Go Outdoors - Go Get Ripped Off. Used Go Outdoors today to purchase some walking wear. Walked around the store weighing up the prices etc and purchased £372's worth of items accordingly. At the till we were asked if we were members etc and were then offered a discount card which would save us a minimum of 10% on all items. Excellent we thought, no brainer, so we spent an additional £5 for the discount. It was only when we got home a little later and started puzzling exactly what we had saved that we realised something was amiss. We were actually charged £372 but although the receipt said we had saved £157, the actual prices advertised in store amounted to the £372 stated. That is a saving of zero. Pretty fed up at the thought of not being given any discount, even though I had paid extra for a discount card, I phoned the store and was told that on the signs advertising each items price, was a very large pronounced bold price, which was the discount card price and then in tiny writing hidden amongst other details is a retail price. The way it is displayed is a very obvious (now in hindsight) practice of deceiving the customer and is there to make the bold price appear as the price you pay. Theres no comeback other than to return the goods, I'm going away tomorrow so simply don't have the option to return the items. However I do have the option of warning others about this deceptive practice and I also have the option to never set foot in this rip off store again.

Ordered some stuff for collection. Took over 10 days to be ready when it was just sitting on shelves in store. Then sent some very odd emails blaming me for them dispatching an order I had cancelled. It's been almost a month now and I've yet to receive a refund. The goods I ordered gave never been received by myself. They don't seem to trust themselves to return their own goods to their warehouse. Customer service is atrocious.

Offers some of the best prices, but that's of little use when they leave the item on your doorstep, especially at my high street home where the parcel is barely a metre away from a busy pavement. They use Hermes btw who will get a similar review. OK occasionally something goes wrong, but what is infuriating me is gooutdoors customer service response. They claim I only have 10 days to fill in a missing delivery form, a form they have emailed to me, but will not post to me. I don't have a printer, as I have told them. So I was asked to download an app to edit it, which reluctantly I did. However trying to use, save, and edit a form in an unfamiliar app, on a mobile phone, proved too frustrating for me. And so it continues. I will certainly never shop with gooutdoors again! And am worried I won't get my money back from this company.

I ordered and paid for 7 midge head nets. I then had an email to say only 4 were now available and refunded for 3 nets. Fine. However I was only sent 2 nets and not 4. I have emailed 6 times now and still after nearly 2 weeks have not been sent the missing nets or refunded!! One star rating is too high a score!!

We have just received our tent and we are very pleased with the whole process. It arrived very quickly with no problems, we were kept updated about the delivery. And the tent is fantastic. After reading so many bad reviews about go outdoors I was slightly worried however our experience was very good so definitely no complaints.

Unfortunately didn’t read these reviews before ordering a couple of baselayers online . After a few days received an email telling me the items were ready for collection in store . Upon arrival I was told the order had been “cancelled “ . The frazzled assistant told that for some reason “head office” was cancelling all orders & he advised me to make a complaint . I have emailed customer services requesting a refund & to leave an evidence trail if I have to escalate further. Judging by the other reviews it would seem there are multiple problems with this lot , so my advice would be AVOID

After seeing a toddler rucksack in stock at a local store online, we drive specifically to the store to check it fitted correctly and buy it. However, I was told it’s not in stock and the online stock checker was wrong, therefore we ordered the rucksack from the store and were told delivery can take up to 10 days but is likely to be only a few days. It arrived after 10 days in an open damaged box and ripped plastic bag, so the rucksack was not protected properly. We bought this rucksack specifically to carry a toddler for a hike we had planned and it didn’t arrive in time. If I’d known delivery was going to be an issue I would’ve bought the rucksack elsewhere. Customer services didn’t understand why I’m complaining and even say the box did its job as the rucksack wasn’t damaged! They refused to complain to Hermes who delivered it. It’s a £180 rucksack!

The one star is courtesy of the review site. Having purchased a new tent just over a year ago, due to covid was only able to use recently. Upon pitching the tent one of the poles was broken. Thanks to a fellow camper who had spare string I was able to fix it. Simply not good enough for the price you pay. The tent clearly wasn't new. Despite the standard copy and paste response advising to contact them the email sent was ignored. Please beware of what this company says and sells you.

