This review is based on Ikea Online, whatever you do, DO NOT ORDER FROM IKEA ONLINE!. This was my first and last experience with Ikea, seeing I have a local store only 30 miles away, I should have just driven the distance in bad traffic to get the item, but i took the $9 delivery fee thinking it was easier, wrong again! I ordered a Bekant Computer Desk, Ikea charged my Debit Card for the full amount before it even shipped, then I got a e-mail notification of the order and a estimated delivery time of 3 to 5 days, well that came and went, Ikea sent me a shipping confirmation and a FedEx tracking number that showed the item was being shipped from a local Distrubution Center around 2 hours away, so I thought okay, should be here tomorrow based on previous orders, wrong again, the Tracking sat for 3 days stating "Label Created/Pending". This is where it got interesting, it said on the tracking "1 Box", but I knew this was a mistake since the item page clearly state's it comes in 2 boxes with different article numbers to form the top level Bekant Desk, so I attempted to contact Ikea Customer Service, e-mailed them, no response, still no response a week later. I also tried calling them, but the 1 hour wait time with nobody picking up ended with me hanging up the phone and just waiting for the item to arrive with little hope it was right. Well it shows up 3 days later, FedEx drops off one box, I knew my order was messed up because the box was less than 2 inches thick and low and behold Ikea messed up the order and only shipped me the wood desktop and no underframe! So needless to say I was pissed, I tried calling them again but after 1 hour I got nobody to pick up, sent another e-mail using their "Missing Parts" online form, took me 3 times before it went through mind you. So here I am with an incomplete order, useless wood/particle board desktop and no stand/underframe and my Debit Card is charged for the full amount. I contacted my bank to dispute the charge, stating I cannot get in contact with Ikea at all, no responses and nobody answers, they are current investigating it and it say's in the dispute form that they cannot credit back $ for things received, so looking at the piece I received that's $80 of useless desktop and perhaps I get the cost of the underframe or all back? Who knows, in the time I spent and wasted, I would have just drove to the nearest store and would have got the order right. Maybe I'll go to the local home store and buy some 2 x 4's and make a frame for my $80 useless piece of a desk from Ikea's terrible customer service?

My order was scheduled to be delivered on 3/30/18. On 3/29/2018 I received a phone call that stated that my delivery would be made on 3/30/18 between 11 and three pm AND that I would receive a 30-minute phone call ahead of the delivery time. I have a voicemail that states both. I received no 30-minute phone call instead, I received a phone call from the delivery company that said they were at my address. I told them I was 10 minutes away and never received my 30-minute call ahead notice. They were rudely stated, "who told you that?" and I stated that was the phone call I received last night at 9 PM. I arrived at the address ten minutes later with no delivery. I proceeded to speak on the phone and we placed on hold with two different ladies from IKEA for over an hour. This is unacceptable customer service from IKEA and the delivery company who refuses to deliver my order as agreed. As a business owner, I could never run a business like this making promises to customers and not following through.

The actual in store purchasing process is fine, I had no issue there. However, if you need something delivered, or god forbid something is missing/needs replaced because of damage - then you're in BIG trouble. These people never answer the phones, and their website conveniently does not work. I have done the 45min - 1.5hr wait times on the phones 5 times - and that was just to get my item delivered properly. Now when I call to get items sent that were missing/damaged I get "All circuits are busy" every single time I call - I have been trying to call them for 2 weeks now. So I tried to email via the website - they have a nice section to fill out your information and submit your needs but THERE IS NO SUBMIT BUTTON anywhere on the website. The only way I could submit was through the non-United States side of the website (no chance this customer service team can figure out that my order is from the US. Not even sure what to do at this point, and will never have anything delivered from them again.

Love Ikea products. However the customer service experience is the WORST I have ever dealt with. Had to have a delivery of items; missing pieces; called to have replaced missing items-- after getting the "all circuits are busy" with the only number available for an hour, then on hold for AN HOUR rep assisted. Called today to see when replacement of missing parts would be delivered as scheduled for today and no one called to let us know. Waited an HOUR to get a representative who then told me the delivery company had no record of the order but online it still said it was coming today. She said she couldn't help me and would send me to someone else to assist and then on hold for another HOUR! I work for a living and after three hours had to hang up. NO one has time for this ridiculous run-around. Seriously Ikea, I have never had such an awful experience.

