“Firstly I have to say that I received perfect customer service from Lightinthebox. The lady who helped me when my ordered item was out of stock could not have been nicer or more accommodating. The refund for the unavailable item was made very quickly, without my having to ask, and included the postage costs. Sadly when the shirt I'd ordered arrived it was absolutely nothing like the one in the photo. I had ordered what looked like a cheesecloth hippy/beach bum shirt, a simple item, which had it been anything like the photo would have been excellent. Unfortunately their photography is very clever and I would hazard a guess that NOTHING they sell is similar to that photographed because you will notice in every picture of a printed material item the pattern has been photo-shopped on so it looks vibrant and the material looks starched and crispy. It is not like this in reality, and despite their excellent customer service the product was a huge disappointment. If you intend to use them, be assured you will be disappointed, so do not build up your hopes. My £22 item was just two bits of bedsheet material stitched together, nothing remotely like the great-looking cheesecloth beach item in the photo. I'm really sad as had hoped to order £hundreds worth of stuff from them. The cleverly altered photos make their products look fabulous, but reality is a serious disappointment.”

“Beware. I don’t believe their positive reviews. I was informed by the delivery company that I owed £100 customs. I wouldn’t pay it. I now have no dresses and no refund.”

“I would give them a zero rating if I could. I ordered two boys suits from here. I was weary as you never know when you order online. But I was desperate as I could not find something local. They were to be matching suits in black. When the order went through I saw the date of delivery was longer then I anticipated and I also got cold feet. The website said they would cancel your order if you did it during the processing phase. I cancelled the order immediately but they responded and refused to cancel it as they said it would arrive in time. But when it did get here, the packaging was awful, and one of the suits was blue. I requested a refund if I return it but they refuse to cover all the costs. I understand their website says they will not pay for shipping costs, but this was there error and I requested it to be canceled in the first place. The suits were also very cheap looking. Please don’t wast your money here. I have also read other reviews where once the item is returned they don’t refund you.”

“I ordered 18 items totaling $305.84 on March 29th after paying expedited shipping charge of $71.30 I received my order on April 25th and immediately started the return process for 8 items because some are so different from the pictures and the quality is just horrible. When I try to process returns, I was only able select one item at a time and when I tried to select another item to return it does not allow me to do it under same order number. I received an email that this company want me to accept 15% of what I paid? My God I just opened the boxes and I replied to the email I reject the offer and want instruction how to return but still no response. When I tried to process again I am receiving email stating "We are contacting you to inform you that our records show that there is another ticket in our system, we are deleting this ticket and move forward using the other ticket." When I tried to enter the ticket number, I am getting "this ticket is now closed". This company is so deceptive and fraudulent business practices. The items I received look noting like the photos on their website. I need my money back in the amount of $107.46. Pair of earrings that I ordered came in a plastic bag and only part of 1 earring was in the bag. This company has not contacted me about the refund request and I guess I will never my money back. Lesson learn is never to order anything from China and never ever buy from this " light in the box".”

“Never ever buy from this light in the box I was appalled at quality+ didn't look like what was advertised completely different colour i actually had to give to charity should have taken picture but didn't even want to look at it disgusted by it. DONT BUY thats all”

“I went on this site as it said United Kingdom. After I placed my order I soon found out it is based in China and I know for a fact I won't get a refund or be able to cancel my order as they have taken my money but not sent me any notification”

“Ordered 2 pairs of trousers and 2 tops. Wanted X large and they're probably a size 14! The material is thin and very tatty. Unable to get a refund without paying more money so they'll be going to the charity shop. I will never buy from them again.”

“I followed the measurements from the website & even ordered 1 size up. It took 25 days to deliver from purchase date yet the site says Shipping Time: Expedited Express4-7 business days. The jacket was flimsy but I could have lived with that. But I really doubt this is genuine leather, too thin. So the BIG problem was I ordered XL and what I got was more like a MED. Not even close to the site measurements. Looks more like a kids jacket. So the best part? I asked for a refund & here were the options. a) Keep the item and receive a reward of 20% of the product's value. b) Keep the item with a refund of 10% of the product's value. c) Return the item back for a refund. (this option is only for RETURNABLE items They then e-mail me saying it will cost 15-40$ just for a return AND I will lose the original shipping cost. So now I am stuck with a jacket I can't wear & likely I will get maybe 8 bucks backs when I paid 62 including shipping. SCAM-AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!”

“Don't order from this company! I ordered a dress and receive the wrong dress and they wanted me to still pay for return shipping to get a refund! Their error at my expense! And the dress material was like a bed sheet. Very thin and cheap.”

“Don't get fooled by the already mentioned excellent reviews. Both the quality of the cloth and size is wrong. you will order for men they will deliver you women cloth, delivery will be more than 30 days. Moreover, there is no refund or exchange available. Hence please stay away from this company and its product.”

“Dreadful company to deal with. Substandard quality clothing very very cheap materials used DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. Refund policy is ridiculous over 8 weeks and still no refund. Very expensive mistake made.”

“Bought two gowns my size. Size 8. When I got them (took forever) they we’re awful cut. Way to small. Took them to seamstress that said they were not 8. One was a 4 and one was a 6. Loose threads. Shotty work. So disappointed and dissatisfied! I contacted them the day I received them fir a refund. They first offered to refund 15%, give me a 30% discount on next order. I told them I didn’t want. They said it was a made to size order. That’s BS. I ordered standard size. That’s there way of not refunding money. Don’t buy from here. Worst.”

“Got an xxl jacket that an infant couldnt fit into. Company said hard luck I could get 20% back. Checked email and found out 4/5 of the items I had bought from them previously were broken, massively undersized or not remotely as described. Save some money by paying a bit more elsewhere and getting something usable.”

“This company is a complete Chinese scam. The product is so terrible, it's actually garbage. I guess the only benefit was it bringing me to this site to read all the fake 5 star reviews. If you want a laugh, I suggest you head over there. Other than that, avoid this organization at all costs.”

“If you want to send something back its a nightmare. No service and a lot of ignorance. It took 3 weeks to get the ordered product. They make website photos look good. When it arrives it looks totaly different and thin bad quality.Do not buy here”

“Very bad company just a rip off, and they know it would cost more then its worn to send their goods back to China. They state Light in the box UK, so why can't the goods be return to the same UK return address on parcel. It’s Deliberate, that’s why. I will be reporting them to trading standards and also my credit cards company. I Suggest everyone does the same, It’s the only way these companies will get taken down.”
