I am extremely dissatisfied with the coop car insurance entity. They use an intermediary once you have bought the policy which means that if you make changes or cancel the policy they will not discuss issues with you and you have go through an endless loop of phone system to register a complaint. Furthermore the cancellation policy is punitive if you change a vehicle and they are not competitive on a new rate. Insurers should not be allowed to punish customers for changing vehicles during a policy period in this fashion. They should either price match competitors or cancel the policy for the same charge as the policy change fee. I would not recommend using this company as when i wished to speak to someone about this they wanted to pass me off to an intermediary without any responsibility. The insurance is marketed under the cooperative group. ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY!

Be very very careful with co op insurance if you have an accident they will find a loop hole to not pay you any money at all, they will firstly send out a claims investigator to investigate ur accident the job of the investigator is to cross examine you and find a loop hole not to pay you. Co op will happily take your money to insure you they sound very nice over the phone to take you onboard but from the moment you have an accident they will file your case with hill Dickinson solicitors then send out an insurance investigator, lucky enough if you get paid out for your claim they will then try to cancel your policy making up faulse reasons. Once they decline you insurance it will be difficult for you to obtain cheaper insurance with other good companies in the near future. Don't fall for there niceness on the phones be aware.

i paid in full for the year, sent in my no claims bonus from previous insurer, received an email acknowledging receipt. 4 days later received a letter says my policy had been cancelled(2 day earlier) due to no claims not being received. i then had to take out completely new policy was charged again and told the refund for original policy would take 7 days!!!!!!!! I did in the end get it in 2 days after arguing i was not happy at paying twice for the same policy. TODAY ANOTHER £374 HAS BEEN TAKEN FROM MY ACCOUNT. NEVER WOULD RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. I AM IN THE PROCESS OF GETTING A NEW INSURER, CANCELLING MY POLICY TONIGHT

Shockng customer service from this company, i will never go with then again and i will never recommend this company either.waiting on telephone on hold 1 day for 40 mins then when i did get through couldnt help me , i asked for a manager and was told by an arrogant girl that a manager wlll tell me the same as she did, after waiting another 10 mins was advised i couldnt speak to a manager, so by this point i was fuming .. ???? Was emailed saying that they were going to cancel my insurance that they had not recieved the document ( counterpart liceince ) which i did upload to them and they said have not recieved it. So i did it again and also sent them attatched to an email also, called back the following day and surprisingly was on hold for 1 hour before i gave up, then tried again and was on hold again for half an hour .. By this time i had to go to work. I am on phone again trying to get through and have been on hold so far for 25 mins????????????????????????????. This is not acceptable service at all especially when being charged for the call.. And they wonder why they get fraustrated and irrate customers, maybe if they showed a little respect and employed more agents then the hold wouldn't be so long. Ridiculous service bunch of numptys, and if i hear in my ear again we apologise all our advisors are busy im going to scream????

I have just moved house and this obviously entails notifying many different organisations of a change of address. I have done most of these on line including my co-op car insurance. This was the only company to charge me an ' admin fee' of £20. Where is the admin? I did all of it on line ! I will not be renewing my insurance with this company

A payment wasn't processed for some odd reason, so they cancelled the policy with immediate effect without telling us, so we drove around unwittingly without insurance for 3 months. We immediately tried to renew it, but guess what, yes THE PRICE HAD DOUBLED. So we went to Saga, very helpful company and we paid the price we normally do. I have a feeling I heard about this insurance scam from Martin Lewis. We had been customers with the Co op for over 10 years.

Worst experience ever, customer service is completely useless. I had to phone a lot of times and the customer service was just horrible, communicating with them was just impossible, they doubled my policy because of a mistake in the paperwork and they never corrected it to the point that I had to cancel my policy and request my bank to send my money back as they were taking double the money that they should. It cost me a lot of months of stress and frustration, I will never get any service from them and I don't recommend it at all.

I've no complaints about the co-op's insurance. I've been insuring with them since 1976 and never had to make a claim. My problem is with their attitude towards customers. As I've said I've been insuring with them since 1976 - but do they treat me as a loyal and valued customer? Not likely! My recent renewal notice was 100% higher than other comparable quotes, so when I called them to ask why and could they make their's a little more competitive, I was rather surprised to find they either couldn't or wouldn't. Don't understand their business model at all. Do they want a business or not? Would seem in a very competitive market place the answer to that one is no. They certainly don't have me as a customer any more - after 39 years.
