Refusing to carry out a valuation on my property for my mortgage even after Boris confirmed that these services could re-commence. Horrendous cronyism allowing the state-owned RBS banks to avoid lending to people when they need it most.

I would give Legal and Genarel no star at all . My home insurance policy comes with Home Emergence service which means if I don’t have hot water in my house they should repair my hot water system. They refused to do so stating it’s part of my responsibility to maintain. My hot water system is basically a water tank which is heated by emerssion electric heater or element and nothing to be maintained . After dispute over the phone they eventually send a plumber who said the heating element is croded and it is not covered in the policy. This isn’t the first time I tried to make a claim . In February 2017 I made a claim for storm damage to my property, a tree knocked part of my boundary wall which is part of the building. They refused to honour my claim so I made a claim through court and received part of the claim. This company is not easy when it comes to make a legitimate claim that you are entitled to . Now I have decided I had enough so cancelled my policy with them and would not recommend them to anyone.

They are rude, pushy and just nasty. Do not use. My partner and I started an application to apply for joint decreasing cover and critical illness cover for us both. We had to sit through an hour long phone call because they said it would be quicker and once we had done that we wouldn't need to fill in an more questionnaires. Then received an email saying that before they could even start an application I would have to have a full medical. (Obviously with COVOID-19 I was not agreeing with this) We needed our cover so we could finish buying our first house with our mortgage. They then said that they wouldn't start any cover until I had this so we decided to try another company and just get the joint decreasing. I emailed them to cancel and then the next morning I get a phone call, from them trying to sell me extra cover, after listening to the woman talk for five minutes I interrupted and that I've already messaged to cancel. She said that she cant do that and she would get someone else to phone me. Half an hour later a guy phoned me asking why I wanted to cancel, after I explained he just kept arguing with me. I told him I want to cancel the applications. And he wouldn't he kept arguing and trying to push me into their cover. Told me that they are a much more reputable company then any I have looked at and I wouldn't find more cover. That no-one would cover me quicker and yet they wouldn't do it when I wanted either. So it was useless for me. Eventually I told him no cancel it, and all I could hear was him huffing and puffing on his side. It was disgusting to be talked to like Im an idiot. Do not give them your money!!

The length of time you have to wait for a claim to be settled is appalling. I have 3 claims outstanding and despite sending several copies of the paperwork they are still saying they have not received them. I have written several letters of complaint and their responses fail to address the issue on each occasion. Also offered cheque as compensation but length of travel to a bank - in access of 40 miles makes it an empty gesture. Absolutely dreadful customer service.Now saying claims will be settled in 4-6 weeks due to the current crisis but problems flagged to them long before this occurred.I have contacted the Ombudsman.

Dealing with a claim with Legal and General is a pain! I have been waiting for nearly 3 months and they are asking me for my dog’s full medical record! They should ask my vet directly but not me! I am going to switch to another insurance company despite all the previous existing health conditions policy. Keeping an insurance policy which you cannot make a claim is useless anyway!

Legal & General has hands down the worst platform/website I have ever used. It's so badly designed that you are unable to even complete simple tasks like changing your investments. Covid might have had an impact on the service, but it was terrible before. You are not even able to see the performance of your portfolio over time. I'm really shocked how poor it is, and would not use it if my employer did not use it as the pension provider. I will start lobbying them to change provider now.

Disgusting, why do insurance companies try so hard not to pay life insurance. At a time of sorrow when you lose the one you love this company fails to pay out the full insured sum or anything close to it. I am disgusted at what my sister in law has had to endure at the hands of this company they ought to be very ashamed

Due to an error with the online payment system, which simply said 'oops, something went wrong,I was redirected to an automated telephone payment line. Unfortunately the payment was taken twice, oops,indeed. When contacted L&G eventually found two payments and will credit my card upto 21 days later. Why 21 days. Be warned if you pay online and get an error message

I would not even give a score of 1 for this company however strangely enough you can’t write a review unless you press 1! They are a disgrace. I had to video myself making a statement that my claim was genuine, They ask for your email address to make sure your complaint is genuine, So I guess they want me to video that too!

I have had pet insurance with this company for many years and it used to be good.It is absolutely dreadful now. I have three claims outstanding, first one going back to the 6th December. I have registered a complaint but still nothing has been resolved.There is a phone number for complaints and your call will be answered quicker, it's 03700600089.Also if you complain about the length of time hanging on they will send you a compensation cheque. My premium is 91+pounds a month, you would expect a bit of service for this! Will be reporting them to the insurance ombudsmen very shortly.

Don't touch this company. 8 weeks after a simple pet claim all certified by the vet and still not resolved or paid. You cannot speak with anyone as calls are over 20 minutes waiting and still in a queue. There is no complaints line. In effect, there appears to be no company at all but one that takes your money. I will be cancelling and never go near them again. Not fit for purpose as an organisation.

Have a hole in my bedroom ceiling after storm damage told the operator that i have a newborn but was told it would take a week to get a surveyor out! And that if i get a builder in the mean time i wont be covered! Aparently a bedroom with a newborn and with a constant leak isn't an emergency!

Would give zero stars but they are absolutely rubbish. Over an hour and a half and no one answering their claim number(s) as I’ve called more than one I have included the (s). They should be fined and I will be following up a complaint with the FCA. Never use!!!!

Avoid this company like the plague...I have been a customer for 4 years now and paid into a lifetime policy. This so called company have just literally more than doubled my premium... I have tried so many times to make contact and sat on the phone for over 30 minutes listening to music and noone answers... They will get a shock when they try to collect the direct debit. They get people to buy into these policies and then raise premiums up to an extortionate amount because they believe they have them trapped. Seems they can't be bothered to answer the phone I am going to make sure that I share this information in as many places as possible.

I reached retirement age over a month ago, and L&G had committed to paying my pension at the beginning of each month (so January). When no money appeared, I called them, and they said they hadn’t received the requisite information yet from the previous company. I called the latter, and they said this was because L&G had given them incorrect details concerning me (date of birth etc). L&G admitted this, but would not do anything to speed the processing of my pension up, instead adopting a broken record approach of repeatedly telling me that it would be 14-20 working days (ie up to a month) before I got my first payment. When I ask them questions, they ignore them; the previous company tells me L&G have STILL not re-submitted their request; L&G state (with a total absence of shame) that it will take up to a month after they get the information before I get paid anything, so TWO MONTHS since my pension should have started. I am in despair over this, feel that L&G are treating me with contempt, and strongly recommend that anyone reading this goes elsewhere. Just look at these reviews – NEARLY A QUARTER of reviewers rate them as bad!!

I have a protection insurance In this company and he need to give my claim after 1 week I stop the work I stoped in 23 nov 2019 and I sent everything I calll more time and today in 30 January 2020 I call because I have a surgery and telling me sorry we can not help you because you cover in 1 nov 2019 I think is very early for claim ooooooo my good !!! And I have 3 insurance I pay 70 £ every month and for 600£ every month no cover me maybe I am death this ......company no give me never 100 000£ !!!!!!! 🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕

Be prepared to wait for at least half hour to speak to someone, also very slow payout used to be a decent pet insurance company but not now.

When going through my bank statements, I noticed that my home insurance renewal payment, £208, has been taken out of my account twice. I have been on the phone for 40 minutes yesterday on hold and 35 minutes today. I have still not been able to resolve this. So despite the mistake, contacting the company is very difficult- would not recommend!
