Didn’t know how pet insurances worked cause it’s our first time, took our puppy in 1 day before the actual insurance kicked in for being itchy. Now anything that’s itch related, like ears for example is not covered, which makes no sense. Our pup did a ear cleaning because of a yeast infection, and it’s not covered because it says “symptoms shown 10 days before insurance kicks in is not covered” which doesn’t make sense cause we never brought him in for yeast infection. They will find any way to NOT pay out the insurance.

TAKES FAR, FAR, FAR TOO LONG TO GET REIMBURSED!!!!! IT IS OBVIOUS THAT THE COMPANY IS OWNED BY INVESTORS.

Terrible! They don't cover anything. They say things are wellness and not covered when they aren't. I might as well pay out of pocket and save the premium (which increases every year)

I wish that I would've read the reviews before I gave this company any of my money. If I could give them zero stars, I would. The policies are garbage and the customer service is horrendous. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT GIVE ANY OF YOUR MONEY TO THIS COMPANY!! This is the worst company I've ever dealt with!!

Expensive, takes a long time to process claims, and they don’t cover supplements or food specifically prescribed by the vet for my dogs’’ condition.

My dog had bloat, they kept him in hospital to manage him so they could do his surgery later when it wasn’t as life threatening. So had his surgery when safe and now they won’t pay saying it is elective. Insurance is to help us make safe decisions for our pets but now it seems to be make the best money decision. Not the vets advice. Just terrible.

What a scam. I page more than $1,400 for a dental procedure for my catm and you guys gave me $5 back. Pathetic.

I would be better off not having pet insurance at all. Seems like a complete waste of money on a monthly basis, since PetsBest won't cover the treatment for my ailing dog. My dog is receiving a treatment that they consider 'holistic', which it isn't at all. The treatment isn't surgery, so PetsBest deems it holistic. I've already recommended other pet insurance companies over PetsBest to new pet owners.

So annoying and condescending to sit on hold and be repeatedly told by a robot that "Did you know you can manage your account online?" when the website specifically tells me to call the number because it does not allow what I am calling about, hence why I am calling the number. 24% increase in premium between 2023 and 2024, and only told that the way to decrease the premium was to drop coverage... you know, the reason I am getting insurance in the first place. Y'all and other companies with terrible customer support are the reason I am turning into a Karen.

My completely healthy golden retriever had an accident and was stung/bit by something. $1560 later she was feeling better. Pets Best only covered a little over $300 of my $1560 total. I have been paying my premium with Pets Best since my dog was 12 weeks old and she is 3 and a half now. Took weeks just to get a response from Pets Best on my claim and then I got a reimbursement of a pathetic amount. Feel scammed and it's obvious that Pets Best is not there to help cover any costs. I am urging anyone I know with a pet to STAY AWAY from this company completely.

More like Pets Worst Health Insurance. They promote that if your dog needs knee surgeries, they cover it. Except, when my dog needed knee surgery, they couldn't tell me what would or wouldn't be covered until they could review the invoice. So I had to pay for the whole thing up front not knowing if or what would be covered, only to find out they wouldn't cover it because of a 'pre-existing condition' because he had a couple weeks of lameness 2 years before the surgery. They didn't cover a single penny of a $5k surgery. Then, my dog needed a second surgery on the other knee, and it was the exact same story, couldn't tell me what would be covered till after they reviewed the invoice. Then they didn't cover a single penny on other knee surgery, also claiming 'pre-existing condition' and when I pushed back, they cited that the pre-existing condition was that he had surgery on the other knee... . I don't know about you, but I had ACL reconstruction on my right knee... does that mean that some day I'll need one on my left? Ridiculous. My vet also thought this was ridiculous that none of it was covered and wrote in a personal letter about how it was not a pre-existing condition and should have been covered. My biggest regret in my pets care was choosing Pets Best. I have paid thousands to them over the years I have been a customer only to have had to cover two major injuries 100% out of pocket totalling over $11,000 dollars. It's rare that they cover even the things they say they will. And now I feel stuck with them because my dog is 9 and it feels too late to switch to another insurance carrier. Save yourself a boat load of money and either set the money aside you would pay these folks and self insure, or find another provider.
