“Arrived in Glasgow from Australia after very long flights, was welcomed with paying a large £ 1,205.00 on our credit card! Also car was supplied with quarter of tank of fuel. To add to my stress she just about run out of fuel on way to Perth trying to find a fuel station. Come on guys at least fill the bloody car up. Service was terrible. Two people were in grief trying to pay large credit card deposits. Will NEVER use Green Motion again.
Very poor service!!!

“Unfortunately my experience with Holiday Autos site is very bad. Firstly I rented a car from Holiday Autos site that provided Green Motion’s company as local supplier in Gdansk in Poland.
When we arrived to Gdandsk in 27-12-2019 we surprised at Green Motion had no office in Gdansk airport. So we phoned them then one of the employees came after 20 minutes to pick us from the airport to their office location. There we agreed on that he would meet us on our departure day, 1-1-2020, before our flight at the same place to pick us again to the airport, the same way we came from the airport.
We did exactly what we agreed on together. We waited beside the office 45 minutes, which was locked with t.v on. No answer, more than 7 calls on his phone numbers that say 24/7 active lines and I sent more than 2 messages. Then we had to take the decision to head off to the airport and parked the car in airport parking. 6 hours after, the employee called us to know location of the car without apologizing even. After 2 hours Green Motion company sent email to me saying at they charged me 73,80 EUR as penalty for at the vehicle has not been left in the designated place. At the same time, Amount of 74 EUR was also deducted from my credit card balance av. I tried to contact them but they didn’t answer. Then I reported a complaint (PL485184440, case: 01341108) to Holiday Autos site which after one and half month said at they can’t do anything! Now I will report my bank for at I have all documents that support my case.”
“The bus to the Green motion office at Stansted only runs twice each hour, so if you just miss it you've a half hour wait. The 'gentleman' in the office at the Novotel in Stansted was trying the hard sell, wanting to push me into buying insurance and barking at me when I said I wanted like for like in terms of fuel 'so you don't even want to listen to your options?'. It was too dark to check the car for damage in the car park but luckily I checked it the next morning and sent a photo before 10am. I won't use Greenmotion again because I didn't feel comfortable with the manner and tone of the staff and as a lone female I would prefer to be in a better lit busier rental situation.”
“I was scammed. Charged £936 for a near invisible scratch that was obviously there when I picked up the car. (It was the only spot the man cleaned when I returned the car, he knew it was there)”
“A simple £2.50 fine for missing a road toll was issued to me. I paid it directly to the authority and sent the receipt to Green motion. They then charged me $166 AUD (£85) for the administration.
Insane, and ruined holiday memories!”
“DONT GO THERE. its not worth it. pay the little extra for decent service a helpful well presented staff and a clean car. this place needs to be closed down. British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (BVRLA). please help.???????????? Watchdog please investigate.”
“Similar Experience today (Jan. 31, 20200 as you per the "Insurance Scam" Trap, this one with Green Motion's Mnchstr Airport) This variation = Misleading wording of license requirements and/or individual staff practices appear to be designed to dupe customers into purchasing comprehensive insurance. Process = post very cheap pre-paid rates online to get customers' money in advance (225 GBP for 28 days). When customer shows up to pick up vehicle, Green Motion states that they cannot rent you the vehicle even when your non-UK license is valid, putting the customer at risk of (a) losing their pre-payment = too late to cancel, and (b) being stuck without a vehicle. Then Green Motion staff report to the customer that they'll see if they can work something out. That's when Green Motion staff say that they can only rent you the vehicle if you purchase comprehensive insurance (500 GBP). Classic bait & switch = 225 GBP becomes 725 GBP. If customer does not take the bait (i.e., does not purchase comprehensive insurance), then Green Motion will not issue the pre-paid vehicle to the customer & customer loses the prepayment and has no vehicle. Green Motion's own written policy states that "All drivers must have held their driving license for at least 2 years." I have held my driving license for over 40 years. The Manchester Green Mountain staff operated, in my case, in a manner NOT consistent with the wording of the aforementioned official policy. The Manchester Green Motion staff's practice is more clearly captured by the following: "If a non-UK driver presents a valid license printed in English that has an initial issue or renewal date that is less than two years old from the date of vehicle hire, we will (a) not honor the pre-paid booking but still charge the customer, then (b) inform the customer that they can only get the vehicle by paying - in addition to the original pre-paid amount - for full comprehensive insurance." Deceptive wording and practice = no conducive to good business practice/ethics. Moreover, the policy - even if written clearly - fails to account for common sense realities, including the fact that drivers have to RENEW their licenses periodically. I will be seeking reimbursement for my prepaid rental, at a minimum, and querying Green Motion about their role and responsibility for additional costs I incurred as a result of their actions. And, no, I did not take the bait. In addition to not obtaining my pre-paid rental today, I have cancelled three subsequent bookings, each of which was also for 28 days, as I cannot trust that Green Motion Manchester will honor pre-paid bookings. In 40+ years of hiring vehicles in the UK and other countries, I have never experienced this outcome. Moreover, in most countries, attempts to dupe customers into purchasing comprehensive insurance coverage are not consistent with law or consumer protection regulations.”

