Unfortunately there was not a NO STAR option as that would be more appropriate. I sent a perfectly working iPad which I had to check over before I sent as had to disconnect from iTunes etc. They wrote an email saying it had "liquid screen damage" which is not true at all and sent a revised offer of £4.50!!! I have rejected the offer and fingers crossed I will actually receive the item back as now not holding out much hope reading other reviews. Having done more research now I realise that there are so many similar dreadful reviews on the money saving expert forum - please read before you sell anything. Try searching on the forum for reviews on moneysavingexpert. So many people with similar experiences (item in good condition but email received with a revised low offer of less than £5 for tech after being quoted high prices).. Disappointing as wasted a long time packing and sending etc and now have had to decline their offer and sell on eBay. Don't waste your time - use a different site.

Really bad. As other reviews have stated, they provide a large quite to recycle your phone but then come up with a nonsense reason to change to a much lower, frankly insulting offer. I asked them to return the phone and it has come back missing a part (SIM card drawer). Raised a complaint nearly 2 weeks ago with no response. Emailed several times, nobody cares.STICK WITH O2 RECYCLE, I WILL BE DOING. They've never let me down, yes they quote lower but stick to their word. AVOID AVOID AVOID

Hello Deborah, We're sorry to learn your experience was not positive. When your item was received and tested, it was found to be faulty, rather than in good condition as originally stated. This was due to liquid damage, the missing SIM tray and the device was found to be a different model than was originally listed. The device was regraded and a revised offer was made in light of this. As the revised offer was rejected, the item was returned to you free of charge, as per our price promise. We apologise for any delay in emails - our complaints team will investigate further and be in touch. Your patience is appreciated. Kind regards, mM CS

I am absolutely appalled by Music Magpie. We order two iPhone 7 plus's for our two daughters for Christmas, in good faith of the excellent reviews on Trust Pilot having always relied on their reviews to inform my decisions Both phones were received promptly well in time for Christmas. Well packaged. We looked over the phones and wrapped them to go under the Christmas trees. Sadly within days one of the phones developed a sound fault, poor tinny sound, this was returned. Within another week our other daughters phone developed many faults. Pixelating photo images, no sound when someone telephones her and very frustratingly the touch screen would not respond for many hours. The first mobile phone was not replaced by music magpie but refunded. Loaded with good trust pilot reviews we just thought we were unlucky, so tried again and order a new iPhone 7 plus. It again arrived promptly and again was faulty. The touch screen was lagging and misses letters/numbers when typing.... this will need to be returned too. We are still awaiting the results of the second returned iPhone 7 plus which was received by Music Magpie a few days ago and we are awaiting a confirmation email. I have tried contacting them via facebook as their email address takes days to get a response... The reply I had, was neither apologetic or understanding which has fueled my disappointment in Music Magpie. We have been patient (it took over 3 weeks to process the 1st returned phone) and just want our money back. The third phone will be promptly returned tomorrow (was only received yesterday). I understand one phone can be unfortunately faulty, but 3? A sincere apology and understanding would have prevented my negative review. Now I want nothing more than my money back...

Came back with a ridiculously low offer for my phone compared to original quote. Claimed the quality of phone was poor. Not the case as it was nearly new, with no dints or scratches. Will never use again.

Hello, We're sorry to learn your experience was not positive. When your device was received and tested, our technicians found the item was not in good condition as originally listed. Due to scratches around the edge of the screen, the item was deemed to be in poor condition. Because of this, the item was regraded and a revised offer was made. As the revised offer was accepted, payment was authorised for the item on 28/12/18. Kind regards, mM CS

Ordered a phone from music magpie, did not receive a phone in the condition I ordered. They deliberately obscure the phones condition from the shopping cart and from the order confirmation email and then accuse me of ordering the wrong phone and will only refund if I pay return postage. Responses from customer care team were unhelpful, unprofessional and at times also rude. Customer complaints dept took a long time to respond but did eventually cover cost of return but only after I pointed out several areas of distance selling regulations that they do not comply with. They should give full descriptions which they do not and allow customer to correct errors in order which they do not by not giving full descriptions. Took over a week to get refund after they received the phone back. Would definitely not buy from here again, terrible company to deal with. If you want a used phone go to CEX, better phone for better price and you can see before you buy plus they give longer warranty too.

Disgusted. Was offered £291 for my iPhone which I sent in perfect condition. The offer was then revised after 5 days to £174 and they sent me photos of an incredibly damaged iPhone to explain why. I rejected the offer and now await my iPhone back, if it returns damaged which I'm sure it will, what do I do. Entire Christmas ruined

Decided to sell an iPhone with them, given a reasonable offer price. But once they received the phone they told me it counted as poor condition an dreduced the offer price by £50. I declined the offer and waited for the phone to come back. A waste of time and a ploy I believe they will employ many times to get away with paying a lower offer price for goods. Would not recommend to anyone selling.

