“Great experience with PC Specialist. Website is very easy to build a machine to your spec and they were very helpful in exchanging emails about which options fitted together and suited my needs. Prices all transparent and the well packaged delivery was within a week of ordering. Very happy with machine after using it for a couple of weeks. Would recommend.”

“Terrible experience! €1,600 for a PC that was problematic from the very beginning. I bought a PCSpecialist Ionico Series laptop for around €1,600. Things started badly right away: despite the advertised delivery times, the computer arrived after about a month. The worst issue, however, became obvious almost immediately: it ran ridiculously hot. During benchmarks, temperatures reached up to 100°C, causing thermal throttling and reduced performance. I contacted support straight away, and PCSpecialist themselves acknowledged the overheating issue, suggesting that the thermal paste might be the cause. Over the years, I continued to see temperatures of 97–98°C and I often had to downclock or manually limit the CPU performance just to keep temperatures under control. I also experienced crashes, BIOS and Control Center issues, and generally ineffective support. On one occasion, they promised me an update within 1–2 days, but after two weeks I had to contact them again and the technician admitted that he had forgotten about it. In the end, I solved the problem myself by reinstalling everything. After about two years, the display also failed. PCSpecialist told me that the correct replacement panel was the NE156QHM-NZ1. I pointed out that this appeared to be a 240 Hz panel while my original display was 165 Hz, and I explicitly asked them to double-check. They replied that their technicians had confirmed it was the correct panel. I bought it based on their instructions: it was incompatible. I then had to return it and figure out the correct replacement myself. Finally, after about five years, a chip in the motherboard power circuit failed. I had the PC inspected by three specialist repair centres and received very negative feedback regarding the quality of the components and materials used. At this point, repairing it is no longer economically worthwhile. The battery life was also very poor. For a computer in this price range, I find the whole experience unacceptable: terrible thermal management, terrible reliability, and even worse customer support. After this experience, I wouldn’t buy another PCSpecialist even if they gave it to me for free. I completely advise against buying from them.”

“Easy to use web interface. Good prices. Excellent service and excellent technical support. Sorry to say there was an issue with the PC when it arrived. The live-chat support was very helpfull and the phone support was fab. I would fully recommend PC Specialists.”

“I'm a designer and use a lot of CAD software for product design and rendering, so I need a pretty serious laptop that can handle the workload. Over the past 10 years, I've had three laptops from PCSpecialist, and I'm yet to find another company that can beat them on the combination of price, performance and build quality. Their customer service team has always been efficient and professional, and every interaction I've had with them has been handled extremely well. I'll continue to use PCSpecialist for my equipment until I find someone better — after 10 years, that hasn't happened yet! Cheers, Jack”
