EBAY take a buyers protection fee then fail to protect you, bought a new HYUNDAI hedge trimmer it broke down just 36 days after i bought it, purchased on the 16 th July i was promised a full refund then they didn't refund me saying it was outside the 30 day period, what a joke i will never buy from them again, selling faulty products that are rubbish.

Most buyers only shop in ebay-official-packaging due to eBay vouchers. If you get a damaged or wrong item, they refund only what you paid—not the voucher value, which isn’t renewed. I asked for a replacement, and they even gave me return details, only to later admit they can’t replace anything—just refund £0.35 (my spend, excluding the voucher). Misleading and unfair. Why request returns if replacements aren’t possible?

No options for sending other than Ebays own. You do not get paid until the item arrives, after that you can start the transfer from your ebay account into your bank account meaning you wait weeks. No other company operates like this.

I never realised ebay was so bad until I saw its pitiful reviews and experienced it for myself. A rogue trader sold an "official" NutiPaw (dog treats) product on ebay. When the item arrived, it looked dodgy. I contacted Nutripaw directly and they confirmed the item was counterfeit and dangerous, it has made dogs incredibly ill. The seller denied all knowledge, then offered 20% refund and then said I must send the item back to China at my own expense, which is against ebay's terms and conditions. Ebay has said the item isnt counterfeit (it is), which has effectively allowed counterfeit, illegal activity to go on within its site KNOWINGLY. What a disgusting company to deal with, your loss in the end as we just wont consider you in the future. :)

Ebay have changed so that now the seller doesn't get money paid out by the buyer for a long time. A buyer pays the money for an item. The seller sends it out without payment. Once the tracking shows delivered Ebay then starts the long process of transferring the buyers money to the seller. This money doesn't go to your bank account though, it takes days to arrive at your "Ebay balance". After that you can start the process to transfer it to your bank account. Shocking.

Ebay is not what it used to be no more, after selling a phone the buyer requested to return it on day 29. Despite having listed it honestly with plenty of pictures the return excuse was it has marks on it and its slow. I had no choice in the matter and ebay dictated the return and issued a full refund including seller costs. I feel it is unfair, I disagree with their returns policy. Where I have since decided to close my account after twenty years of service. I would have scored a zero if possible..

EBay- customer service EBay’s customer service is shocking! After using EBay for such a long time I cannot believe how poorly their customers are being treated and furthermore how the situations are handled. I never had issues as a buyer therefore I never had to contact customer support until I had issues quite recently which couldn’t be resolved with the seller themselves. My case has been going on for a good half a year and it feels like a never ending cycle sending the buyer to communicate with the seller. I have sent mails after mails to the customer support yet I am always getting pushed back to contact the seller or the producer of the product to resolve my issue and get my money back. This is a never ending cycle trying to manipulate people into believing that the seller is trusted and always responds whilst their opinions say otherwise. They require you to contact someone that had their account blocked out of eBay, thinking that the issue will get resolved by magic and allowing you to search up the product information when the product was also removed from the website. I am very upset with customer support and do not appreciate the way they treat their customers since I feel unheard and purely ignored; it feels like a never ending cycle to fix the issue with the seller while the seller disappeared from the website and even though a case was put in for this issue, I was fed with lies that it will get sorted yet closing the case just made it harder to get back and carry on fighting.

Opened an account, sold a few hundred cd's, dvds and video games. Had %100 positive feedback and ebay suspended me, I asked why and they said they dont have to offer an explanation. I asked for the money for the sales to at least be transferred to my balance, they said they're withholding the £358 for up to 90 days. Absolutely terrible site, sold on Vinted, Gumtree and Facebook marketplace for years, tried Ebay and had the worst experience possible

they tell you it's free to sell on ebay for private sellers then they force you to open a buisness account and charge exorbitant fees to sell your tat really disgusting policy that should not be advertised as it's only free to sell on ebay for a short while

Absolutely shocking! My seller account was permanently suspended without any clear reason or constructive feedback on how to resolve the issue. All I received was a vague response: "We can't provide a reason." Extremely disappointing customer service.

I was just charged £16 for an item that didn't sell. I'll never use Ebay again and I hope they go out of business.

Terrible site. Protects there sellers and not there buyers. Removes accurate genuine feedback for there sellers, so there feedback system is very inaccurate.

As usual I will start with the truth about the service I received today from eBay, after a whole day I managed to get someone to talk to me live from eBay. The woman first thanked me for being loyal to eBay for over 20 years, the reason I asked for help was I tried to pay as usual for the item I won which is a hand saw but I couldn't pay because eBay only allows those who have a credit card to buy hand saws and no one else can buy them. What kind of law is that and what kind of law does that I won't say anything because you will know what I can only say. Today no one does anything just record and automatically you can spend the whole day and you won't get anything done. And there are many who at the same time while drinking coffee and listening to you trying to get some help there is no one to answer you but their salaries are very high and good all of us customers especially from buyers and then from those who sell because they also have to pay a part of their earnings that they sell through eBay. I will never use you that a person must have a credit card in order to pay for a hand saw, the lady I managed to talk to after a whole day of trying was not at all kind to confirm my age and she had all my details in front of her on the monitor, if she had been a little kinder the person might have helped. A very strange law passed for hand saws and if I am only 65 years old it will never be clear to me, for that reason I will strictly avoid buying on eBay from now on.

Can i give them zero stars? used ebay for 17 years, its no longer enjoyable to use infact it causes more stress that its worth. The holds, the simple delivery BS , the 'so convenient for ebay delayed tracking system'- so items are delivered and show as so on the delivery agent platform yet ebay show as not delivered. So they can hold your money even longer - pathetic. With all the extra charges to the buyers for the made up buyer protection, it devalues items and puts off buyers. My sales hit rock bottom since the new rules and so did my company business account. Ebay is dead, go elsewhere its not economically viable to use and is by far NOT a quick process so sell unwanted goods which was the whole point originally.

It seems that at every step eBay is destroying the pleasure of trying to sell for private sellers. Buyers fees, simple delivery and extended payments all ruin the experience but do they care?
