Recently I used green motion heathrow. I have used this outlet many times. Have been dealt with a gentleman here many times by the name of Zee. Have found him pleasant, friendly, speedy and professional. Was more than satisfied with my recent experience with greenmotion. 5 star review well deserved.

Essentially I have the same story as most other people on here (and 90% of the fellow customers I witnessed being conned in the 2+ hours I spent waiting in their Birmingham airport office). The usual "you're going to have to buy our full cover for £300+ because xyz". So I'll skip over that part and cover some of the other substandard aspects of my experience with them, including the rotten cherry on the cake at the end. So having waited for an eternity and having just paid nearly double what I was expecting to pay for the rental and clearly unhappy about it the agent tells me he'll soften the blow by giving me an upgrade to a better car. I'd booked a VW Golf (or similar!!!), and felt sure I would be getting the cheaper "or similar" version before I even turned up as those are the kind of small marketing deceptions we have come to expect these days. Fine, I can live with that for the price, but then being told my upgrade was a Kia Ceed was just an insult. I'm fine with that car and didn't care about an upgrade either way but for him to just lie to my face that this was an upgrade was an insult. When I returned the car I asked another agent about it and he told me the Ceed is the Golf equivalent, confirming that there was in fact no upgrade. For the record I didn't see any VW's in their carpark on either occasion so the old '...sometimes due to high demand we have to offer an equivalent...' doesn't wash with these guys; they simply advertise better cars than they actually have. On my way home I get a call from the Green Motion agent telling me he’s given me the wrong keys and I’ll have to sign another set of documents. No biggie, but just another indicator of the attention to service you get here. I returned the car 45 minutes early (careful not to be more than a few hours early as that incurs a fine!), to find the office staffed by just one guy who was so spectacularly incompetent at his job that he had to phone his boss no less than 4 times while dealing with customers ahead of me because he didn't know how to use the computer system and once to check if a card would still go through the machine because the customer hadn't signed the back of it. It was hard not to laugh at this point. Incidentally there did end up being some other unspecified problem with his card and it looked like he was about to get stung for another few hundred pounds too. Finally after waiting close to an hour I get to hand my keys over and go to inspect the car with the agent, who at this point locked up the office as he was by himself leaving the other customer outside with his issues still unresolved. Amazingly he didn’t find any damage, but after a short pause he says something along the lines of ‘but the car is actually pretty dirty so I’m thinking I’m going to have to charge a valeting fee’. I can’t remember ever feeling as furious as I was in this moment about to be conned out of yet more money and told him in far more forceful tones than I have ever used before that he can get that thought out of his head right this moment. He was referring to the outside of a car (it was spotless inside) that I’d rented for 2 weeks in England in the winter and just driven 40 miles on a wet motorway to bring back! I could understand if someone had thrown up on the seats or covered it in dog hair or whatever, but for normal road grime? He seemed a little taken back at the force of my response and by the time I’d filled him in on all the other ways I’d been screwed by Green Motion already he decided to let it slide, although I will be keeping an eye on my credit card for a while. In short they will try to screw you in any way they can. I wish I’d read the reviews, seen the TV programmes and read the BBC articles about this company first.

Just like everybody else on this site. I hired a car from a darken shed during the evening. When I returned it they deducted over £1000 from me for a pit mark on the lower corner of a windscreen. Not even a clear piece of glass. They alleged there are two dents that the camera can not even find. Total rip off, wish I had seen this site first!!

We hired a car from the Glasgow Airport and were served by a representative called Solomon. He was quite simply sexist, rude and arrogant and behaved like he was better than me. The condescending asshole made me wait unnecessarily for the car by standing there chatting to his colleague. I was really annoyed and had asked if he could be quicker as I had to rush to collect my visitors. Never again will I use Green Motion. Zero customer service! I wasn't the only customer that had an issue with them at the same time. There is nothing green about this company - they make you print everything! It's ridiculous!

