“Ordered item online. Said it was available at my local branch so used "Click and collect" . Then got a phone call from the branch to say that the item was unavailble at that branch. When I pointed out what the website had stated, I was told this was due to an "error" in the stock program. I was advised to go to the next branch, 25 min drive each way as they had 2 items in stock. When I asked how they knew this, they said they had looked it up online(!) When I pointed out that this had already proved unreliable, They suggested I phone the branch directly to check. The phone number you get online is the same for all branches and reaches a central switchboard - I was told you can't contact branch directly. Working through the steps in the recorded menu it initially told me to check stock online - which was particularly annoying as this is how the problem started. When I finally got through to a human being I explained, and the lady said she would contact the branch for me to check their stock. Shortly after, she got back to me to say that the branch were not answering her calls, so she could do nothing for me, End of call.”

“Ordered wiper blades yesterday and fitting at local National Garage today. Made garage appointment . Arrived -no wiper bladeshad arrived . National attendant used F word to describe Halfords website in front of my 4 year old Grandson. asked for refund. Never again.”

“Hey there… how can I fix my issue with the bike light from your shop? It’s still damaged and you are closed in Claptham junction… You should block people on the chat support… I have the receipt online. You should have an option to fix the customer issue and to stop selling very low quality items.”

“I had such a terrible experience with Halfords customer service. They were very unprofessional and totally useless. They couldn't help me to order online, I tried both chat and phone, and then they sent me to the physical store where they were equally useless. This ruined my day! On the other hand, I am very happy I didn't make an expensive purchase with them and didn't get me into an even worse situation.”

“I would Mark this in minus but there isn't an option to do this I booked tyres to be fitted at my home knowone turned up and no telephone call when I called to find out what happened I was told there was no booking on the system even though money has been taken from my bank account on my motor club membership it now says order completed I have emails confirming the booking but no order number on these emails I do have cctv out the front of my house which will confirm knowone came to fit the tyres to my car. I totally disputed with the service from Halfords and I would like to escalate this complaint.”

“Halfords know I am autistic and have mental health struggles on top due to trauma, hence the reason a bicycle was so critical to my well being. However for more than one year they have left my complaints unresolved and it is still dragging on to this day. I purchased a bicycle from them and the moment I got it there was a weird clicking noise. I then kept having problems but their mechanical staff further messed it up with botched repairs. The manager of my now closed local store Dagenham Merrilands was terrible and declined to put it right, in which I asked for a refund. I was then fobbed off repeatedly by their complaints team that a regional manager would be in touch. This went on all last year into this year. I had to scrap that bike in the end as it was unusable, I had to plod along for months upon months with that faulty bike . I have been robbed of money and use of bike and have no bike now. To do this to a healthy customer is bad enough but to do it to an autistic person with health problems who cannot drive and relied on a bike for mental relief is truly cruel. What the hell is wrong with this company? I offered proof of everything including my disability, health problems and trauma events.”

“Why do Halfords sell E bikes but dont hold stock like battery chargers seems stupid then you go to order and you have to take in all documents we went in this morning took battery and charger as we didnt know if it was battery but turns out its the charger we need ok you think we will buy one not that simple you need receipt which we had and go through like an iterigation to be told they will only see the order Monday then they cant say how long it would take to get here. No wonder people are buying on line and getting the wrong one which causes fires. Just had another email after sending in picture of reciept they wanted more pictures i want a charger not the crown jewels never buy a bike from Halfords cant get basic repairs without giving your whole life had send a picture of the bike.. what are they doing trying to ruin their own company”

“Purchased an ebike online from Halfords. Despite promises it arrived without tools so had to buy some from... halfords in Chelmsford. The key for the battery cannot work, cannot slide the battery out and the handlebar has been put in too tight. Important to tell: halfords has no customer services, the people who answer the phone and on the online chat are in South africa and have absolute technical knowledge of bike or cars. To return your bike or to get help you will need to bring your bike you just bought from them to their nearest store. This means that I now need to spend my pension to hire a transport to get my bike back to them It probably be a return as I now have enough. Please halfords do close down.”

“Absolute rip-off bike servicing. Paid £60 for a silver service and they wanted an additional £20 to 'fit' two brake blocks. A job that would have taken the 'technician less than a minute!”

“I ordered 4 tyres for over £500. I booked them into be fitted 2 weeks in advance. I got 2 reminders, one by email and 1 by text reminding me to be there this morning. I got there this morning. The tyres had not been sent to the Halfords fitting station. I was told I would have to wait days for a refund. My lesson DO NOT TRUST HALFORDS THEY ARE USELESS In fairness after 3 phone calls to Halfords - their system cut me off twice - I got a really helpful bloke who raised a complaint for me and who apologised profusely.. but I still have no tyres and I still have not got my money back. Halfords have this fancy website with tyre prices etc. but in reality, it seems that they are just hopeless. They either don’t have the tyres or they don’t bother sending them to their their fitting centres. I would strongly recommend that people find other companies to use to get things done, or to buy and fit tyres.”

