No ethics, no customer service, quality poor. Started off with postage charged when it was meant to be free over the purchased amount. Then the wrong products were sent to me. Endless emails each taking 3+ days to get a reply to any communication. Then it would be just a one line message that meant I had to go back to them again for more information. I returned my products to them to be replaced. Mountain Warehouse deny getting them. Do not deal with this company. Nothing has been a good experience. Now I am in resolution trying to get my money refunded. STEER CLEAR OF THIS BUSINESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have had bought 3 times from from MW. The quality on the coats is low. But so is the price. One of the items is value for money the others are junk. Two things are of real concern: 1) All the reviews on the web site are all good. My 2 star reveiw doesnt appear on the web site. It looks like they are filtering the content to take out the bad comments. 2) the returns policy is in name only. It is so hard to get a mistake fixed it clearly is company policy to make it difficult.

I bought a pair of Mountain Warehouse branded walking boots for over £100 - they had been lightly used and I noticed the stitching starting to come away from the sole and canvass (they are supposed to be waterproof). Despite being just 3 weeks over the 1 year anniversary of purchase I was offered no compensation / refund or exchange. Overall poor quality all round - not to be used again

They always have a so called sale on & lie about the normal/non sale price to make it seem like you are getting a good deal. They make out that their goods are outdoor gear but they are poor quality for the price. Hard to understand how they are still in business but I guess deceiving customers helps.

We ordered on line in store two reclining camp chairs. They arrived a few days later but although packaged as new they were clearly not. Stained and worn. Returning them. Disappointed.

Ordered garden chairs on 6th May, cancelled then on 23rd May after waiting in & 4 phone calls. Took a further 4 & half weeks & more phone calls to get a refund. The staff are pleasant but give a different excuse every time. The system is inefficient & disorganised. Sorry I will not be shopping there again even though the garden chairs were exactly what I wanted.

I recently purchase a festival tent, for myself for a couple on nights backpacking along the Cornwall coast, The weather wasn't dry and we had some showers, it became apparent quite quickly that the tent was not water proof and not fit for purpose, the camping gear got wet in the night and spoilt what should have been a fantastic short break. I have been to many festivals over the years and was not expecting a lot for the money I paid, but did expect it would do want it set on the packaging be fit for the length of a festival come rain or shine NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE, I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Bought mini sheep umbrella. Lasted 5 minutes, small puff of wind, it turned inside out and all the metal struts bent. Didn't return as i'd already waited 20mins in queue, and it was even longer when I went back. Waste of money.

Exmouth branch ordered a pair of trousers for me, to be delivered to their store. I then discovered that the trousers were delivered to a random address in Stourbridge. I have tried to get this problem rectified through emails, a visit to the Exmouth branch and leaving messages on their customer service number. Still no response. It is impossible to get to talk to anyone on the phone and the branch are less than helpful. I would advise anyone ordering on line at home or through a branch to be very careful. They have got my money but I have no goods. Dreadful customer service. I will not be buying anything from them again.

Not fit for purpose- sadly. I bought a wet weather water proof rain jacket in Pink to use as a cover up when hiking and it rains. On its first outing it rained - it is not water proof, and nor is the pink dye anti run. I was soaked inside and also my clothes and myself covered in pink stain. I have always has great faith in the products and sadly this went badly wrong. As i was in the middle of a 4 day hike this was a bit of a disaster.

Wish I’d checked the reviews before buying online. Please don’t, they sent me the wrong shoes & now on their website the price of the shoes I ordered went up. The glasses they sent which said they would fit one size would barely fit a very small baby! They have been ignoring my emails for weeks, still haven’t heard. I’ve lost my money now & have these useless items. I never leave reviews but really felt like I needed to as I don’t think many people would expect this from this company.

Awful company daughter aged 13 ordered some boots for riding, the didn't email confirmation. I contacted them 6 times regarding order which was never even posted and watch time was fobbed off which the same what's your order number, even when all the info was in the previous email. Incredibly frustrating as no number to call and they couldn't even be arsed reading the complaint email and acting on it. 4 weeks later no refund, no item not even confirmation or despatch email yet payment kept! Stay away rip off merchants. I'm going to trading standards Tuesday

I visited the Thame, Oxfirdshire branch today (sat 4/5) as they had lots of camping chairs outside, with a local music festival happening Sunday and with the bad weather I thought it would be a good idea to get a child camping chair for my 2 year old. There was a chair with shark face on that my little boy liked so went inside to purchase, I was then told I could not purchase this chair as the store had no more in stock and needed a display. But they couldn't sell any as no more in stock in the store (also multiple items that you sell that the store doesn't keep stock of but you can still order). I then popped to try another local stores in the town but no where had a child camping chair. Therefore went back to your store to see if anyway I could purchase the chair and was told no. I spoke to your customer services who couldn't even understand why I wanted to purchase one of your products. I was then left with a crying 2 year old as he couldn't have the chair he had seen and being pregnant myself can't carry him around too far had to then take him home in floods of tears.

Purchased a headlamp torch and they failed to send it. Complained, and they sent incorrect replacement. Refusing to send the torch I paid for in full unless I post back the incorrect replacement at my expense. Back and forth with many e-mails and a waste of time. Why should I pay for their mistake, and I consider it theft that they have my money and have never supplied the item i paid them for. BEWARE!!!

I ordered a pair of Z4 mens sandals from the UK website on 20th April and had them sent to my French address. They arrived on 30th. The problem started when I fed in my card details on the website, no sooner had I finished inputting the card security code when the page flipped back to the beginning. No order number etc. and the amount for the transaction was allocated from my UK bank account. OK so that was eventually sorted (phone calls and emails +7 days wait for the cancellation) and I reordered using PayPal this time. Sandals arrived and look nothing like the description/picture on the website. Instead of the nice brown suede colour these are a sort of sickly grayish brown. The sandals on the net are advertised as having soft lining whereas these are hard plastic, the soles are even different design! Never again! My task now is to return these things without cost to myself and wait for a refund. Failing that I will put in a claim via PayPal.

Walking boots of appalling quality, they split within three months light use. MW did agree to swap them for another pair however I ended up paying out for this ‘privilege’. As I wanted to minimise the risk of this happening again, I picked a different pair which were (slightly) more expensive and MW felt this was acceptable ‘compensation’ for my previous purchase of, a not cheap, poor quality item. Turns out that, despite the shop managers rude exclamation that this hasn’t happened before, a quick look on Facebook suggests it happens all to often.

Ordered a size 6 in a walking shoe, couldn't even get my foot in it, does no-one check their sizing? Sent it back for a refund, only to discover they deduct money from your refund as payment for postage. Pay for delivery and pay to return. Will never order from them again.

I can't remember a time when I made a high street purchase and came a way so happy after spending money. I bought a waterproof jacket, a bottle of clean/waterproof fluid and some dubbin. The manager Tom at the Intu Centre could not have been more accommodating and personable. I came away feeling that I had had a very positive shopping experience AND at bargain prices. Well done Mountain Warehouse. I'll be back.
