Bad signage to and from available spaces - lines on the roads are not visible enough. Upon entering the car park it clearly states take a ticket and upon exit pull up to the ticket machine and insert ticket and barrier will lift to allow you to leave - this system clearly does not work because the last twice I have had to reverse back to the office - waste 10 minutes sorting the ticket out to allow me out of the car park - total inconvenience. Poor state of affairs.

Twice parked in short stay and on both occasions unable to exit carparking as machine stated ticket expired when it clearly had not! We were advised that this was due to having a private number plate?? If this is a known problem with the system why has it not been rectified?

courtesy bus took ages to collect in the early hours, then on return the courtesy bus drove off as I approached the stop, they must be aware that the KLM flight from Schipol is always full and at what time it disembarks, had to wait 15 mins in the cold yet again!!

When returning from holiday, collected car, put ticket in machine and message on screen read payment due £141.00 had to reverse, queue of cars behind pouring with rain!! went into the office and explained to the young woman behind the counter, who had NO customer service skills, she was abrupt in her manner, I got my confirmation letter out showed her, she printed off a new ticket stating "this will now get you out"- no apology or explanation.... took the new ticket out (in the pouring rain and pitch black) put it in machine and machine wouldn't accept it !!! my husband got out of the car _huge line of traffic behind ,,,, could not reverse a man came out and had to fix the machine, he was very pleasant.

As usual lots of car parking closed off not in use so a ten minute drive around to find a space. On return from the holiday no sign of a bus to transport us to the car park . After walking down from the terminal 2 busses parked by the office with a driver sitting having a cup of tea. Upon trying to exit ticket not accepted by the machine same as the last time so park up get a new ticket from the office. Apart from these points great service!

On the 19th/20th November a good number of the long term car parking areas were closed with no explanation as to why. The rest of the airport was ok and is normally stress free and a pleasant place to be.

I usually have very good experiences parking in the short stay car park at Newcastle Airport. Unfortunately on this occasion when I came to leave I had major problems. I always book in advance, collect the ticket on entrance as directed and then insert the ticket at the barrier on leaving and the barrier rises. This was a very cold damp evening at about 11.00pm. When I put the ticket in I received a message saying it could not be read. So I pressed the button for help. As far as I could tell there was nothing wrong with the ticket. I use this car park so often I always have my booking details handy in case of problems. Unfortunately I had to wait a very long time for a response and had to press the button a number of times. Meanwhile a very long impatient queue built up behind me. After a tiring journey it would be good if the barriers worked properly.

Seems to me there forcing you to park further and further away from the main terminal by closing the car parks closest in the hope you will use the short term parking etc. Yes there is a bus service but how often does that run at 4:30 in the morning???

For 20-30 mins there was no transfer coach even during day time. I informed using intercom but the transfer service was very poor and ended walking from long distance car park with kids and luggage to the terminal. Few parking spots were closed but they were half empty making as park very far from terminal.. Very poor service

Despite booking and paying in advance, we were unable to exit the car park and had to request assistance. Waiting in cold and rain by the machine for an attendant to override the exit barrier.

Getting in to the car park was easy, however getting out was ridiculous- having prepaid for the parking the number recognition & ticket wouldn't work and I was asked for the full payment, I had to go over to the cabin & show the booking before the barrier was lifted by the attendant. It was midnight & it seemed to be happening to lots of others as well!!

Paid for 3 day in advance online. When I went to revalidate my ticket prior to exiting the car park, the machine said I owed £78..Extremely annoying, and if I was a foreign visitor may not have known to go to the kiosk for help. Disappointing.

Car park not easy to access. Obviously empty car parks .. Noted as FULL? Car park itself , looks likes a ghost town...tumbleweed pot holes and stones all over.. More like a derelict site after a demolition.. Goodness knows what international travellers make of it. On our return . Unable to exit site without paying £85 ..... By the way already paid. Had to go to office at 1:30 am to discuss with staff. Advised not showing on system. Advised this has happened all day... Luckily we had our paperwork to prove paid.... Just wanted to get home that's why we booked airport parking in the 1st place Would we do it again. We'll have to way up if it's worth the effort and expense. We only live a few mile from the airport. A taxi both ways costs about the same and at least there is no hassle . It would have to be a lot better for me to book again.........

hi on entering the short stay car park I took the ticket from machine as instructed parked up and thought no more about trying to get out on return !!!! I had booked car park until 2300hrs we landed at 22,20 we proceeded to the exit barrier as instructed with ticket issued on entry only to find that the machine said ticket expired pay at machine so the barrier stayed down I had 3 cars queued up behind me waiting to get out so I was stuck with no way off getting out I had to ring for help the nice guy I talked to said I need your booking ref number as the camera scanning my number plate was not registering my entry eventually after a 5 min search in hand luggage I found my paperwork told him ref number by this time I had been stuck at barrier 10mins this in my opinion is not good enough as I paid more to be in the short stay closer to terminal than the cheaper long stay to which I have parked lots of times without any hassle to exit whatsoever

The automatic number plate recognition did not work so I had to go and ask for help from the kiosk. I was told I needed my ticket, which luckily I had kept but as far as I understand it the system should work with number plate recognition - another car appeared to exit using this. The bus pick up service was very good and efficient and car parking secure. Easy to refind my vehicle.

The parking site is huge and although Pre-booked you don't receive a designated parking space, not even a designated area, which are marked out alphabetically. This resulted in spending some considerable time driving around looking for an empty bay. The other issue was the areas are alphabetical but then when you get on the bus that shuttles from the airport back to the car park they say bus stop 1 bus stop 2 etc. The parking areas are so large you could be at up to 4 bus stops per an area. This is not at all helpful! The attendant at the office you had to visit get your ticket validated when you had pre booked and paid was most unhelpful and rude.. There are better organised offsite parking facilities around the airport which I have used in the past and will return to using.
