“The delivery was poor. It hadn't arrived when the email said. 2 When I phoned matalan they said it would be picked up in the next 24 hours by parcelforce and they would get in touch with me to arrange delivery 5 mins later they arrived at the door it was by chance that I was in. Parcelforce didn't get in touch with me at all. The table wasn't quite high enough to go over my knees so I added some castors and now it's perfect.”

“Very pleased with the coffee table - good quality and great price. The only thing that let's them down is Parcelforce - the order details stated I would be contacted with a delivery date and approx time. I heard nothing from Parcelforce and when I got home from shopping there was a card through the door saying the item was at the Post Ofiice - not even an option to have it redelivered. Heavy item thankfully the very helpful man at th PO helped m to my car - I couldn't have lifted it alone. Not good enough when they charge £15 for delivery.”

“This rather negative review is due to the difficulty of returning this product to Matalan Direct. I felt there was a lack of clarity in the procedure and poor communication with me e.g initially no e mails etc and it took 4 phone calls and a weeks delay before the product was eventually picked up.”

“Delivery was not arranged by phone or text. Delivery was incomplete and one parcel was delivered the next day . Packaging was damaged and therefore the item inside was damaged. The packaging was very inadequate for said item. And the no quibble returns policy seems to be non-existent as when I spoke to customer service I was asked to send photos via a smartphone which I was unable to do. Still waiting for the call back telling me what to do!”

“Disgusting service paid for an item in a Matalan store. Arranged delivery date never happened they rang me to say it wasn't being delivered. Second time arranged for delivery they never turned up. So I asked for my money to be refunded back. Would not recommend anyone take out their service.they rang to apologise and offer me vouchers for inconvenience. Guess what never received them. Don't order waste of your time”

“First product which was delivered was heavily damaged. Paid £20 for 2 man delivery. One man carried the item, couldn't see where he was going and dropped the item into my front door, scratching it. Replacement item was in better condition , but still not perfect.”

“I have had 2 recent deliveries from matalan direct and with both deliveries there were mix ups due to lack of communication. However both mistakes have been resolved after a few phone calls to matalan direct, who were very helpful and apologetic . I am happy with my products, I will continue to shop with you and have recommend you to my friends. 😊”

“Matalan can only very occasionally make me happy.. but at the best of times I leave the store without getting what I want because there are never any right sizes. I have identified this as a problem for some while, stock is not being monitored carefully especially in the Swansea stores. I am an average built male and usually wear medium sized tops, t-shirts, sweat shirts etc, and 32 regular in jeans. I am finding pretty much all the time that there is always way to much stock in sizes large, extra large and extra extra large , but very little stock in small and medium. Its the same with jeans , way too much 36 plus waist and not enough (if any) left for sizes below. Its almost like too much stock is being ordered for the larger sizes and not enough of the most popular sizes for average built men. Quite often I visit the store to get something and leave disappointed, I then go back a week later , sometimes even 3 weeks later and the stock left is pretty much exactly the same as it was at my first attempt. You (Matalan) are losing a lot of business due this problem, I have several family members and friends who have noticed exactly the same”

“I was very happy with my armchair and footstools. The delivery service was good too. However I would not have ordered anything at the prices quoted online for delivery to Cornwall , but the nice man at Matalan gave me a special code. Thank you. I am less than 10 miles from my nearest store so I don't understand the eyewatering delivery charges.”

“I have always found Matalan products very good quality but the curtains I purchased took a long time to deliver, then the quality was shocking!! Very thin, looked washed out, nothing like picture and even though lined you could see through them”

“It was a shambles from start to end and I have been completely messed around. Firstly you wanted to charge me a ridiculous amount for delivery and then you couldn't get that right. I opted for delivery on Monday 5 March. You then said on 15 February that it would be delivered the following day. I made arrangements for my Mum to go to my house but you cancelled in the morning. I then didn't hear anything so I called you last Friday and was assured by Isaac that it would be delivered on Monday. He was also going to speak to the warehouse and call me back if there was a problem. Again I didnt hear anything until an email at 3am on Monday morning saying it would be delivered on Tuesday. My boyfriend had arranged to stay at home on the Monday by that point. I then glad to arrange for someone else to accept delivery on Tuesday.”