“Hi everyone, just to give you heads up. NEVER ORDER FROM HALFORD’S ONLINE!! Because they have the worst customer service I have ever come across. I ordered a scooter £38 online I never received it because the delivery driver delivered to the wrong address which you can see on the map. I called them up numerous of time and told them what happened they put me through the enquiry team who told me to wait 48h for an answer but NO ANSWER. I had to call and email them again and told me the same thing to wait 48h and this happened many time during 3 weeks but still NO ANSWER and today I called them 5 times and I got cut off 5 times I managed to get 3 of the customer service ladies names who are Pumza, Sandra, and Surprise who told me to wait and eventually cut me off. This is unacceptable from a well recognised company to have such a poor customer service. I haven’t received my scooter and I’ve been ROBBED from HALFORD. NEVER ORDER FROM HALFORD ONLINE OTHERWISE YOU’RE GOING TO BE SPEAKING TO SOMEONE FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD WHO DOESNT HAVE A CLUE WHAT YOU’RE TALKING ABOUT AND YOU’LL END UP LOSING YOUR MONEY. “Still no refund and no contact from customer service after nearly 4 weeks! I bought an electric coolbox and mains adaptor online on 1st June. It wasn't going to be in stock till 8th June which was after we left home to go on holiday, so I asked to collect it from Carlisle store on 8th June. However, when I got there I realised it would not be suitable for our car, so the Carlisle store cancelled the order, and said I would receive an email from Halfords confirming that the order had been cancelled, and I would receive the refund to PayPal as that was how I had originally paid. But no email or refund has arrived. On 25th June we were passing through Carlisle again on or way home, so we called in and I spoke with them again. They were very concerned to hear I had not received the refund or an email. They checked the store records which said the refund had been made. As there was nothing else they could do, they said I should phone customer service and gave me the number. I phoned, but the person who took the call was unable to put me through to the refund department because they wouldn't answer the phone. So I tried the chat line instead. But the chat person said they'd ask the Carlisle store to phone me, and there was nothing else they could do. They gave me an "action" number: 20370409. Then they disappeared. I emailed the customer service department, but have not received even an automatic acknowledgement. I sent a message via Messenger, which has been seen, but not acknowledged or replied to I'm really concerned about this, Halfords customer service have my money, and I want it back! I'm wondering if you have sent it to someone else by mistake? I have been a loyal Halfords customer for many years, their products and shops are excellent, but their customer service department is abysmal.”

“Booked my Electric Bike in to get a new inner tube fitted and when I took it in they wouldn’t touch it because I didn’t buy it from Halfords. Why take my money and booking if they don’t fix it. It’s a waste of my time and money not a good service.”

“Do NOT order tyres from Halfords. Not Shoreham's fault perhaps - but I ordered tyres online, choose a time to have them fitted and paid the money. No tyres available at Shoreham'when I arrived. An apology from the manager who didn't seem to be expecting me and a very miserable grudging response from Head Office. Nothing to compensate for time, cost and inconvenience - even a modest £5 would have suggested the apology was meant. And it took 5 days for my money to come back to my account.”

“Booked my E-Bike in to get a inner tube replaced and they would not touch it. They let me book it in and even charge me £10. This is a disgrace letter me book and when I took it down refused to repair it.”

“I had a bike serviced and repaired under the gold service Halfords Worcester offer. After the first ride I took it back and said it was not smooth gear changing and fair enough the bike specialist took a link out of the chain. Next ride the Drive chain cogs fell apart. I took the bike back to the Worcester branch and they said it was not their problem and had to contact customer service. I contacted customer service after been put on hold for 15 minutes and they took details and said they would pass them on. I heard nothing back after a week and had to phone the Worcester Branch. The Manager said he could do nothing as customer service had said no to putting my bike right. So no one bothered to even contact me, secondly I'm left with a bike I cant use after a Worcester Halfords service, and no one at Halfords bothered to deal with a customer dispute. So far the customer service has been shocking. The Worcester branch saying they cant deal with it and customer services not dealing with it either. Have now phoned back and complained and want mediation”

“A socket broke the other day ? No worries a life time warranty will cover it ? Nope , 3 pics of broken socket and Halfords logo on it sent to them . They want a receipt ?crumbs ? I bought the socket set over 25 years ago ? Pretty poor service all round. Avoid at all costs .”

“Put car battery in backwards. I warned the technician who was in the job 4 days to be careful and that he was wrong. He ignored me, connected the battery and blew the fuse board of the car. Car a write-off and they refused to compensate me correctly.”
