Went into Reading branch with my Daughter to purchase a handbag for her birthday. Had £200 to spend. Sales assistant looked at us as though we were the dirt on the bottom of her shoe and although we were showing an interest in a particular item she showed no interest in serving us. We left and went into John Lewis where the assistant was more than happy to help and we made our purchase

Purchased two sofas from HOF costing what to me is a lot of money. After a very heavy sales pitch also paid £200 for an all singing all dancing insurance policy. Beware as the sales staff must be on some sort of commission as this policy is of little use to me. Complained about this being missold but HOF not interested at all. I did get a phone call from a nice lady but absolutely nothing came of it. I didn't complain at the time about the huge delivery problems etc but now wish I had. Shocking customer service and will never shop here again. No wonder the Metro Centre store is always empty. HOF look to John Lewis to see how a retailer should conduct themselves

Customer services did not bothered to sort out the problem that the shop assistant caused for me by filling the wrong information on my application form for credit card

Went to the Benefit counter in the Grimsby branch to get some concealer.2 assistants were both doing makeovers.neither of them looked at me or greeted me as I stood there for over 5min.coming from a customer service background myself I found it to be a rude experience and actually ordered my product online instead direct with benefit.i shall not be returning back to your store to purchase again.this was on Saturday 13th Aug at 1pm.

Returned a mans jumper after finding a hole under the armpit only 4 days later. To get a refund was such a hassle. The assistant said that the code number on the receipt did not tally with the code number on the jumper. I was left waiting while she went looking for a manager. When she eventually arrived it transpired that the assistant had misread the label. I was made to feel that I was trying to defraud the House of Fraser! Did I receive an apology for the faulty goods - no. Very disappointing customer service. My first visit to the Reading store but I will not be returning D

Dreadful customer service. How is it possible that they refuse to refund my items for a gift card in one store and the staff are completely clueless or confused, unhelpfulwhile its possible in another store

Spotted a potential error in the description of one of their products. Emailed them asking to clarify. I made my purchase based on the information they provided me. When the item arrived it became clear the information their customer service team provided was incorrect and thus the item itself was of no use to me. Return labels inside were the pack but no clear instructions as to how to proceed with a return. I for one, have never heard of "Collect+" until now. I stuck both labels (collect+ and royal mail) on the repacked item and head out to the nearest post office to send it back. Clerk takes one quick look at it and tells me it's a collect+ package and they can't accept it there. I head back, confused as hell about what/who this collect+ crap is -- turns out I need to go somewhere else to return this. So here I am, running around town trying to return this item that was sold to me in a fashion akin to bait & switch -- though out of incompetence, the net result is the same. I asked them to arrange for a pickup, so that at the very least I don't waste more time getting the item with this return, and they tell me they won't for such a "low priced item". All this hassle because they were too lazy to take out a measuring stick and measure the incorrectly advertised item's dimensions. It's not like they had to open a box or break a seal to do so. Never shopping with them again. Period.

Ordered a Silver grey dress for a wedding to give the bride away. No problem ordering, payment taken without any problems, received e mail confirmation, all points correct. However 4 days later dress arrived dark navy !! Called customer services, who agreed that I had ordered a Silver Grey Dress, and that the delivery note stated a Silver grey dress was being delivered. Someone had put the wrong colour in for me . Yes they most certainly had. I was then told it would be 2 days before customer service dept would receive a reply from the warehouse whether they actually had the Silver Grey Dress, I had ordered or not but meanwhile I could return the Navy dress. First thing in the morning the dress was taken to our localist office and returned. Just to wait for the proper dress to be delivered. NO CHANCE. Having called 2 days later, as no one had made contact with me I was told NO problem I will take your payment now and I will have the dress sent out to you !!! We do not replaced items sent out by mistake you will have to reorder by paying the full amount for a second time and we will refund your original payment once it has gone through House of Fraser System !!! I would rate House of Fraser -10 stars , if it were possible, but I was only allowed to enter by clicking on stars available. NEVER AGAIN. Perhaps the company had standards at one point in time, they are definitely a totally sub standard company now

I bought a Karen Millen cardigan online and it said there was roughly a £20 discount, however when I pressed the button to purchase it the screen changed and said I had purchased it at full price. I was shocked at this and immediately through webchat said I wasn't prepared to pay £99. The webchat email never arrived in my inbox leaving me quite worried. They don't apologise when things go wrong I found and the emails were very curt when handling their website technical difficulties.

