Absolutely APPALLING customer service. They make you wait for AGES to get through to anyone and then as soon as you get through to someone, they say that they can not help and have to put you through to another team and make you listen to the same song for AN HOUR. Their chat line does not work and no one replies to emails.

Different members of staff contradicting each other, giving me the wrong information. They keep you waiting on the phone forever, just to tell you you are not through to the right department and ...that you have to deal with the problem yourself and ring the third party company yourself. Dreadful customer service!!! We contact the complaints department and they give you a number to ring them on...which is the same number you rang and were hold up for 23 minutes for no result.

Had a non fault accident as a car emerged out of a give way junction and clearly saw me coming, they are claiming that it was my fault as they have a 'witness' whom i believe is acquainted with the woman who crashed into me, (need to remind you that if i was to pull out of a give way junction and a police car was on the main road, i would have been given a fine). 3 weeks it had taken them, 3 weeks to decide that the accident was my fault. They simply rung me up and said we're holding you liable for the incident, didn't ask me if i wanted to accept liability, (which i still don't). they didn't make any information clear and didn't even notify my solicitors as i had to inform them that my 'insurance company' was holding their own customer liable for an accident that wasn't his fault. Wonderful. Paid for a courtesy car within my policy, no such car was provided and they kept re-directing me to another 3rd party. (enterprise rent-a-car). Contacting CAB in the meantime as i have had an independent claims handler/adviser look at the pictures and diagrams of the accident and he is 100% certain that i should not be held liable and the accident was solely the other party's fault, in short, don't insure with these guys, they couldn't care less about you as a person and/or your claim.

Insure The Box Avoid !!!. You can expect unanswered emails, half an hour wait trying to get through to Customer Services and complete in flexibility if you try to amend your policy. My first year insurance policy started at £900 per year which was exceptional value but when you start to exceed the miles you are stung, I ended up paying an extra £1,900. Changing address cost £280 to a better area . Avoid as it costs more and customer service is appalling.

I tried to obtain a quote for car insurance but was told because I had had ny license for over 20 years and the maximum no claims they were unable to offer me a quote despite me previously being insured by them for the previous 4 years the reason they gave me was because they are more suitable for new drivers. I find this to be discriminates experienced drivers who have built up a respectable driving history for this reason I would never recommend a company who is only interested in insuring high risk drivers as this seems very dodge indeed

I have had many problems with Insurethebox and they are not getting any better. As I type this I have been on hold for exactly 61 minutes! 61 minutes! I think this is an absolutely unacceptable thing. I called them, was paced on hold for 43 minutes, then the call just got diconnected and now it's been 18 minutes and still nothing! I went online to use their online chat, and unsurprisingly that is not working either! I do not understand how they are still open as a business! It is absolutely shocoking!

Terrible treatment when cancelled insurance, they came up with all these extra charges which I had never been informed of. It took weeks to try and sort out cancelling the policy then out of nowhere they said I needed to inform them of a date and time I wished to cancel, I had already given them a date weeks ago, asking for a time, I believe was just them being awkward. The girl I spoke to on the phone was being told what to say, I could hear someone in the background telling her to tell me all the charges that would now be due, cancellation fee, fee for extra miles, admin costs, etc all a lot of hog wash. Very unprofessional company, who seem to make things up as they go along.

First of all, I was only notified that I had went over my limit of miles 500 miles later, therefore I was already in debt to them before I could 'buy' anymore miles. Also, the price to top up your miles is absolutely ridiculous. I was averaging around 1500 miles a month, and with 4 month still to go before I could renew, meant I would have to pay £43.96 to get out of my minus number of miles then at least a further £525 on top of my monthly payments to get me to the end of my insurance year. Then, I decided to look elsewhere and found a cheaper quote which would benefit me monthly, so I phoned insure the box to cancel my policy to which they told me I had to pay for the rest of the year!! Having no doubt that I would not be paying the extra for the top up miles I took the hit and paid the cancellation and went elsewhere. I would not recommend insure the box to anyone.

Worst customer service ever....promised a call back nd never received this. Tried to call again and held on for over an hour. I decided I wanted to cancel this policy due to the poor service I received and they couldn't refund my cancellation fee as I hadn't taken out other insurance...why wld you take other insurance out before u cancelled the existing one but if I had already took out insurance with another company then they would have returned the cancellation fee...total rip off..

I pay well over £1000 for car insurance to be rudely told they've admitted liability on my behalf following a collision that wasn't my fault and that I'm a liar because it's just more probable that I pulled out on the other driver. So irrespective of the photographs, diagrams and statement that PROVE the other driver is in the wrong - it's 'just not probable'. Thank you 'insure the box' for extremely poor cover and appalling customer service. The decision was made to admit liability before they even asked for my evidence. Small company - cheap insurance - clearly would rather pay off the other party than fight their customers claim.

1. Far to expensive 2. Take far to long to answer the phone 3. To cancel your insurance or change address the admin premium is extremely high in comparison to other insurance companies 4. Poor customer service

DONT USE THIS COMPANY!! i was with them 10 months this was the last month i would pay to them as i paid the two months upfront. and guess what they cancelled my policy because i was behind slightly on my miles. I now have not received my no claims and lost my last two months of insurance i paid for! oah and also was very rude, the manager actually threatened me! (ANDREW) they did not send me a notice of cancellation i even called 3 weeks previous paid my miles and explained my little boy is seriously ill in hospital and told them i had not been in work much and would pay the existing miles in 4 weeks! this they claimed was fine at the time. Complete cons i cant believe how much i have paid to this company and not benefited anything i am stuck at work now an hour from home with a child in hospital and i have no insurance!!! such a coincidence they cancelled on my last payment. and yes you have to chase them to pay i have been on hold for more than an hour on many occasions and yes they do threaten to cancel the policy if the box is not fitted but they dont answer the phone so how can it be booked?? then they send the guy to a completely different address miles away. they guys commented also who fit the box stating how terrible this company is!!!!! AVOID

I was driving for a year when whilst on a drive on the motorway I was hit by a truck when he tried to swop lains. He clipped the front of my car with the back of his trailer. After having my car recovered I then began with making a claim. However because where the truck hit me there is no cameras on that stretch of motorway for 5 miles either way. I also couldn't remember the registration plate of the truck because that was the last thing on my mind when the front of my car was completely obliterated. Since we couldn't find the truck I was forced to claim on my own insurance. Im a 19 year old male so you can imagine how much I didn't want to claim because of the price my insurance would be next year. My insurance then forced me into a corner saying that my car was a write off and that it couldn't be repaired. Because they told me that the only thing I could do was claim. A few days later I was then told that my insurance had to collect my car to take it to one of the garages to acces the damage to my car. How could they tell me that may car was a write off then they clearly have not even looked at the car! So because I felt like my insurance was trying to basically screw me I got a private garage to look at he pictures I took of my car and see what they think. They said they think they could fix it and that they really doubt that it is a write off. With them telling me that I rang up the insurance and asked if I could cancel my claim and get my car back. They told me that I would have to pay all the recovery cost which I understand and all the storage costs that I was never aware of. All in all it would cost me £600 just to be able to collect me car! What I'm saying is ever since I got involved with the insurance that have pushed me into a corner and forced me to go with them. For any young drives going with insure the box because they are the cheapest, don't! The customer service is terrible because no body knows what's going on! I actually hate this insurance company!
