“Matalan can only very occasionally make me happy.. but at the best of times I leave the store without getting what I want because there are never any right sizes. I have identified this as a problem for some while, stock is not being monitored carefully especially in the Swansea stores. I am an average built male and usually wear medium sized tops, t-shirts, sweat shirts etc, and 32 regular in jeans. I am finding pretty much all the time that there is always way to much stock in sizes large, extra large and extra extra large , but very little stock in small and medium. Its the same with jeans , way too much 36 plus waist and not enough (if any) left for sizes below. Its almost like too much stock is being ordered for the larger sizes and not enough of the most popular sizes for average built men. Quite often I visit the store to get something and leave disappointed, I then go back a week later , sometimes even 3 weeks later and the stock left is pretty much exactly the same as it was at my first attempt. You (Matalan) are losing a lot of business due this problem, I have several family members and friends who have noticed exactly the same”

“I was very happy with my armchair and footstools. The delivery service was good too. However I would not have ordered anything at the prices quoted online for delivery to Cornwall , but the nice man at Matalan gave me a special code. Thank you. I am less than 10 miles from my nearest store so I don't understand the eyewatering delivery charges.”

“I have always found Matalan products very good quality but the curtains I purchased took a long time to deliver, then the quality was shocking!! Very thin, looked washed out, nothing like picture and even though lined you could see through them”

“It was a shambles from start to end and I have been completely messed around. Firstly you wanted to charge me a ridiculous amount for delivery and then you couldn't get that right. I opted for delivery on Monday 5 March. You then said on 15 February that it would be delivered the following day. I made arrangements for my Mum to go to my house but you cancelled in the morning. I then didn't hear anything so I called you last Friday and was assured by Isaac that it would be delivered on Monday. He was also going to speak to the warehouse and call me back if there was a problem. Again I didnt hear anything until an email at 3am on Monday morning saying it would be delivered on Tuesday. My boyfriend had arranged to stay at home on the Monday by that point. I then glad to arrange for someone else to accept delivery on Tuesday.”

“Ordered a parcel online and paid extra for next day delivery. Courier said they left parcel in a secure location of my porch, I don't have a porch and no parcel. Contacted customer services, had to investigate however could not ring me back due to no out going calls, can only corrospond by email. The parcel arrived eventually.. with the original date ordered on label, courier lied about the delivery....I'm still waiting for a reply from Matalan with an explanation and the parcel arrived too late for a present. Still waiting to see if they going to refund for the delivery charge. Wish I read the reviews before ordering from them.”

“Speedy delivery, arrived on time and lovely drivers only issue is cost of delivery! £20 when already spending £200+ is a little steep especially as no click and collect option available. Other companies delivery for free or at a reduced fee. Would make me reconsider buying in future.”

“Ordered Table & 4 Chairs although flat packed very easy to put together as I,m in my 60's & did it on my own. Driver very good put packages in room of choice.”

“Ordered 4 chairs out of those 4, 2 of the chairs legs weren't right and we had to drill new holes so that they fit and weren't wobbly, this was after the delivery driver moaned and asked me to help bring them up to my property.”

“The furniture I ordered was delivered when they said and was of the quality I expected for the price , however when I wanted to return an item that was surplus to requirements, I had to pay £50 to have it collected when it was only cost £109 ! So make sure you actually want an item before you commit to the order as their returns policy is pants !!!!!!”

“Ordered a mattress at the beginning of January. Money was taken from my account straightaway. Picked first delivery date available which was in February (4 weeks later). Booked day off work. By the morning of delivery I still had no idea what time it would be arriving. I called Matalan Direct several times during the day and each time I was assured and fobbed of with excuses that my mattress had been dispatched and should still be arriving that day. At 4.30 pm that day I got a call to say label had fallen off and now it couldn't be delivered until the following Monday. I was unable to waste another days holiday from work, so I cancelled and was refunded. I was offered no gesture as an apology for the inconvenience. Would not recommend using Matalan Direct.”

“Not happy with the quality of the products at al. Description said it is solid wood. Not at all.its made of ply wood every single leg came with a white sticker on it which would NOT come off without leaving mark. I paid good quality furniture price and got ikea quality. Only reason I didnt send it all back was to keep the wife happy. Not a happy customer at all”