Hello Charlotte, We're sorry to learn your experience was not positive. When your device was received and tested, the device was found to be in poor condition due to heavy scratches. The screen of the device is covered in a number of scratches which goes beyond the light wear and tear expected of a good condition device. The device was regraded and a revised offer was made in accordance with our terms and conditions. As the revised offer was declined, the item was returned to you free of charge, as per our price promise. Kind regards, mM CS

I sent my phone to music magpie with a £150 quote. Absolutely no problems, fully working phone. Even had its original box, case and charger! Got an email today saying the quality team had checked it over and that the screen was ‘lifted’ (which is false) Then I get offered a counter offer of.. wait for it.... £8!!! Absolutely laughable. This company is just a con. Avoid if you want what your item is actually worth. Absolute joke of a company.

Hello Jess, We're sorry to learn your experience was not positive. When your item was received and tested, it was found that the screen of the device had been lifted as it is coming away from the body of the phone. You can see this when you look down the top of the phone - the screen is coming away close to where the headphone jack is. This kind of damage deems the item to be in faulty condition, so the item was regraded and a revised offer was made. As the phone had originally been listed as being in good condition, the drop in offer price was significant. The revised offer reflects what we are currently offering for a faulty Pixel 32GB. If a device is revised we will provide the reasons as to why and you have a 14 day grace period to accept or decline. As you declined the revised offer, the item was returned to you free of charge, as per our price promise. Kind regards, mM CS

I did my research before I chose who I sold my items through, and while MusicMagpie look like they have good reviews this is mostly for buying. If you are looking to sell your tech, I strongly advise you sell elsewhere. I went to sell two Apple laptops (a 2008 and 2012) through MusicMagpie, and it was an awful experience. I sent the two laptops and one charger. Once my items were delivered, I received two emails. The first one said that my item (2012 laptop) was missing a charger, and reduced the cost by £108 (incredible as a brand new charger is £80). The second email said that as the item I had sent (2008 laptop) was not recognised they would not be returning it, and would recycle it as per their terms and conditions. This applies to media items, not tech, and I had to call to clarify this and ensure I was actually getting my laptop back. With regards to the so-called missing charger, I was told that it was absolutely not in the box, and that they could not check as packaging is instantly recycled. The attitude was very much ‘nah it’s not there, nothing we can do’. I was told they would return my laptops, but not my charger as according to them it was never there. My options were to accept the significantly lower price, or have my laptops returned to me. My 2012 laptop came back first, without its charger. I had to chase the 2008 laptop which was several days later, and lo and behold had the missing charger in the box! The entire experience has been baffling. If the charger was not missing, why did they devalue my laptop? If it wasn’t missing and they found it why did no one contact me to say they could honour the original selling price? It’s raised so many questions which all point to dodgy dealings from MusicMagpie. It’s very suspicious, as I strongly suspect they just said it was missing in the hopes that I would accept the lower pricing rather than going through the hassle of getting my items back. If you look through seller reviews this seems to be a recurring theme. While I have my items back, this has taken around 3 weeks of hassle and a lot of stress. I strongly advise sellers not to risk MusicMagpie.

Phone sent still no payment over 10 days later, no one can tell me why there has been a problem and manager too busy to speak to me. Keep being told nothing can be done and they will email when the warehouse gets back to them. Not good enough, have requested return of my phone. Complete waste of time.

Hello Scott, We're sorry to learn your experience was not as positive. In regards to the device that was regraded to poor condition, this was due to scratches on the screen of the device which goes beyond what we can accept as being in good condition. The price we could offer was affected too, and as the revised price was declined, the item was returned to you free of charge. As we state in our terms and conditions, we check every device against the National CheckMend register. As the other device was flagged in reference to an insurance claim, it could not be tested until this issue was resolved. Once this issue has been cleared with CheckMend, we can proceed with the order. Kind regards, mM CS

Sent my Iphone 6 to them. The phone was fully working and in a good condition for the age. Within a couple of days I got email saying that the phone is faulty, according to their engineer it is not accepting simcards. I have phone them up and challenged this. I was advised that another engineer will retest. This time round they came back saying that the phons is actually accepting the simcard but it is water damaged. Another lie. Anyway, I have asked them to send the phone back. Avoid this timewasters at all costs. Looks like they give you a good price online and then trying to bring it down hoping you won’t bother.

Hello Marcin, We're sorry to learn your experience was not positive. As mentioned, when your device was tested it was found that the item was not accepting SIM cards. Liquid damage was noted too, as explained on the call with our agent. Please note, our agent explained that liquid damage was found as well as the SIM card issue, rather than just liquid damage. These faults meant the item could not be accepted as being in good condition - the device was regraded to faulty and a revised offer was made. As the revised offer was declined, the item was returned to you free of charge, as per our price promise. Kind regards, mM CS

I sent in 2 boxes of tech and media, got a price of £34. When the payment came through I only got £13, they claimed I didn’t send in a PSVITA from one box and 3 games in another box but got everything else in those boxes! I checked the box twice before sending and KNOW they were all in there! My son wanted to use the money for vbucks! DO NOT SELL ANYTHING TO THESE THIEVES!!!!!

Music magpie have claimed my phone was damaged when they received it and have reduced their offer from £215 to £65. The phone was in perfect condition, cleaned meticulously and packed carefully and posted in front an independent witness. A Google search shows there is a history of such complaints against musicmagpie.
