One of the towels had a label and tag attached stating it was cheaper than actually charged for.

Visited the Guildford Store today and totally agree with the other reviews here regarding the store and service. Bought two items from MaxMara for a not insignificant sum and although the assistant who served me was very good the other staff member kept interrupting her with questions regarding their customer and another was chatting away on the telephone clearly regarding work but still very intrusive. The clothes were then put into a tatty House of Fraser plastic bag. I expect when paying that kind of money to be provided with a Max Mara bag. I know some people may think that irrelevant but when you are spending that amount of money you want it to be a good experience from trying on the clothes to the cash desk. We then went to the Shoe Department where the attitude and level of service were poor (apart from the Dune concession assistant who appeared to be the only one working and concerned about customer service) - we walked out in the end. Most of the sales floors did not look too bad but the top floor with all its sports wear entirely inconsistent with what we have come to expect from House of Fraser. Clearly Mike Astleys attitude to business is filtering down to the shop floor. We have always enjoyed shopping at this store for the last fifteen years and it is sad to see it declining like this. The Harrods of the High Street? Not in a million years - and like other reviews here will not be surprised if its not gone within the next couple of years.

I used to enjoy shopping in House of Fraser but the service is now third rate. I ordered a pair of bridal shoes online for £79 but they certainly weren't worth that much! The quality of the material was poor and the holes for the buckle looked like they'd been punched with a pin as part of a DIY job. They weren't packaged nicely at all and looked like someone with rather dirty feet had been trying them on. Of course, HoF don't make it easy to return goods. Customers have to print off the returns label (not easy if you don't have a printer) and then pay for postage. If you choose to return the goods in store then you are given store credit. If you chose to 'click and collect' you are still expected to pay £4.99 (the same amount as delivery to your door). The interior of the store nearest me (in a busy and affluent market town) looks positively apocalyptic as there were less than a dozen customers (or so it appeared) shopping in there on a Saturday during the January sales. One of the floors had hardly any stock on it! Advice to HoF: Drastically improve your shoddy service to win back customers or risk going into administration again!

I ordered jackect for both me and my son because of the cold weather, I did not get an update when my deliver is going to be, only to get home and find a paper oustide the road dropped by Yodel that my items are with neighbours number 30 which does not exist. All attempt to contact Yodel or House of Fraiser is to no avail. I will never shop from this comapany anymore. I demand a refund or my order. Miss Taiwo Oladunni 07725830786. Have tried all their stores in London and was told they cold not help me. Very angry at this service. I will be writting more reviews until someone contacts me.

As an already struggling company surprised they have introduced a £30 minimum spend for free delivery click and collect. After paying petrol, parking and now being charged to collect my own parcel I now just order direct from companies direct. Only costs same to have it delivered to my own front door. Such a shame because I have enjoyed shopping with House of Fraser.

Every other online order is wrong. I ordered UGG Tye trainer in pink size 5 and get an ugg shoe different style in a size 7. Its happened loads of times no wonder they arent doing well. Once or twice they havent been to happy about refunding either as I haven't got the receipt (they no longer send them). Another time they sent me a different pair of boots to the ones I ordered and they were my size and in the correct bos. They looked like someone had worn them! Then they were really funny about refunding me that time it took a couple of strong emails and two visits.

I have just put a previous review through that i was extremely happy with the service i received today in Meadowhall. However i feel it is important to mention after leaving the womens dept after spending over £200, we arrived in the mens shirt area. We were struggling to understand what the sizing in mens shirts are. As my husband was browsing the shirts i asked the only male assistant i could see putting stuff on a rail. He was quite young and thin in build. I asked him to explain what the names meant ie. moderate etc., he mumbled the details out and to be honest i didnt really understand the sizing after he spoke to me. My husband and I continued to look at shirts bewindered by what would actually fit him (he is a fairly broad size) A second couple came up to the assistant and asked the very same question i had, to which he sprung into action and explained to him more slowly the sizing. He then took him into a fitting room whereby he started to try shirts on with him. I couldnt believe the difference in service. If my husband had been supported in this manner perhaps maybe we would have found what we were looking for and purchased a shirt or 2 that fitted him. In disgust we left the department. Not long after we saw the same couple in Marks as were us and we all managed to understand the clear signs explaining sizes. We noted that not only did we find 2 shirts so did the other couple. What a shame we had to go elsewhere, so on this day the service on the mens dept let us down.

