I waited quite awhile for processing, and I'm still unclear why the allergy medicine isn't covered under bestwellness plan. I was so hesitant about pet insurance, but risked it and spent over 1k for a year to cover my boys.. I tried calling and waited for 15 minutes trying to get connected to someone only to be disconnected about apoquel. I've heard such good things about petsbest yet I feel like I've robbed my children of experiences because of the money I used for pet insurance. I cannot express how much I regret my decision to buy your insurance. My dog had one routine exam, needed allergy meds and some vaccinations. I submitted my first and only claim and received a handful of confusing documents after almost two months later that explain why most things weren't covered. I feel totally duped. I'm dreading what it's going to be like if I need to submit a claim if there's an actual ER visit. I would be deeply appreciative if a rep could call and help clarify the lack of coverage on the meds my dog needed.

Horrible service, takes months to approve a claim. Made zero attempt to reach out to vet to gather documentation.

Pets Best consistency takes over a month to process a claim. My rates continue to increase every year and many services aren’t covered. I wouldn’t recommend because I think the value proposition is questionable at best.

Your company absolutely failed me and my 8 year old maltipoo - Zeus! Absolutely deplorable!!!! I am sending a letter to yuor CEO outlining how much this compnay absolutely failed on soooo many fronts!!!! I'm forced to leave a star rating as I can leave a zero rating as that is what is deserved!

Not renewing my insurance with them next year. It took long to process and I don’t believe I was rightfully reimbursed. Never I was, even for the wellness claim that I had purchased a plan about it. I encourage people looking for their fury baby health insurance elsewhere.. I would not give them a one star either. They take your money but they don’t honor the claims. In business of making money not caring about your fury babies, although that’s what they want us to believe.

I’ve been a pets best customer for 2 years. I have (luckily) never had to submit a claim, meaning PETS BEST has never had to pay a cent out for my pet. I cancelled my policy last month and they are continuing to charge me for another month because I selected “at renewal” instead of immediately (didn’t even see this option.) After speaking with their customer service (Linda) and an account manager (failed to get her name unfortunately) they were unhelpful and rude. Don’t ever expect them to have a heart and help you after paying for a service you never even used. Biggest scam of a company I will NEVER RECOMMEND them to anyone.

they use to be excellent in serving claims I have been a customer for over 10 years The claims take 8 weeks or more to pay when you ask about your claim being paid your told short staff They increase my monthly premiums for moving to a different state without notifying me and when I question the increase Ivwas told vet charges are higher in that state I am very unhappy with this company but my dog is now a senior and moving to a new company now is not an option

I think the time frame and the way to contact the company is horrible. Had my dog to the vet before even being xray. The vet gave medication and tried to say it wasn't covered because of the next follow up appointment. It's absolutely a joke. Might as well pay out of pocket for it all because that is what I had to do.

I really should have performed a more thorough search for pet insurance. Pets Best has really not performed as one would expect a genuine customer oriented insurance company to perform. Having to pay and wait for reimbursement is a nightmare. It has taken more than 40 days to receive reimbursement. When I asked a representative why such a long wait I was given a response of being short staffed. This in itself lasted more than a year. When it became chronic, it was clear to me that Pets Best does not care about customer service or else they would have hired additonal staff. My premiums are always paid on time and usually every 30 days or less. When reimbursement takes longer than a billing cycle for simple invoice (without additonal documentation required) it it unexceptable. If I told Pets Best I couldn't pay my premium for 40-50 days they would cancel my policy. Unfortunately, I can not get another insurance carrier because all conditions for my pet would be considered as "pre-existing" and therefore the rates would be astronomical and not covered. Everyone who has asked me about pet insurance I have warned them not to get Pets Best. They have all agreed that the reimbursement process is unexceptable and concerning. I regret going with Pets Best.

Got insurance to help with my dogs vet bills. Since getting the insurance I have spent $1100 on vet bills. From that I received $100 refund. Since I have had the insurance I have spent around $200 on monthly payments, meaning having the insurance has caused me more costs than it has helped me. Will probably be canceling soon

It takes forever to get any info back after you’ve sent a claim other than the constant emails stating “sorry for delays”, when I call customer service, easily 20 minute wait. No real clarity on what’s covered and isn’t. I would definitely switch to a different insurance if I could.
