Peter and Adam are absolutely the best! Thank you for sharing all of your knowledge and helping us become better musicians. I really appreciate you both!

Love the Double bass instructors. I'm a beginner at the age of 62 wanting to learn how to play the double bass. I've been playing the electric bass for 30 plus years, but now i want to dive into the double bass. Open Studio is the perfect place for me to get my feet wet.

Your courses (Piano) are awesome and very thoughtful. I really really enjoying them. Adam and Peter are really good teachers, and also very cute. Thanks! (from South Korea)

Great content - but having trouble saving my spot in the lessons when I get interrupted and want to come back to it - especially because I am an intermediate player with lots of gaps so I am filling in as necessary but also taking the classes in order …

I thought I'd give it a try, but I had low expectations of how useful online teaching could be, and I have been absolutely blown away by how fantastic the teaching is! I'm actually addicted to practicing. Absolutely worth every penny!

I'm sorry to say that I regret my purchases! I had high hopes, OpenStudio really does have a stellar cast of amazing musicians! I purchased 2 jazz piano courses, I printed my first 100 page course to discover that it is difficult to read, painfully compressed. It's the font size and bunched notes that make it more of a visual challenge rather than a learning experience. Then, I started my second course to discover that the video player has just one setting - video quality... you cannot project/cast to another device, there is no ability to move forward or backwards, just pause, or restart from the beginning with no fast forward!!! Can you imagine? It is exactly like those infomercial ad players that do not allow any control. So, if I want to back up 15 seconds - just reload the page and start over??? Sadly all of the contributors have attached themselves to an anchor, I just wish there was a boat attached.

Hi David, I love giving great news to folks. There are a plethora of keyboard shortcuts to address your issues and more! Apologies that they weren't more evident. If you press the three vertical dots to the right on the playbar, and select "keyboard shortcuts" (or simply press the "?" key) you will see a bunch of common and some even unique ways to make better use of the video, most importantly is the left and right arrows while playing to quickly advance or go back 5 seconds. You can always drag and move the playback indicator on the playbar to move throughout the lesson. Happy practicing! Dan Martin Co-Founder, Open Studio

I am absolutely loving it - you have reinvigorated my imagination and my love of learning this subject. It is so helpful to have the guided practice sessions with Adam, and I really enjoy the podcast discussions as I am currently estranged from my Jazz Community after a recent move. Thank you both for filling a necessary void in my life!

I started playing piano as child....college...adult life and now I would like to really play. My piano education was Classical. I grew up listening to my parents music..."Duke, Oscar, Monk Ella, Sarah, and many more. My interest is Oscar Peterson and after watching your video "play your A off". I purchased the scale beginning course. Thanks for your unique way of approaching learning piano..

Open Studio is an incredible source of information for any serious musician that wants to keep improving. I would say the best music school on line that I have seen. I also love the videos on social media and YouTube.

Excellent learning site for improving the understanding and playing of jazz. I've played the piano for a couple of years (mostly classical) at a grade 1 level. This level of understanding makes it easier to understand much of what is shown on the YouTube videos (although some of it is over my head--but that's OK). Going thru Jazz Piano Jump-start and enjoying it. From some of the comments on the course, I think it would be valuable to list some prerequisites to the course--able to read music, familiar with music terms, etc.--or skills that would make the course easier. And maybe skills that you don't need. Anyway great course. Continuing with my classical education and supplementing it with your Jazz component. The Jazz component has invigorated my enthusiasm with playing. Thanks.

I'm on my first week around. I'm a guitarist learning how to play the piano and this platform has revealed itself has a great friend. Peter and Adam are really good teachers and get a truly engaging dynamic on the explanations. But mainly the content of the clases is so good, that sometimes i feel like they're reading my mind whenever i open the next class. I'm truly grateful to be part of this school!!

I got your subscription but noticed much of your material is free on Youtube. Also, your website should change once you are a paying member. It seems very confusing. Thank you.

Hi Paul. While we do have a variety of educational materials available on YouTube you will find that it is just the tip of the iceberg as all of our full curriculum courses and mentor sessions are exclusive to Open Studio members. Regarding the website, we do have some exciting updates coming very soon that will address your recommendation. Let us know if you have any other questions. Best, Dan Martin co-founder, Open Studio

I find the teachings are for experienced pianists. People who already know how to play. Even some of the beginner Jazz courses are not for people with limited experience.

Hi Brad, The course you have access to, Essential Jazz Piano Etudes is likely not best suited for all beginners. However we do have a number of Level 1 or 2 courses that may be better for you. Take a look here: https://www.openstudiojazz.com/piano-pathway and let us know if there is a course you would like us to exchange it for. Best, Dan Martin co-founder, Open Studio

I simply love the pace of classes, I would say that the classes are the most similar experience to a class with a private professor
