“I moved and updated my address with JCPenney within 3 days. I placed order 3 months later and it was sent to old address. I contacted them to advise them I have already updated my address with online customer service and they said I would need to contact both couriers and inquire about having the packages rerouted. Then, noted they still have my old information on their site. Customer Service was unhelpful, couldn't even make the changes and dismissed my concerns about how many times I have informed them of wrong info and is still showing on their system. I'm out $100 since the couriers are not replying to my emails and won't be shopping there anymore. Their customer service is very poor and they show no accountability for their own mistakes.”
“The items I ordered had to be retuned because they didn't fit. I was shocked to learn that I was charged $7.20, the amount of coupons deducted from my order. The entire order was returned so they have the full value of the items. By charging me the amount of the coupons they now have the full value of the merchandise PLUS $7.20. I am seeking legal advice.”
“Poorest customer service, shelves andcracks basically are a combination of leftover rags and odd sizes, dirty, staffed by smartass teenagers who have no skills. Clarksville, Indiana store is a joke. I will no longer buy anything from Penny's ever again. They want to buy Kohls too, well Kohls is about the same lots of overpriced rags and junk. My money is going b good elsewhere from now on. Bye, Bye Penny's!!!!!!!! Hope you go the way of Sears and Kmart.”
“I bought a 14k gold necklace from there and had to bring it right back not even before I got out of the parking lot. Now three days later after they gave me a new necklace it’s broken again I don’t know if they just have crappy jewelry but it was a 500$ chain . Not happy at all”
“I placed an order on 5/22. I have still not received this order and it is 6/17. I have tried to call the Auburn Maine store multiple times and no one answers the phone. Yesterday I received an email stating my order was canceled because I did not pick it up. The order never arrived at the store!!!!! Today I received a bill !!!!! I will never shop at
JCPenney again. I am canceling my credit card there and will bad mouth them forever more.”
“I am very disappointed with the quality of service that I received from purchasing a mattress set and frames then getting them somewhat delivered. The delivery company, too, provided the worst customer service experience. The frames were delivered with missing parts and JCPenny customer service rep told me that I should have checked the box to ensure that all parts were in the box. I could have done that if it had a paper listing all contents of the box. Secondly, the sales team should have explained that if there was a stain the size of a dime on the side of a 10 year old bed, then the delivery company could not haul away the old set. This should have been explained while purchasing the set or provided in writing. Also, I removed the headboard from the frame per the delivery crew request, but they still refused to break down the frame. Both the old and new sets are leaning against the bedroom wall and customer servicing is telling me about a restocking fee on returns or having to wait 5 business days until the frame manufacturer call about a missing part.”
“NEVER AGAIN...ordered 3 dresses...told me it was shipped. No details on the tracking number given. Informed JCP and was told that I had to wait 12 business days. Called again and was told that they couldn't help me that I needed to reach out to UPS. UPS Informed me that the tracking number had NO DETAILS. Called customer service AGAIN...this time I was told my order would need to be canceled. They would issue me a refund that takes 7-10 days to get. Reorder it and charge me again...this time they would expedite the shipping and would have it in 2 days...LOL
Told them to cancel the order and that I will NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH JCP AGAIN. Just hope I can get my money back...if they don't screw that up too!!! Wish I could have given a negative 5 stars”
“Picked up 3 orders today at JCP.com in Stone-crest Mall in Georgia, the customer service personnel, Princess, was no princess at all. She had no people skills, no greeting, and not even a thank you! She didn’t open the packaged items until asked with just a cut in the shipping packaging and no attempt to remove from the items from shipping package and verify order. The customer behind me , was telling me she is always unresponsive, which definitely is no excuse. If she doesn’t want to work there she should quit. She needed to take lessons from Tatianna and Ms. Nancy, those were exceptional customer service personnel. Princess should probably seek another position that doesn’t involve “custom service “.”