Their sizes are not connected to this world. I have ordered two pairs of trousers both size 8 (my normal size e.g. in M&S, Next, Debenhams, ...). One pair was ridiculously huge (all family had a big laugh!). I thought that it was mistaken for '18' but no - the label said 8! the other pair was too small! also the shoes that I ordered size 6 (normally I am 5.5) way significantly too small! what kind of standards do they follow? well obviously none! Very disappointing!

Absolutely ridiculous returns process. I had a voucher and bought goods over the cost of the voucher so paid for the remainder via credit card, returned part of the order and this was refunded by voucher not card. When I phoned to say I would like it back by card, I had to return the whole order, then re order just the item I wanted to keep, this was a pain for me, but cost HoF the return shipping and the new shipping as it was over the free delivery rate. I will absolutely not shop with House of Fraser again, anything they sell can and will be bought from elsewhere.

Absolutely shocking! They sent out a beauty product and it was soiled upon opening, despite calling emailing and visits instore HoF did not seemed bothered at all. No apologies, no acknowledgement, better off going to Selfridges or other well known brands for proper decent attention - NOT impressed!

I ordered 2 sofas, when they arrived 1 was faulty, 2 zips wouldn't do up, i chased HoF and a month later an scs man arrived and told me he couldn't fix it. it would have to be taken apart in my lounge! I have been in constant contact with Hof, from the ceo ( noddy@hof.co.uk), but only got an email from a minion A week later they keep saying tried to contact you, despite both phones with me at all times Contacted the furniture ombudsman, to complain & arrange a refund Awful uncaring don't give a damn attitude Won't be buying from H o F again

We attended store at Birmingham to purchase some birthday clothes for our 2 year old. We were particularly after a Hugo boss outfit. staff were rude to begin with telling us, literally, to go away and not disturb their chat. On further pursuing that outfit the rather ill informed staff supposedly checked online and couldn't find the product. It was blatant she was not even looking as the product was obviously there when we checked after getting home. If they can not teach staff any manner or inform them of the products they are selling then they should look for an alternative profession as they are not doing too well at selling clothes. As for the store, the once posh feel to it had has now disappeared and looks quite derelict with 'struggling to perform' look. Unfortunately at this point I have nothing positive to add regarding our experience.

Ordered on-line from Australia. Returned the goods to an address in NSW as directed. The goods went missing from Australia to UK - however I had proof of delivery to the destination I was told to send - more than 3 months later I received my refund only due to the intervention of Paypal. And due to the length of time this took - the exchange rate had changed and the refund I received was about $20 less than what I paid....I was never contacted twice by the same person and must have written at least 10 emails - several phone calls and all dealt with by someone new. My questions and comments were never addressed - only got the standard company reply of "We pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service at all times........................" believe that at your peril. I will never ever shop with HOF again and wish I had read reviews prior to ordering.

product arrived absolutely filthy and shop worn. Customer services then tried to inanely and dishonestly blame the courier, when that didn't wash because it was completely nonsensical customer services just messed me around and made a joke of it all and resolved nothing after much time wasting. My advice is Avoid house of fraser online and their awful customer services.

Returns from Australia go to an address in N.S.W. If it goes missing from Australia to the UK - you have no chance of getting your refund. I have now been waiting for over 2 months - numerous emails from various people have failed to help. No-one replies in the given time and I am now at a loss as to what to do next............ absolutely disgusting service.
