Bunch of inexperienced and unprofessional youngsters. First time used them and misguided from head office to the collection office. Everyone says different things just want your money and try to push you to spend more by their doggy recommendations. They have charged me extra for the agreed time by the head office. I have been given 59 minutes grace time my head office to return the car but when arrived on time before the grace 59 minutes with family and luggage to inform about the grace time. They just refused even showed the email very very rudely. My family including very old and ill parents had to wait on the footpath for long time. No humanity at all.

Recently had a micra size car booked,to collect at Preveza Airport Greece with Green motion. (gave them 2nd chance after waiting 1.5hrs passed our arranged collection time last time we went to Greece. My advice is do not give them a "first" chance as it could cost you thousands unless you are very careful. The plane was delayed by 2 hrs,so on arrival was told our pre-booked car had gone, we would have to pay for upgrade to bigger/better car! This was a 1litre Skoda Fabia that to me is not an upgrade worth the £80 we were charged.(they even made me sign a disclaimer form that appeared like this was a regular scam they used!) Also as it was dark and late the male staff member gave us defect note to fill in when it was day light and said take photos. I asked for copy of previous "return" sheet that would show any noted damage but was told no. I took video and photos in car park using torch and again more thoroughly in morning noting all the damage. On return after 2 weeks they did their best to find some thing to charge me for, but had not expected the amount of photo evidence I had and gave up after viewing a small selection of what I had recorded including some semi hidden damage some people may not see, but was asked for pictures. Have since seen a lot of reviews with similar complaints, costing some Thousands. They may be cheapest hire company at time,but may try to recoup this on vehicle return. BEWARE. On a good note car had good aircon and didnt let us down.

Absolute shambles of a company. Avoid at all costs! The guy at the Edinburgh office refused to release the car that we had pre-paid for because he wanted to see a physical copy of our passport and would not accept any other form of identification. As we were travelling from Manchester to Edinburgh, we didn't bring our passports with us (you wouldn't if you're not going to leave the country!) We inform him that we had a copy of our council tax and a copy of our bank statement that we could show him, but he still refused to give us the car. Agree with other reviewers that they are the most fraudulent car hire company out there!

Absolutely terrible company who cheats its customers just to make a little bit of profit. Example: gives you a car with an empty fuel tank, expecting the same at return. Meaning 1) you need to get petrol asap after picking up the car (a real pain) and 2) you'll always finish up with some petrol in the tank, which the company gets for free! Actually the perfect way for Greenmotion to insult its customers! Will never use again, and neither should you!

We booked 16th to 19th August to see Edinburgh tatoo. Carjet was quoting including extra insurance £63 for a Kia Picanto for the 3 days via a hire firm called Green Motion. After closely examining my Carjet paperwork Greenmotion refused to hire me the vehicle. They said as I had put my name as Bill instead of Williamtheir insurers would not accept this. I asked for them to rectify the error with a new document plus pointing out my signatures on both my livence and passport is in fact Bill, but they refused to do this. They instead rebooked my hire from scratch and the cost jumped to £290 plus £200 excess (£490) for 3 days. As there were no other hires available I had to take it. Green Motion were also able to inform me I would not get any refund from Carjet for the original booking with them as my window for doing so was expired. So total cost of hire was £553 for 3 days hire of a small car. TOTAL RIP OFF MERCHANTS

I would void at all costs. Hired a car after advice not to (stupid I know). Learnt my lesson the hard way and paid for it. Has funds stolen from my account 1 month after hire as the deposit had not been released. Still following up.

I rented a car in July 2019 at LHR office. When we came to pick up the car there were 6 or 7 people in a queue before us, so we were waiting for more than 1,5 hour. The agent at the counter spent another half an hour to fill in all the forms and scan the docs. During the trip and at checkout everything was okay. One month after Green Motion communicated that they received a parking fine, and they charged me around 80 GBP (!) just to advise the traffic police my contact details to re-assign the fine. Okay. But in a week Green Motion charged me another 80 GBP to deal with the same fine, just because the road police mistakenly issued the same fine again. Instead of checking everything properly (I think it's not hard for 80 GBP fee), Green Motion formaly forwarded my contact details to police again and charged another 80 GBP for it. When I contacted them to clarify the situation, the answer was I should contact the traffic police to withdraw the second fine - can you imagine?! And that they will only release the money when they receive notification the fine is cancelled. But the 80*2 GBP was not charged to settle the fine, but just to handle the request! I would never deal with this company again.

.. SCAMMERS.. cheap prices to reel in customers, then hit you with 1200 deposit in credit card.. or if you've got a debit card, your rental price increases 200 or 300 percent.. wtf..