Same complaint as everyone else, damage that was discovered under the car in a matter of seconds, crooks wanted 1049 GBP off me for paint transfer. They changed my form after I left and added damage that doesn't exist. COMPLETE CROOKS DO NOT RENT FROM THEM

SCAM - I rented a car from GreenMotion on 13 December 2019. They immediately charged my credit card with GBP1400. Charged, not hard hold. Upon returning the vehicle in 15 December 2019, I was told there is a bump on the tailgate, the repair of which I needed to pay for. Three inspectors seemingly went straight to the same dent. The photos attached show that it is barely discernible, if at all. After much shouting, the supervisor suddenly disappeared and I could only deal with the checkout staff. Suddenly, I was told they knew the exact price of what it would cost to fix: GBP304. The staff kindly showed that they would deduct this from the deposit and repay to my the balance. I am now beside myself, after having read the reviews online. These people are SCAMMERS. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

I paid over 1200 Aussie for a scratch on bumper and I mean a scratch , they also made us wait 2 hrs to collect us from Manchester and again taking us back . Green Motion target is to make money by ripping off people, but not by providing good service or helping customers. I booked rental car and full insurance through broker. On arrival sales was trying very hard to up sell a better class car and their in house insurance. I advise that I don't need any of this as am covered by brokers insurance. Then we had to agree on maximum miles as their allowance was less than I had booked with broker and they tried to convince me that I have to purchase unlimited mileage for an extra cost. Once I showed them my booking they unwillingly included the extra miles I booked. On receipt of car I inspected the car and took photos. Car was severely damaged on most sides (scratches and dents). On return car was inspected again and staff found 2 "new" small scratches and a small cut on tyre. Just to clarify both scratches were in areas close to existing damage. These were very fine and hard to notice in photos, particularly because I took pre-collection photos late in the evening with limited lighting. I was charged excessively for the damage (most of the deposit). After few days they calculated damage and advised that I will be refunded 30% of the charge within 5-7 working days. It now has been 8 days and after follow up email I got reply that this is processed today and I will be refunded within 5-7 days. Just to note I can't claim my money from broker's insurer until I get this refund in the bank account. So overall very annoying experience. Avoid!

Green Motion aims to make money, but not by providing good service. Because of a delayed flight I missed the last train towards home. Not wanting to be stuck at Stansted at night because I was needed at home for the kids, I booked a car online with Green Motion through Expedia. Expedia has been reputable, so likely Green Motion is also, right? I guess not. I booked a car with them to secure an automatic (hence rare in the UK and 3 times as expensive at £139.00), because my UK license requires it, though I drove manuals overseas for decades. It turns out one can neither drop off the car elsewhere nor add a driver who isn't present, even with a scan of her licence. Neither of those policies is absurd, but it made the rental pointless if my goal was to go home. So I didn't take the car. How much of a refund did I get from Green Motion? Nothing, despite going through Expedia. So for my tying up a car for c. 3 hours (which probably wasn't at all sure to be rented otherwise), riding a shuttle bus, and sitting in their office for 15 minutes, they choose to keep all £139.00. Why? Because they could. I infer that they don't care about providing good service, only about making money in the short run. On later reading other people's horror stories at being charged £1000 or more for damage that they didn't cause, I realize that I got off easily by never touching a car! I hope Expedia will drop Green Motion. Though Green Motion ripped me off 100%, Expedia, to its credit, did offer partial compensation when I threatened to cancel my account.

I have experience of 2 centres for Green Motion - Bristol and Edinburgh and they could not be more different. Bristol are super friendly, efficient and not mega suspicious when you return the car. However, Edinburgh is a different thing altogether. When I walked in, all 4 staff were talking together and ignored me. They then made a big issue about the fact that my credit ard is in my middle name (whcih I am called), while my passport and driving licence have both my first and middle name. This escalated to the point where they were going to refuse me a call, when one of them (with very bad grace) said "Just give her one." This really was the last straw as previously I was charged for damage underneath the car front, which you could only tell by running a hand under it! And I never park front into a space, so can't see how I could have damaged car. The whole experience was so negative and abusive, that I came away feeling quite bruised and vowing never to use again, despite the nce staff in Bristol; it just left such a bad taste. AVOID!!!!

Do not use this company. They will charge you ridiculous amounts for absurd ‘damage’ - a mark under 1mm on the windscreen that could not be seen unless under a torch and feeling with you hand. Customer service was horrific and the whole experience has left a distinctly bad taste in our mouths. Stay away!! They are criminals.
