They charged us almost 4 hundreds pounds for a “damage” on the bumper. It was not a real damage but there was no way to discuss with them. They are very dishonest and rogue people. Strongly recommend everyone to avoid rent a car with these people.

if i could give no stars i would! i wish we can sue this company for borderline criminal practices! i could never imagine wanting to pay $500.00, at the Miami location, for insurance. We had full coverage insurance and they STILL proceeded to charge us. absolutely violated. we wanted to start the vacation right and honestly this bullcrap amount ON TOP of $300.00 - thieves. i will spread the word and make sure people hear the experience we had.

Warning these guys will scam you and will be aggressive if challenged. We booked here through easyJet and paid £249 in advance for a small car for 5 days. When my partner our 3 young children and me landed, after several calls to the company we were told to wait in the multi story car park in a parking spot for pickup. It took nearly 30 minutes with no seats and cars zooming past. When we got to the desk the manager said because my credit card expired this year (it was still in date) they would have to charge me full insurance which was an extra £290. More than the car hire. When I suggested we go back to the airport and rent a car there, he refused to give us a lift back. When I asked for a refund of the booking he refused. I explained to my partner we had been had for £300, and we agreed to just pay and go because the children were getting stressed. When I went back the manager decided he’d changed his mind (?!) and refused to let me take a car. Or refund etc. he said he was offended that we didn’t want the offer the first time around! At the same time another customer was being shouted at by his colleague. The customer had come back to the car rental office after finding £500 had been taken on his credit card with no authorisation. I listened for a while and neither of us could understand why the company had taken the £500. They were aggressive with the customer for challenging them and he left very upset. Eventually I filmed the manager and asked the same questions, and this time he agreed to let us take the car for £530 plus a deposit!! When we returned it they spent 20 minutes checking the car over for scratches. (Even though we had full insurance?). There was no damage at all they could charge us for. However we left being told they would refund our deposit in SIX weeks (?!) and to call them if It didn’t show up in my account then. (I have little expectation that it will be returned) All in all a very unpleasant experiance. Gutted as we went through easyJet thinking they would chose a reputable company. This is the sort of dodgy car hire operation you’d expect to find in the third world, not Glasgow! We also felt very sorry for the other customer and thankful they didn’t have our credit card details! I would never use them or easyJet booking again

From my experience, avoid at all costs. Upon picking the car up, i felt slight intimidation to push me into buying extra insurance and to reduce the £1205 deposit from my credit card. However, the car pick-up was otherwise okay. Upon return, they noted a small windscreen chip with a 4mm crack and on the passenger side. I was informed they would withold my £1205 deposit as the car needed a new windscreen. As a former mechanic and vehicle inspector of many years, i knew this was utter nonsense. The windscreen could be easily repaired for about forty pounds, whereas a totally unnecessary windscreen replacement costs hundreds. I've since sent pictures to several windscreen companies. All say that it is easily repaired for minimum cost. There is no justification whatsoever for their extortionate and false claim. These people are scam artists and i wonder how many other poor unfortunates they try this on per week. If it isn't suitably resolved, i will be complaining to Trading Standards, contacting media outlets and taking legal action.

I spent some time online looking at other Green Motion- Leicester reviews and consistently the Leicester company was reviled for a host of bad services, dishonest arrangements, and sheer lack of genuine customer care. My personal experiences with Green Motion involve two occasions: June 2022 and January 2023. Regarding the June situation, Green Motion failed to have the economy or compact sedan which was reserved many weeks prior to pick-up. Instead the company tried to foist a VERY LARGE commerical van as a suitable vehicle replacement. I didn't feel comfortable driving something that large with blind spots on British roads and a steering wheel on the right side. So the day's planning was aborted and I cancelled the booking which was prepaid. The January incident was far more damning. My girlfriend and I drove away in a Mini Cooper. We were not clearly informed that the car was at 1/4 fuel; in the U.S. all rentals come with a full tank. Green Motion knew that we were driving to Oxford for an overnight stay. A few miles from Oxford after 90 minutes of driving, we ran out of fuel on M40 and was lucky enough to get to the highway shoulder. This was harrowing. We had two forms of roadside assistance (BMW/Mini Cooper & a separate company "RAC" paid by Green Motion). We began with BMW assistance calling via the car's computer and were told there would be a 90 minute wait. We called Green Motion next and were directed to try RAC. RAC told us the wait was 45 minutes. We cancelled BMW assistance to avoid double services. RAC arrived over 3 HOURS later, despite our frequent follow up calls. Our location was dangerous and it was raining in winter - making being outside the car dearly uncomfortable. Moreover, my girlfriend had lung surgery weeks ago and needed water for medication. We had no water in the car. After getting gas from RAC, we filled up immediately 2 miles away. Upon returning the Mini Cooper, Green Motion detected minor chipping on one wheel hub and socked us with $850 surcharge. The Mini Cooper had many scratches around the body, which was noted by the rental rep upon delivery. I didn't check the wheel hubs and don't know the prior condition. I have to assume then that Green Motion bills clients for cosmetic damages but never gets around to repairing said damages. Green Motion suggested I go after the credit card company to find reimbursement for the $850 charge. While I await the credit card company response to my claim, I'm furious also that Green Motion gave NO CREDIT for a 3/4 tank of gas and no apology for how we were stranded on M40 for three hours. This would be $50 courtesy; after all Green Motion is getting the benefit of a car stranded and retanked for safety! Again, I have to assume that Green Motion has some cognition that Americans in U.K. may believe car rentals have a full tank and therefore there would be a little more emphasis on the fuel status upon leaving the rental lot. In short, Green Motion is a car rental firm from Hell and they deserve a boycott for a dozen brutal years. They are in the game for short term profits and no customer loyalty whatsoever.

