“One star is too many, the instructions are just pictures, the wood is supposed to have fully predrilled holes except the bed I ordered certainly didn't so on trying to complete the hole the drill bit broke. Phoned and had someone say but it's just pine one too many times as though what was my problem! I have built lots of furniture and this was just rubbish, however, they kindly offered to send out a replacement part which should have arrived yesterday but now received email confirmation arriving next week... so my daughter will have been sleeping on a mattress on the floor for a fortnight! And don't get me started on the underbed drawer, what a piece of junk certainly not worth a fraction of what I paid, save your money and buy elsewhere, I do not recommend!!”

“Very poor quality. The queen frame doesnt even have a middle support, which they only sell for “extra”. AVOID”

Good Afternoon, Thank you for your review. We can see that you have been in contact with the customer service team. They have informed you that you had assembled the frame incorrectly, based on a YouTube video that pertains to a different bed entirely. You were dissatisfied when they requested for you to rebuild it properly in order to determine if the issues you were encountering persisted. As previously mentioned, the frame size you received does not include a central support as a standard feature. As there is slightly more flex in the slats than expected we will be sending you a central support, along with other components of the bed that we believe will assist in resolving this issues you have experienced now that the bed has been assembled correctly. “Firstly the felt feet pads (which were paidfor) were not in the delivery, otherwise the bed is very nice, but quite hard to put together by oneself.”

“Excellent communication from Get Laid Beds at every stage of the process and delivery timescale met. A few minor points. The assembly instructions need proof reading but thankfully the errors are fairly obvious. We needed to clamp the sides in the centre whilst fitting the slats to ensure a good fit. The outside back of one of the storage drawers was rough and not smoothly finished. Overall very pleased.”

“Lovely bed, weve only slept on it for a couple of nights so far, but it seems comfortable, and easy to lift the ottoman base. It is quite low, which I didn't expect, but actually really I really like. However it also means the under bed storage is not as generous as our old ottoman. The delivery was fine, but when it came to assembling the bed the instructions were poor. It took my husband the best part of a day: not clarifying important details made it very frustrating - he actually said Ikea instructions are the best, words I never thought I'd hear him say! Because the set up was so difficult I can only give it 3 stars.”

“Very disappointing! There is nothing on their site that mentions screwing the entire bed together. Not only that, a good portion of the screws cannot be screwed in because the bed rails are in the way. And the other screws are too close to the inside rail to fit any sort of drill. I'm livid. The wood is good quality, the assembly is worse than ikea at 5 times the price.”

As you were unhappy with the design of the bed frame and how it needs screws to securely keep it together we offered you the option to return the bed frame. You have declined this option. “The bed is great, good quality & sturdy, very pleased….the instructions on the other hand are terrible! This is something that needs looking at. Each piece needs labelling & the instructions need rewriting / drawing! Words were missing, pages not in the right order….drawings not true to size, very confusing when in-fact it’s quite easy to make! The instructions over complicated it! Apart from that, everything else was brilliant, the customer service is great, the product brilliant…just sort the instructions & labelling of parts!”

“The instructions manual is really poorly made, with some steps requiring to screw in parts based on the location of the ones installed in the following step. Some pre-drilled holes were not lined up properly, some parts had slight dints in them. For the price I was also expecting higher finishes/quality, especially when I make a point of buying UK-made to support our economy.”

“The bed was made of very soft wood. They don't provide the proper fasteners so that the pieces pull together tightly and permanently. One side of the bed can literally wiggle out of the headboard because the mortise must have cracked. I should have purchased the hard wood, now that I know the poor quality of the soft wood. Also, the varnish was poorly and unevenly applied. I wanted to love this bed because it came in a Full XL size, but I regret the purchase. Thankfully, my husband is a carpenter and is adding braces to make this a secure piece of furniture.”

There as been no communication from you to our customer service team regarding your concerns. Scandinavian pine is classed as a soft wood but is still durable for furniture. With all of our beds we supply metal screws to secure the mortice and tenon joints together, along with other components such as the slats to the inside long rails. “We wanted a bed frame made in the UK to go with our super-king UK made mattress. We chose getlaidbeds because we liked the simple well made design and the wider 'slats' which on most beds are not strong or wide. We were kept informed about the manufacturing progress and delivery was on time, well packaged and undamaged. The bed was easy to put together and looks great. We then made our own headboard for our musical bedroom – brilliant!”
