“visited the Gloucester store with my wife who wanted a new pair of walking boots.She has narrow feet and struggles to find boots that fit comfortably.Your staff member Alice B could not have been more helpful.She was very patient,helpful and above all knowledgeable. After trying on many boots we found the ideal fit and size in a Scarpa.Prior to our visit we intended to find the right boot but then shop online for the best price.In the end Alice proved so helpful that we bought from her and cannot commend her service highly enough.With staff like that the high street has hope.”

“I shopped at Sunderland. I met an amazing assistant called Lou. She was most helpful while I tried to decide and compare waterproof jackets. Then she came and helped me choose walking boots. having found several pairs of my size. Later found her and she got the correct size of fleece from the storage room. She was wonderful. I would like to draw your attention to her. she needs praise indeed. I was such a lovely shopping experience. my customer number was6333277 I was in the tore on 1st December a 15.21pm”

“I can't thank Josh and the Store manager at the Plymouth store enough. We purchased a Vango Verona Tent earlier on in the year from our Gloucester Store, when we arrived on holiday to pitch the tent we found 3 out of the 6 Airbeams had faults, We tried to keep the tent up as much as possible until we could contact someone the following day but completely collapsed on us during the night. 1 phone call to the nearest store which was in Plymouth ( we were in Newquay) and Josh said he would talk to the manager and get something sorted. We arrived a few hrs later and Andy the Manager said he hadn't got the exact one we purchased but could provide us with a exchange. We were so grateful and came away with a Areodome pro II tent, Its a fantastic tent easy to pitch and we feel a much better than our previous one we purchased ( location code 1365) Thank you to Josh & Andy for great customer service”

“Went to Peterborough store to buy some new walking boots. Got great advice from Sue who was very knowledgable and helpful. Although I had said that budget was not an issue she did not gravitate to the most expensive range but went to a lot of trouble to find me the comfiest pair. Once I had decided what I wanted she got onto the net to find the cheapest price, matched it and then discounted that by a further 10%. why go elsewhere. As a footnote(see what I did there) the Merrill boots I bought are amazingly comfortable.”

“I phoned Go outdoors to see if they had an item on display the staff member was more than happy to go and look and very helpful.. On visiting out local Newcastle store the staff were very attentive but not in our face and the store itself was well set out and very clean. can’t recommend it enough.. We bought what we wanted. :)”

“I originally telephoned my local branch for roof bars for my car. They checked prices and that the items were in stock. Advised me how I could get discount for a year. On purchasing my roof bars I found they were not a suitable fit. The assistants, all of them, fetched a different set and were trusting for me to try a bar on the car which I had outside in their car park. They fitted and the refund/exchange went through with no bother at all. Excellent service in every way. Will be visiting store and on line for any future requirements. Very pleased.”

“On a camping trip to Dorset my camping gas stove exploded and set light to the end of my brand new Hi Gear Kalahari Eclipse 8. My kids were inside the tent at the time. A horrible experience and certainly not the fault of Go Outdoors-the stove was an old one from a different camp shop. I phoned the Poole branch and explained my situation-we had another 4 days camping and a burnt tent! They said that if I returned the damaged one then they would lend me a tent so I could continue with the holiday. When I took the tent into the store they decided that they may as well just replace the tent for us at no extra charge. I was astonished, and so relieved, as I could not really afford to replace the tent myself. I can't thank the Poole staff enough for their kindness-Graham and Aaron (who took the initial call). The holiday could have been a disaster but they completely made it for us. Thanks so much. Rebecca, Elsie and Wilf Mason.”