HOF is by far my favourite place to shop, I spend, for me, a lot of money in there over a year. I’ve never had cause to ever complain or be upset, their deliveries are always prompt not damaged and if collected in store served by friendly staff. There shopfloor staff have always been very good and helpful. This all changed today 4th March 2018. I had reason to return 2 dresses. I had purchased one in store from the Oasis department, when I’d got it home I found a small hole in it so I planned to return it, the same dress then a few days later on line was reduced by £5 so I thought I’d take advantage as I was returning the damaged one anyway. When I collected the online order I tried it on first before I returned anything, only to find, although the same dress it didn’t fit quite the same the top was a little too tight. Today I went into my local store Solihull. To explain and see if there was still one in store. The contempt I was dealt with by 2 very young, obviously inexperienced girls was quite frankly awful. You can change it I was told but we’ll refund the online on exchange the one you bought in store. No I said it’s not my fault and as I bought the online slightly reduced I want to keep my discount, you can’t do that I was told you must keep the full price one. Again I challenged as I said if I had returned the faulty one first, and then bought online and needed to exchange there wouldn’t have been a problem. I was just being honest and telling the whole story. The huffing and look on their faces was quite frankly disgusting and not the service I’ve come to expect from HOF. I sincerely hope this was a one off and these members of staff get to go on some form of customer service training as I certainly would never employ them to work with customers. They in the end did do the transaction as I had requested, so it obviously was ok they were just being difficult, which is not what I want from my shopping experience.

Bought Xmas presents and they only allowed 14 days to get a refund. The 14th day was the 26/12/ not a day you want to return goods

House of Fraser have changed to paperless receipts, its taken 5 attempts at web chats and a twitter messages for them to send me a paper copy of my returns information. (and I have to wait 7 days for that) They told me my email must be blocked, even though they tried 2 email addresses and I received all of there other emails - order confirmation and customer service emails came through ok. I think the new paperless system is a joke, I won't be ordering from them again if I have to go through this rigmarole every time! Surely they would be better off spending some of the money they are now saving on paper on their website implementing a system where I can download and print off my own returns label if needed for my account area once logged in.

The store in Cheltenham is very confusing, but the worst part was costumer service. The lady was served before me. As soon as she payed the customer service lady took off and stood next to the clothes rail. I was left standing. The customer service ladies walked by, but none of them payed attention until I asked. This is the worst shop I have ever been and not going to go back.

I ordered a gift for my sister in law for a special birthday. The order confirmation showed that I had ordered a gift card but this was not included. My sister in law therefore did not know who had sent the gift. The tracking service was standard, i.e. no signature needed. All that it said was that the gift had been delivered ' to the address or a neighbour'. The address was a business address so that was confusing. I was put in the embarrassing position of having to ask my sister in law if she had received the gift. Customer services on line chat were not particularly helpful. They initially told me I had not ordered a gift card until I pointed out that the order confirmation showed that I had and what it said. All they could say was they this happened very rarely and they would report to the appropriate department. I will not use again.

Firstly must point out the sofa is lovely, no fault there. However I had to chase HOF to send me a digital order confirmation and reference number, as it got to over a week and all I had was the original paper receipt from the store. Also I had it took almost 10 weeks for the sofa to arrive, over the original ETA, not sure why it took so long, other companies can make and deliver in less time! found delivery day choice difficult, felt pressured to accept a day that wasn't totally convenient, like 'it had to get out of the warehouse'.

I bought a nice pair of shoes for work from ALDO hoping they would last for a while knowing the brand however just after 4 days of wearing them left shoe has split on both sides. I felt very dissapointed.

Why is their return policy so tight? 14 days... In the run up to Christmas means that you either end up with a credit note, or have to battle in immediately after Christmas in peak sale time to take stuff back if it isn't suitable. Of course they know you probably won't be able to face it so they get to force you to spend with them by having to buy other goods. Tempted to take it all back just before Christmas and buy it again to extend the return period. What a waste of everyone's time.
