. Daylight robbery!!

Cheeky gets just tried to take a car off the policy as my partner doesn't drive the car tried to charge a fee and a administration fee on top I've been a customer for years. Bad insurance company oh and I was in accident last June and still no help from them there a JOKE!!!!!!

after having to wait on the phone for over 20 minutes, i had to repeat the same information 4 times, despite me already inputting the details on-line??? whats the point of a on-liner contact when you have to call anyway!!!!!! terrible customer service, very poorly lead, the website states you can do all this on-line.....thats a lie!!! you end up having to call!!!

Phoned up on the 2nd 2pm explained had child and person with cf was told would be put on priority call back 2-4 hours. Around 7pm I phoned back and was told no one would be coming out. Said I could book in to a hotel and reclaim the money, But only for accommodation not breakfast or dinner, would have to pay for rest myself, couldn't afford a hotel for the night, and couldn't risk putting it on credit card either if they decided my claim was invalid I would have not got a refund. Phoned again on the 3rd was told again no one would be coming out. Tried to get my own engineer but the only ones I could get couldn't give me a gas safe number so that again was a wasted day on the Internet and making phone calls and waiting on call backs. As couldn't get money back from admiral if repairs were done by someone not gas safe registered. 4th phoned again at 12pm was expecting a phone call at 8am that never happened, was told someone would be there in an hour. Engineer came looked at boiler asked about a timer, I said it had been taken off as had kitchen refit, engineer asked about servicing I said I could get him the last service report from November as I had boiler service contract with power he said he didn't need it and said don't bother. I asked what would be happening next, he said he would order a part and would be contacted again within 4 hours, and I would be up and running that night with heating. I again phoned admiral at 5.30pm they said as my boiler hadn't been serviced the claim was closed. Still no contact from admiral of any type of update after sitting at home expecting a phone all to say an engineer was on his way,  I explained it was serviced and the engineer said not to bother getting the service report. Nothing was ever mentioned about a service report for the entire 3 days. I emailed them a copy of service report and they then said yes everything looks ok they would arrange for an engineer to contact me about repairs. Probably spent about 2hours on phone to admiral and plumbers over the 3 days, not what you expect with boiler breakdown cover that actually says home emergency cover. Phoned again 5th Jan 8.30am as didn't get any call back the night before. Now told as the boiler fault was due to wear and tear I wasn't covered. Eventually got my own plumber out to do repairs on the 6th January at cost of £120.

Worse insurance company ever! I have never experinced such a disgusting customer service in my life. Ive been on the phone for hours and they seem to understand what they want to hear. Ive missed a direct debit as i was in hospital and now they want the whole prmium of £1500 in a week. I told them if they could at least break it down a little but ive been told they even want an additional £170 to cauncil the insurance. Pqthetic im not trying to cauncil im trying to pay spoke to 3 people and they all seem to be hard of understanding pathetic.

I got a competitive online quote from them so tried to buy online. It wouldn't let me and said I had to phone them, so I did. They pulled up 2 flags on my quote. Firstly they told me I had been involved in an accident earlier this year. I hadn't. I had witnessed an accident. Secondly, my husband had been sitting in a parked car and a car clipped his wing mirror. Because the other driver got out and began threatening my husband it was reported to the police and we were advised to report it to the insurance company. No damage was done and no claim made yet they put my insurance premium up by £100. The agent them said if I wanted to give her my payment details she would take payment. When queried she said the quote had been adjusted because of the accident. And said I now had to pay the extra £100 to take out the policy. Told them to stick their policy. I will never use them again! Penalised for witnessing an accident! Joke!!!

I had car insurance from Admiral. They sent me a renewal quote which was 40% higher that the first year despite having no claims throughout the year. I shopped around and took out a much cheaper policy with another insurer. Admiral contacted me saying they had automatically renewed my car insurance and took the money from my account (as I had given them my bank details the previous year). I had not requested this and had never encountered it with any other insurer. This is definitely not a company I would seek to have any involvement with again.

We sold our car and I contacted admiral through the website to ask them to cancel the insurance. We heard nothing so I did it again. Eventually we simply cancelled our direct debit. We then received a letter demanding a lot of money for unpaid services. When I finally called them, they were extremely apologetic, and gave me a refund. It was utterly delightful to deal with a company who immediately made good their wrong and admitted to it immediately. Will definitely use them again
