“Avoid Matalan Direct at all costs... Online charge - they took more money from my card than the total of the goods I bought. Tried to tell them but they refused to acknowledge the error! Late delivery - Delivery turned up TEN DAYS late! Damaged goods - When they eventually turned up, the mirror was smashed and the wardrobe was a different wood than advertised! Worst customer service - Phoned multiple times and was just brushed off by rude staff. They said I could only return items to store or organise a courier at my own cost! Trading standards need to close Matalan Direct down!”

“Thinking of visiting Matalan in HAYES... well don't. I am a regular customer there and when I attended on 23rd Jan the car park ticket machines were not working... I went in the store and told the sales assistant and she replied yes we know.. 2 weeks later I get a letter from smart parking informing me I should pay £50 .. what a joke. I told them the machines were not working and spoke to the store who confirmed they were not and still expected to pay... is this for real?”

“The mattress that came is really good. I've been looking for a good mattress for a few months. I've got back ache and was told by my dream to change my mattress, this mattress really helped my back.”

“We bought a copper pendent light, which i love! it fits perfectly in the bedroom. Easy to change over and we were able to adjust the length of it no problem. The reason for not rating the delivery service that highly is, Our parcel was actually delivered to the wrong address (without us knowing) it was only thanks to the kindness of the people who it was delivered too dropping it round to our house meant we received the parcel. I think they use Hermes, who aren't great! Had the parcel been delivered to our house, then timing wise it was spot on!”

“Bought the table and two chairs in cream faux leather for sons new flat , very pleasantly surprised at excellent quality of table and the chairs are comfy to sit on . Easy to construct by one woman (!) and very tempted to keep it for my self ! Excellent value for money and fab quality .”

“I ordered a Grace Chair in beige , for a corner of the bedroom.It was very easy to order and delivery was 15 - 17 days. It arrived in 7, delivered by a very helpful delivery man.The legs were stored under the seat, and can be fitted easily. Chair is very comfortable and fits corner beautifully.Very pleased with both chair and service I received.”

“Very pleased with the chair. Just big enough for my needs and comfy to sit on! The colour and quality of the materials used in the making of the chair seem to be of good quality. As regards the delivery of the goods - everything went to plan and arrived when stated and dead on time.”

“The shelving unit I ordered was nice but it was hard to tell from the description if the veneer was real wood or just laminate and turned out to be laminate as it was described as wood. but it's still very nice.”

“I ordered a number of item: leggings; t-shirts; faux leather jacket and boots. Each item was quality and excellent value for money. Each article of clothing was true to size and did not shrink after a couple of washes.”