“BEWARE
BEWARE - CHARGE FOR DAMAGE NOTCAUSED BY ME.
To say I am dissatisfied and disappointed at Greenmotion's findings is an understatement.
As Greenmotion's conteact states, " you would have been asked to inspect the vehicle and sign the vehicle condition report, prior to the commencement of your hire, and in the event that the collection of the vehicle took place in poor weather or light conditions you would also have been advised that you had until 10am the following day to verify that you were happy with the condition of the car as illustrated on the Vehicle Condition Report."
I did follow these guidelines and sent an email with photographs attached showing the damage. My.photographs 1, 2, 3 and 4.
Greenmotion"s photographs, pjotographs 5 and 6, allegedly both taken at the same show two different types of damage. Again I am unable to attach the photographs.
I have asked, 'Please explain to me why in the bottom photograph- photograph 6 - is the damage slightly different. They were supposedly taken at the same time."
I have asked, "Please qualify, with photographic evidence, exactly what damage you are alleging I have caused. Please clearly highlight the damage.'
"I feel your findings are spurious and advise, until such times as you can categorically prove the alleged damage, that you do not draw any payment."
Much to my consternation the day after this email was sent to Greenmotion, they took the money from my credit card.
Bumper scratch - £232.00
Damage Service Fee - £35.00
Total Charge - £267.00
DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY.
I am very angry as I have used Greenmotion for many car hires each year. I have car hire insurance and if, or when, I havd had an accident I have immediately informed Greenmotion and my Car Hire Insurance company.
IIt is senseless for me not to report damage as I am insured.
I have already paid, ahead of time, for one further car hire from Greenmotion I will now try to cancel. I am thoroughly disgusted with Greenmotion.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.”

“After our recent holiday in UK, I have been charged with an admin fee of £84 for a parking fine. I have paid this even though we already left the UK. But still emails were coming in from a guys named Adam Hayworth from Goodwin Lee Investments that I still need to pay even if I already did. I responded back that this is already extortion and I will send this review to all so that they will be aware. Worst part of our holiday. Beware of this company, go somewhere else.”
“I have been the most recent scammed customer
Heathrow M4J4
They found damage worth £1205 on my returned Citroen c3
I uploaded an image of damaged car, I challenge you to find the damage!!!”
“Never again. Typical sharp practice as mentioned in other reviews. Checked the car but missed a small scuff just under front spoiler. £355, Chips Away would have fixed it for less than £100. The car was not damaged whilst in my possession. Holiday Inn, Heathrow, M4 Junction 4 Black Kia, front spolier lower lip, I wonder how many thousands they have learnt from this? Trading Standards really need to get a grip of these people, We are all lambs to the slaughter.”
“Excellent service. Staff are very friendly and go out of their to assist is there is a little hiccup. The vehicles are all top quality. Between myself and my husband we have now used them on 4 occasions and will do every time in the future.
You cannot go wrong.”
“Will never hore from them again. Received a PCN from a provate parking company and they charge £84 for providing your details electronically.
Complete con and twice as much as other hire car companies.”

“I had very bad experience with the…
I had very bad experience with the company and a lengthy open and unresolved case regarding company's unauthorized charges and unacceptable customer service at car rental office. Unfriendly and almost totally unreachable personnel at company's headquarters, no available decision-maker to look at the case and help with it's resolution.
Car rental low prices with Green Motion is a trap. In the end I was charged twice the amount for 4 days of rental in Miami, FL, part of this charge was unauthorized amount of the car insurance, despite the fact that I presented the proof of my existing insurance coverage to the clerk at car pick-up and I was assured by that clerk that there will be no insurance charge and all the documents and the payment method that I presented were sufficient.
I did not get a printed copy of my agreement despite my request with the clerk, nor I was given any paperwork during the car drop-off visit of the office.
I strongly advise not to deal with Green Motion rental due to the lack of quality customer service and incompetent and not-trustworthy staff at car pick-up offices.”
“Beware of admin charges for road traffic offences! We hired a car through green motion and forgot to pay the DART charge (£2.50). We received an £84 admin charge from green motion for sending us an email informing us about the charge and the fact they had passed our details onto the DART team who would charge us separately for the actual missed charge (another £80). Although we were totally in the wrong forgetting about the charge, the £84 is a ridiculous fee bearing in mind the level of admin effort green motion put in. For comparison we’ve also done the same thing with Avis who just paid the charge on our behalf - no fines, no charges. Such a better service.”
“Return a rental car and on two rims a small bit of paint came of / no scratch but maybe of the bad roads and weather conditions!
They withhold £400 deposit.
On car pick up both rims on the Left wheels had scratches and they claim Ive caused it!!
They pointed it out to me on pick up but on the rental paper only one was marked!!
Never never use this company!!!
Its a Huge Rip Off!!!!”
