“I have had a very bad experience buying from Laptops Direct. The laptop I received had a HP onscreen WARRANTY STARTED 10 MONTHS PRIOR TO MY PURCHASE, which left me less than 3 months HP warranty, even though this was a brand new laptop (1 years warranty), so in my opinion this points to a strong suggestion of the laptop being a second-hand laptop. My laptop also had a fault with the Windows software making the laptop not fit for purpose. They said software was not covered under the warranty even though Windows is sold with the laptop. I asked for a refund within the 14 days which was ignored, they then replied after this time had expired to say it’s too late for a refund, they could offer a repair only and that it would take 2 months to repair if returned to them. They told me to do a factory reset (I suspect a number of customers wouldn't know how to do this), I had little option so tried, the outcome was the resets failed. I am now in contact with trading standards, citizens advice, and if all fails will end up in small claims court. My experience has shown their customer service give the sense of stringing you along with IMO unhelpful emails which also includes receiving replies from a different employee where you then have to restart the process of explaining the problem again etc.. THIS COMPANY I UNDERSTAND IS PART OF THE BUY IT DIRECT GROUP.”

“There was a problem with the address on the card used to make my purchase, I called the support team, we sorted it out in ten minutes and was able to complete and ship my order the same day. All items arrived next day, well packaged and on-time.”

“Order No.36604933 - Laptop & MS Office for my Daughter who's doing a Masters in Aberdeen. Initially bought in my name and contact details... This would not have been accepted as a delivery item at an all female accommodation building at the UNI. So your staff were able to change delivery details and contact details to that of my daughter and delivery went off without a hitch. She loves it... So much lighter, faster and more powerful that her existing laptop.. Well Done And Many Thanks Steve”

“Good web site and service. Only criticism - and the reason for dropping one star - is about the choice of courier service. If DPD can advise in advance by SMS it'll be a morning or afternoon delivery then tell you on the day which hour, then others can. There's no excuse not to use such services for high value items.”

“AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! Read the reviews, on here before you go anywhere near this company. They are quite possibly the worst company I have ever dealt with. They left me in tears after dealing with their customer service department, what awful people, I have never been treated so badly as a customer before. I am amazed that they are allowed to trade like this.”

“Absolutely one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. If you buy from them, pray you don't ever need to return anything as their no quibble returns policy is a lie and their after sales 'care' is appalling. They ignore messages and emails, they are rude on the phone and managers/supervisors refuse to even speak to you. I wish I had read other reviews before I purchased from these incompetent crooks.”

“I was very impressed by Laptops Direct. Being invited to suggest a neighbour with whom the item could be left, and then having it confirmed in writing, was reassuring. As was having an on-the-day progress report about when the delivery would arrive - and a photo of the delivery man!”