Ordered a bedroom of furniture they promised delivery 3/26/18 between 8 am and 5 pm they LIED did not deliver today either 3/27. After reading all of the same type of complaints no delivery no response put on hold hung up on. As a financial professional I can tell you this company is running low on cash and the next step is BANKRUPTCY DO NOT BUY FROM THEM THE WORD IS OUT IF YOU PAID WITH A CREDIT CARD CALL YOUR CC COMPANY NOW AND STOP PAYMENT SAME WITH CHECKS. THIS COMPANY USED TO BE REPUTABLE DOES NOT SEEM TO BE THE SAME ANYMORE!

I give the store for being there and having stuff inside a rating of One Star. Don't count on anyone inside to assist you in buying what you want. Their "mechanical sale" process is annoying. No one helps you find anything. Groups of yellow shirt people walk thru the store laughing and socializing while ignoring customers needing help. I can't see the appeal of press wood, laminates and poorly made furniture. I can find the same tableware at the Dollar Store. Don't waste the hours you will spend just walking into the place. No way out of the stupid maze. They're hoping you'll spend some money while lost. Especially after the second hour, you'll have to be herded thru their cafeteria. I won't be back.

Love IKEA! Drive 2 hours to shop there. What went wrong? I purchased furniture that required delivery. The delivery was not complete and as a result I have spent, literally, hours on hold trying to get the rest of my furniture delivered! For the same amount of time I could have driven down and purchased a another piece myself! While on hold, of course, you are constantly thanked for your patience and told how important customer service is to IKEA...seriously???

Ikea had an international recall of dressers after several people died due to the faulty design. My piece was recalled as well, but I never received the refund that was to be paid. Ikea supposedly has sent me a check (without a tracking number!) 6 times in the past 6 months, which I have never received. Countless phone calls and countless emails later, I still don't have my refund. I found a forum where thousands of other customers affected by the recall have also not received a refund.

Our in-store experiences have been great, but considering the closest location is 2 hours away, we tried to order something online. Big mistake. After waiting for a week, we only received a small part of an order. There were no markings on the box to show this was "box #1 of #" or anything similar. We called customer service to attempt to find the rest of our order. That was mistake #2. It got to the point where my wife and I were both on the phone, waiting for over an hour, in the hopes that at least one of us would get an answer. Instead of finding help to find the rest of our order, we're looking for help to process a return and refund. I wouldn't expect this level of poor customer service from a local one-person business, let alone a billion-dollar multinational business. Never again. If you can't physically go to an IKEA store to find what you're looking for, don't even bother.

I will never order anything from IKEA online and have it delivered to my home. Once my order was shipped, I had been contacted (by the third party shipper) that my items would be delivered the next day between 2-6 pm. Then an hour later, another person called and said no, no one called with shipping times because she just finished the route and the times are 12-4. What? I am pretty sure the voicemail message said 2-6 from said shipping company. I was then told I would get a call 1 hour prior to delivery. So fast forward one day...I get a call at 10:38 am from the truck driver asking if anyone was at home? Why I asked? Because they (the truck with my items) was at my home. What?? What happened to calling an hour prior to delivery which was supposed to be between 12-4?? Luckily, my father had went to my home early and was there to let them in. Blah. I will NEVER EVER order anything online from IKEA, what a nightmare.

I paid for two kitchen drawer fronts in-store to take home as "samples". The one was available in-store, the other had to be ordered and I was told that I would receive it in a week. First, I was double charged for the Voxtorp drawer front. Next, the Kallarp part that was supposed to be delivered has not yet been delivered (it's been a month and a half). I've called Ikea Customer Service 3 times and spent more than an hour and a half on hold, and have yet to speak to someone who can help me.

Ordered bed. 3 of 5 boxes arrived. 1.5 hrs waiting for phone, told deliver in 4-7 days. A month later, deliver schedule but didn't arrive and no call to tell me. Called delivery, told warehouse issue, would call back. Never called back, called them, told weight limit in my neighborhood...no such thing for boxes that weigh maybe 50 pounds, no problem with big vans coming to my building, referred back to IKEA, put on hold while "researched", after an hour phone cut off. Now waiting for 45 min for delivery co to " research". I paid for this stuff in Dec, it is now mid March and cannot get any answers. Still don't have a bed!