Absolutely disgusting customer service!! None existence either in store (Wolverhampton) or on the telephone. Ordered goods online for click and collect all of which said they where in stock. Received email to collect, get to store and only a few items there. Then to be told that they have the items on the shelf but would have to pay for them again and wait upto 3 weeks for my refund! No help from anyone, could not tell me when rest of order would be delivered to the store, "err the items are in store you have them on the shelf???" It doesn't take a genius to work out what should be done??? Will never use Go Outdoors again and will advise friends and family not to do so either. Had excellent customer service when I was in store spending £1000's couldn't do enough for me. The worst company I have ever used especially online.

I have placed my order online with standard deliver of up to 10 days. As I have not received notification that my order was dispatched, I called customer services on day 9 and was advised that order is waiting to be picked up from the warehouse. On day 11 still no update, called the customer services and was told the same. I asked how long will it take to collect the order and dispatch, they were not able to provide me with time frame. I asked if I can collect my order or change the delivery address. They said it was not possible. I had to cancel my order and now waiting to see how long it will take to refund my money. Would not recommend to place any orders online if you don't want to be disappointed with delayed delivery.

Advertising is a little misleading if you don't read the fine print! Prices are fantastic IF you join their loyalty programme. Items purchased were acceptable.

Ordered 5 items simple water containers to ehu and a fridge.,,a toilet . Yes 14 days later my items arrived when I was at work.my partner took the order, only to find the fridge and electric hook up missing. Too cut a long story short. 3mths yes 3 mths it took me to battle to get my money back and having to prove I didn't get the other 2 items. I will never use this company ever again be it in store or online.. How would they like it if I walked in and picked up the items missing and walked out the shop.

I ordered two fleeces in October of 2020 after 1 month of missed delivery dates I emailed and asked when my package would be delivered they said it was not sent due to a tech issue but it should be sent asap. At this point I lost interest and asked for my money back. Once that email was sent they stopped responding it has been 9 months since the initial purchase and still no refund or items

Terrible customer service - wellington boots are leaking within months of purchasing from them online. Emailed twice with full details and no response. Then called them and they won't replace or let me send them in for replacement, they expect me to drive to my "nearest" store which would be a 2-3 hour round trip depending on traffic. No offer to refer to a manager - only option is to take into store. Not good enough guys!

False pretences. Went into their Warrington store with my son today and bought a pair of waterproof trousers for his birthday. Labelled up at £50 but when got to the till was charged £70. When questioned, the cashier said that was the club card price and I would need to buy a membership for £5. She also said that this was stated on the price ticket. However if it was I was unable to read it, it was that small. Sharp practice if you ask me and certainly will avoid Go Outdoors in future!

Went to Thurrock store Sunday 25/7/21 to buy wife's walking boots. Selected a pair of boots which were priced £100.00. When I got to the till I was asked if I wanted a membership card. I declined. Cashier then said the boots were £1135.00. I objected and pointed out they were clearly marked up for £100.00. Her answer was the advertised price was with membership discount. If I wanted the boots at that price I would have to pay £5.00 for a card. My wife wanted the boots so I paid for the card. Staff were completely unhelpful. The store could not measure feet either. I wonder if the practice is even legal. There should have been a clear notice saying the price advertised was only available with a membership card. Does anybody know if the practice is legal?

Two orders lost . Third one somewhere in pipeline. Semi abusive staff when chased up. A manager I spoke to says warehouse is in chaos , and for me "not to hold my breath" for delivery! Says if comes in the 10 day period I'll be very lucky. Shocking company , buy elsewhere.

By far the worse service ever. Ordered a 12V fridge on 03/07/2021 and was clearly quoted 5 to 10 day delivery. After 5 days the generic text arrived telling me that it is being picked. I cancelled the order on 14/07 as it was more than 10 days. Then to be told on 19/07 that the order can't be cancelled as it is now in store for collection. The worse company ever, will strongly advise people to not order online as the service is non existing.