Bullies and charged £2500 deposit on a normal car. Then tried to bully me into taking a car I hadn’t booked after keeping me waiting so long that anyone else would have agreed, just to finish with them and get on their way. But I took a taxi home instead and now still haven’t been reimbursed by Carjet who say I should have cancelled before the car collection time. It was because Green Motion weren’t ready with my car and the long delay to assist me which was not my responsibility. What a terrible terrible company ethos.

Stay away at any cost from green motion they are total scammers, and they do the same trick again and again to costumers. They charge you a huge deposit like 1400 GBP then they offer you a full protection for about 700 GBP so now you trapped if you pay the 700 which is a huge amount, they got the money they wanted and if you disagree and say you have full protection or you not interested taking it from them then they will make sure to blame you for any stupid thing on the car although it was there when you took it. they will charge the full amount of the deposit and will not send you any legal documents so you can't even claim it from any insurance even if you had one. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMANY AT ANY COST. THEY ARE SCAMMERS

For starters, they lie. They claim to be an airport rental but they are not. They are not located to the airport and it is quite a drive to get to them. They do provide a pickup service BUT NOT A RETURN SERVICE. The guy who picked us up was rude and tried to make us feel bad for not paying the parking fee even though they said they were an airport rental. They gave us a vehicle that was not what we ordered or even in the same class. It ended up being a large van. They told us someone would stay late for drop off after closing and not only are their posted return hours incorrect on their website they refused to stay late after we made hotel reservations and everything, because of that they cost us way more money. They took a deposit of over $1,000 US dollars for damage and then the vehicle was returned with a scratch. They didn't send any of the legal paperwork of what the fees were and refused to return any funds. No way a scratch is $1,040. They were rude, they lied, they cost us so much more time and money because of it. Scam isn't even a proper word, they are outright thieves and liars. Worst experience of my life with a rental company.

DO NOT USE Green Motion - after the rental they hit me with two big unauthorized charges they said were PCNs for congestion charges in London - they were bogus - wrong model and colour of car. Also I was able to show credit card receipts from where I actually was in North Yorkshire at the same time as the PCNs. They will not respond to my emails.

Worst car hire company ever. They lie to you and if you have a small bump massively overcharge you. They take huge a deposit and you will not see it again. Customer services do not reply to your emails once they have your money. Avoid this company.

Scam company, ensure you check the outdoor condition of the car thoroughly before rental as they regularly try to charge over €300 to fix scratches that are next to invisible on the car

Individual employee, CHARLIE at Stansted was EXCELLENT - 5 star. Unfortunately service after that was poor. Absolutely zero interest in customer service, clearly no sense of understanding that with a plethora of car rental companies to choose from public opinion and reviews do matter, no sense that a customer is more likely to return to a company with whom they have had a good experience. Our circumstances changed meaning we needed to return the car early - impossible to speak to a manager on the phone (they were in meetings all day, apparently). Really disappointing, especially after a positive experience when we collected the car.

AVOID this company
We rented a car for 5 days in Paphos, Cyprus. After one day we opted to return the car due to heavy road construction throughout Paphos. The Green Motion agent expressly stated that we would be refunded the money for the unused days. However, after not receiving the refund and going through the claims process, Green Motion denied having to pay the refund because of the some fine print in the agreement. From a legal perspective, the contract was actually modified by the agent representing that there would be a refund. A real criminal outfit. AVOID!!!!

Don't allow employees Peter and Edward from Green Motion's Glasgow location make you into a victim as they are scammers when you return a car. Their low prices are an attempt to get you to book then make an exorbitant profit by unscrupulously assessing damage charges. They need to be investigated. If you are a victim of their egregious profit practices complain directly to Green Motion CEO, Richard Lowden at linkedin.com/in/richard-…. Here is one example whereby Green Motion claimed there was damage to a bumper, yet there is no dent, no bump, nothing but dirt from rain and mud. They assessed us almost £400 to replace the entire bumper. We were already deeply saddened by the funeral we attended for a close family member and this disgraceful treatment unnecessarily inflicted additional pain on us. Look at this picture and tell me where the damage is?

Green motion Stansted Airport - NEVER AGAIN! Charged £160 for a micro scratch on the alloy wheel that was present when I got the car. For that money you can buy a new wheel. Who knows how many customers were already charged for the same irrelevant “damage” before me. A pitty, the car was nice, but when you are in a hurry to catch your flight you don’t have time to stand for justice. My advice to anyone reading, go for another rental company!