Quality of merchandise & price are fine but Ikea contracts with a third-party delivery service. Delivery dates provided by Ikea are nothing but a guess. In my particular delivery, the merchandise sat in a warehouse for a week before the contractor delivered. When I complained to Customer Service, they were slow to reply & gave me a canned pitch with zippo customer service. Buyers Beware! I will never do business with Ikea again.

I have very awful experience with IKEA home delivery and IKEA customer service. I am utterly disappointed and would not recommend IKEA online shopping and home delivery to anyone. I ordered a IKEA dining table set and a coffee table online and requested home delivery. Their delivery partner XPO logistics failed to deliver the item in 3 consecutive attempts. Every time they schedule / re schedule the delivery and confirm the delivery date and timing by calling your phone before the delivery, but they just don’t appear on the delivery date. Even after the failed delivery neither IKEA nor XPO will call you to reschedule the delivery. IKEA will instruct you to call delivery partner and when you call XPO they will say call IKEA to reschedule the delivery. There is no communication between IKEA and XPO. And when you try to reach IKEA over phone, you may have to wait from 30 min to 1 hour to reach a customer service representative. Sometimes I had to wait even more than an hour, I don’t know who has that much of time and patience just to get some furniture delivered. Finally after 1.5 month and 3 failed delivery attempt I gave up and requested a refund. And to my absolute surprise and anger, they said they will process the refund once they get the merchandize back to their warehouse. Probably XPO lost the shipment which is why they could not deliver, and in that case they will never be able to return the order to IKEA, then why should I be penalised for their fault. I told them as soon as XPO confirms that they did not deliver the item, which they confirmed already, I should get my money back. It’s been more than a month now after the refund request placed and still have not got my $600 back. I was eagerly waiting to share a positive feedback on the IKEA product quality, so much I had heard of, but how would you do that when you do not even receive the product and end up with an experience of absolute harassment along with sheer wastage of money, time and effort.

We buy thousands of pounds of stuff from Ikea every month. Do not let Ikea send you stuff by Parcel Force. Use the Ikea pick and delivery next day service. Costs £10to pick the stuff and like £35 to have it delivered next day. This works, but you have to go to the Ikea store to order. If you order online or use the standard delivery service then Ikea will send it via Parcel Force. Do Not Use Parcel Force. You have only a 30% chance of getting your stuff. Parcel Force use the lowest cost delivery contractors and therefore your package may take weeks.

I purchased items online and had them delivered to a project. When they were delivered, I was missing two items which the delivery company said I would have to go through my list and figure out which two items they were. Really?? Once I figured out my missing items, they told me I would have to call Ikea, they could not help me. I called Ikea's 1-888 number and waited for over 30 minutes for someone to answer. I finally got frustrated and hung up. I called back another time and waited 25 minutes..still no one picked up. I went into the store the next day for help and everyone I spoke to said I had to deal with the online number, they could not help me. I was incredibly upset by this point. I paid for these items and yet IKEA was not contacting me to let me know when I would get the items that were missing, their store was not helping me get my missing items and their 1-888 number was not being answered. After three frustrating days, I finally got someone on the phone (after waiting over 30 minutes again!). I asked for the items to be refunded. I went to the store that same day to purchase the missing items so that I could finish the project. Five days after I called for my refund, I still have not received a credited refund from IKEA. Their customer service is one of the worst I have ever dealt with. It is 2018, why in the world would anyone need to wait on the phone for 30 minutes to talk to a customer service representative. IKEA is a multi-million dollar company, their customer service number should be one of the best. IKEA...you have lost my business, my family's business and all my customers. Customer service should be your #1 priority!!

Having saved and planned for our new kitchen for months, paid in full weeks in advance, we await the delivery of our new Ikea kitchen. Timed four hour delivery slot meant that we had to take time out of our busy professional lives to take delivery of the units. Delivery date was confirmed by Ikea by text so all was set and we wait and wait..... after several further telephone calls we are still none the wiser and still no delivery. To be quite honest I am totally f##### off, a simple phone call from Ikea and we could have rearranged the delivery date avoiding our loss of confidence and wasted day out of work. The fitting team can no longer start as the units are not on site and because our old kitchen has now been decomissioned we are without a kitchen sink, totally unacceptable.