“Wouldn't even give them 1 star, but to write a review it's required. I ordered towels on sale as we had just bought a house and wanted to have new colors for our 3 bathrooms. I ordered 4 new sets of towels. 2 blue, 1 purple and 1 green. I ordered 2 hand towels, and 4 bath sheet towels (we like them super long) for each color. When they arrived, the dark blue bath sheets weren't there, but we had 4 burgundy washclothes and they shorted us a green hand towel. I called customer service, freaking joke cause they're should be called disservice. She charged me for the hand towel to be shipped to me, even though it wasn't my fault the wrong items were sent and one was omitted. Then instead of requesting 4 bath sheets, she requested 4 hand towels. To date, we still haven't gotten them and this was 4 weeks ago. Also, when they green hand towel arrived Thursday, it wasn't a green hand towel, it was a puke green bath towel (we ordered the cilantro green). When I again called customer service, she said she would have to charge me again and then they would send me the correct item back when I sent all the wrong items back. Wait, I have to pay twice when you have people in the warehouse with a 3rd grade education who still can't read and follow directions? Nope, told her screw it, just credit everything back to our card, I will go to another store and get towels and take the puke green towel and 4 wash clothes to Goodwill. She actually was upset that I didn't want to have my credit card charged again. Who does that? No company we have ever dealt with has ever said, hey we made a mistake, please let us charge your card again so we can send you out the correct item. Will never order from these A holes again. This used to be a nice store, but not anymore. It's a shame. They should train their warehouse staff that packs the order how to read a sticker that says blue, that it's not red, and a hand towel and wash cloth will never look like a bath sheet. zero for JCPenney”
“Shopped at Penney’s today for womens clothing and was definitely impressed. Nice selection, great prices, store organized and clean. I definitely need to shop there more, and make them one of my first stops.”
“I got a call not a email to say that my items needed to be picked up at the pickup window. I got there called the number they couldn't help me. I called the number on my order they told me I had to call the pickup number. I told them that that did not work. I then went in to the store they told me that that departments not working and you have to go up to customer service to get it yourself. The process took 45 minutes 2 pick up the which I did not have that kind of time frame. Please train your people on the proper procedures are you going to lose all your business.”
“I will never going to buy anything anymore from JCP because they cancelled my order after 3 weeks, they didn't want to honor the sale price. This bracelet was for our wedding anniversary, can you imagine the problem I am in. The reason for cancellation was that the item is no longer available but they stock them in the stores at 3 times the price. Sorry I am very disapointed. I bought the bracelet for $1,980 and now on sale is at $4,500 from original price of $7,500.
Order Number: 2022122314196549 (5 CT. T.W. Genuine White Diamond 10K White Gold 7.5 Inch Tennis Bracelet).”
“Our visit at your store was very pleasant.
Skylon P. Jackson had his Customer Service skills on point. Very informative
patient also polite to your other customers
that was around. We need more like him.
Thank you again Skylon P. Jackson!”
“It should be a ZERO! I just ordered $200 worth of bedding. The sent it to the wrong address, like 3 homes ago. The tenants said they don’t have the stuff. Ups said JCPenney provided the wrong address so ups is not responsible for it. JCPenney said they will not refund the $ nor will they resend the stuff to my correct address. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!”
“Customer service refused to do a return after long wait. The lady didn’t know what she was doing, so she sent me to wait in an even longer line. The rudeness got me more than anything. Never again JC Penney…”
“I purchased a recliner from them that came with a 1 year warranty. 6 months after purchasing the recliner, the wooden frame broke which made me really sad because I LOVED this recliner. I looked at what the warranty covered and saw that wood was covered so I called JCP to let them know that my recliner had broken.
I was told by customer service that they would get this over to the department that handles repairs and someone would call me within the week to discuss my options. That took almost a month before anyone called me back. They blamed it on COVID but this just happened a couple of months ago so not sure if that’s the real reason.
They finally called and said that they can’t repair my recliner because they would have to cut the fabric to do so. I was told my options were to pay them to come pick it up, pay a restocking fee, and then they would refund me for the purchase price of my recliner once I purchased another recliner from them OR they would give me a 30% credit to keep it as is.
I don’t understand why they would warranty something they can’t fix. I am so glad I didn’t spend the money to purchase the extended warranty.
I ended up keeping the recliner and paying a third party to come and take it to the dump. The entire experience with JCP regarding how they handled my recliner breaking was very disappointing. I don’t plan to buy anything else from them.
They lost a “valued” customer. :-(”
“The product selection is not as large as it used to be. One thing I have noticed is salespeople acting and dressing in a very non-professional way. The lady that waited on me today at the pick up counter was wearing a faded black sweatshirt. The other clerk was wearing leggings with a tight shirt that was a bit short. Not sure what the dress code is, but there should be one.
Lots of personal conversations going on while waiting on customers.”
“The product I ordered online was not the correct measurement, and they charged me $8.95 shipping the first time I ordered the dress. Later, due to measurement issues, when I wanted to change the size of the dress, they requested another $8.95 shipping fees. That's paying almost $18 for a $40 dress! And their customer service was also the worst! Truly a let down.”