Terrible service. 1 hour to collect, very slow and awkward service, when given the keys to pick up from the parking area the car wasn't there and they had to go and find it in somewhere else. Clearly not superclean we just took it and left as we were incredibly late for lunch with friends. Straight into the motor way and 15 minutes after leaving the rental a scary light went off on the dash board and a warning indicating oil level at minimum and instructed to stop immediately to top up. But the worst for last, when returning the car they suddenly claimed a broken windscreen. Flabbergasted i went to see and they pointed me at a tiny chip almost imperceptible even for photos that definitely did not happen with the car in our possession. Nothing to discuss, they just inform you they will replace the windscreen and send the bill. I was terribly upset as clearly this was surely a trick from the rental, unfortunately there was nothing we could do to prove and so will have to pay. Let’s see what comes out of this but from what I am reading now in The Guardian for example, this could be the beginning of an unpleasant lengthy fight. As we are positive there was not a single event, noise or indication that it could have happened during our rental I can only draw the conclusion that this company uses not too recomendable business strategies to extract money from the user. It was my first and surely last time renting with this company and you should consider it twice before going for this apparent cheaper rental.

DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM THIS COMPANY!! We had booked a car way ahead of time. When we came to pick up the car and after waiting an hour to be served, I was asked for a credit card for a deposit and when my husband handed over his, we were told that no, because i had booked it then it had to be my card. I told them I did not have a credit card and that he was my husband with the same name. They then said they would do me a favour and put a 250 pound deposit onto my debit card, providing we took out their insurance!! We had already taken out insurance but were told that the previous insurance that we had purchased was not eligible and that we would have to pay 650 pounds for their insurance!! That was the point when we walked out, there was no way we were going to rent from them and pay their extortionate prices! We then went to Avis where we had a hassle free rent experience, no excessive insurance, no problems with unlimited mileage, and no problems with the return!

I would avoid this company like the plague. Most importantly, do not ... I repeat, DO NOT book a rental from this company unless you purchase excess insurance coverage from a third party insurer. Green Motion initially wanted to charge us an additional 865 pounds for required coverage (for a 13 day rental). While both picking up and dropping off the car, almost every customer at the counter was expressing outrage/dismay/surprise at various additional charges that far exceeded the rental charge for the cars: one being charged an additional 80 pounds a day for use of an ATM card; another being charged an exorbitant charge for a minor scratch on the front bumper; another facing a massive charge for insurance coverage (like us). We travel to Glasgow three or four times a year to visit family but will never rent from this company again.

I rented in Leicester. These people are crooks - pure and simple. I was charged for pre-existing damage to the car. It also caused me serious inconvenience. You don't expect a brand new car with less than 1000 miles on it to break down, and yet this car did, less than 24h after I collected it.

The car was fine and e were let off being a 15 minutes late returning the car, for which I am grateful. However, I am really disappointed that we were charged for 2 small scratches we failed to see when we took the car. These were on the boot and said to have been caused by luggage. We were extremely careful with our luggage and literally used the boot only for arrival and departure. I find it suspicious that the worker knew exactly where to remove the dirt in order to see reveal the scratches. I would not use them again.

Rip off, awful customer service. I was charged £1300 for 3 small scratches, 2 of them minor ones. I was also charged 36£ for being late 1 minute after the collection time. The company allowed me to book the car at 7pm, I arrived at their office at 7:01 (the doors were opened) and they charged me for out of hours service. A joke, will never use them ever again.

Why on earth do you advertise green motion! They should be closed down they are such an corrupt company you only have to see the reviews. I had 1088 pound taken from my account no warning apparently because of scratches. When I arrived they had numerous complaints so I took photos of pick up and drop off! They were on bbc new last January about dishonest practices!! You should not deal with this company !

I've spent 2 weeks in costa rica and before have read a lot of reviews talking about how bad the experience can be, with scams, problems with crédito cards etc. and sincerly i was a bit worries. Fortunently nothing of this happened with my booking with green motion. I've booked a 13 data Rental through a 3rd party - rentals.com with full insurance included (reccomended in costa rica). Let just to pay directly to green motion the GPS Rental. Before i've departed i wrote an e-mail to green motion in the uk and they reconfirmed my reservation, what was included and what was not and which deposit i need to let at the credit card. I felt more confortable having the direct confirmation from them and the customer service was great. At costa rica collecting and dropping the card went all well, i was just reccomended to hire a second driver for a special price which we accepted with no problem. I was also surprised that the 1000 us deposit in my crédito card was automatically released. The service was also super Nice, with Luís welcoming us and explaning everything very friendly. As green motion doesnt have a Office at the airport (is 5 minutes away), they collect us with a transfer and also on our departure they let us There. I reccomend that you clean well the car inside and outsid. We did that and no problems or extra charged. I found the value for money very good (we got a Toyota 4x4). Highly reccomend green motion in costa rica.

Do not use this company. We booked through carjet and were directed to Green Motion in Athens to collect our hire car. Really poor quality car offered. Significant damage to bodywork and interior. No possibility to provide any alternative in any category. Told us they don’t have time to repair damage to cars between rentals - they simply hand it on to the next customer. No apology- this is standard practice in this company apparently. Very dissatisfied and would not recommend.
