“We had a lovely stay at Glendene, the house was clean and spacious, with a fully equipped kitchen. Located on a very quiet street with more than ample parking. The photos of the garden don’t do it justice - it was beautiful! The owner couldn’t be more helpful and communication was brilliant!”

“The position was fantastic. The cottage was very clean with great amenities. The sofa is a little uncomfortable. TV is not very good. But we did love the place and would book again.”

“Nice enough windmill, but it could do with a great deal of TLC - and a deep clean. But we saw it is up for sale, so that's probably not going to happen in the near future.”

“Both the parking at the cottage and the access to the town were inappropriate for our age- over 75. We are no strangers to the Lakes or walking but found the cottage and its position hard work.”

“I have been going on and off to this apartment for over 20 years,this is one of my favourite apartment in st ives the views are fabulous. But this year all the mattresses needed to be replace you could feel the springs digging into you.we all 5 of us went home with bad backs. Also the 2 sofas we're the same and we're really uncomfortable. Also one of the sofas we're ripped at the back and front . All the beds and sofas definitely need to be replaced to get back to 5 stars.”

“Our cottage, Barn Owl Cottage at Brandsby, was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Booking the cottage was very easy. The description was very accurate. Instructions for contacting the owners were clear . We have used Holiday Cottages before and certainly will again.”

“We had a problem with the shower door. I phoned the number provided and they sent someone to fix it directly. They kept us well informed throughout too.”

“What didn't! After first night of no sleep I saw the state of the mattress . Appalling. It was replaced but we had to wait until the people in Florence Cottage next door had left and a mattress was brought through from thee and my husband had to assist the person who the management company had sent.Hot tub didn't work. When opened curtains fell off . Hob stopped working after two days. Furniture marked and scratched. This is what was advertised as ' luxury'!! Complained numerous times and still had no refund. Will never use your company again. All the issues we encountered had already been highlighted by the previous weeks occupants and nothing done to rectify before our arrival.”

“The cottage we stayed in was clean, tidy and well decorated with all of the utilities you would ever need. The booking process with Holiday Cottages was simple and quick, they also supply useful information in the lead up to the holiday. We have used them for many years now and have no hesitation in recommending them to others”

“The cottage was lovely except it was ridiculously hot with the aga on & as there was no other cooking facilities except the microwave it had to be on. I can't imagine what it was like to stay there during the hot summer we've recently had?? We had to open the back door & windows. Sadly the hot tub was also too hot for me. My husband, who normally likes much hotter water than myself also said it was hotter than he would have set it.”

“I have already provided feedback on the cottage we stayed in. The booking process was easy BUT.. £25 waiver, £53 booking fee and £50 for dogs. Now even at minimum wage thats more hours cleaning charge than turnaround. This charge is std on all listings accepting pets, so i doubt if the owners see anything of this, its a poor show. £128 extras on a weeks booking. Never again.”

“We have always used holiday cottages for our breaks and have never been disappointed with the properties. We prefer to stay in accommodation that is not pet friendly and all of the cottages we have stayed in have been in excellent condition, scrupulously clean , beautifully decorated and furnished with everything we could wish for. The booking experience is quick , efficient and well managed with regular information given on the lead up to the holiday.”
