Email communication was good but the claim took a little over a month to process. When I signed up via phone last year I was told the average was less than a week.

My beautiful Standard Poodle abruptly started having symptoms that turned out to be a tumor on his spleen. The cancer is not curable but there’s a slight chance it’s just a benign tumor it would be removed and he would be fine. I couldn’t bare thinking of putting him down if there was a chance he could be fine, though it be slim. Thankfully I had Pets Best so I had the surgery. It wasn’t successful but I gave him every chance to continue his happy and fulfilled life. He was a special friend and I was glad to give him every opportunity to survive. They paid 90% of a very high bill. I received their payment within time to pay off the credit card that I had put the charge on. I was very grateful. I’m so glad LooWee was insured.

Finally got reimbursed after two tries. Both claims took in excess of 30 days for disapproval/approval.

Overall, I am satisfied with the coverage I receive from Pets Best. The coverage options fit my needs and they have been fair in making determinations on my claims. The premiums are reasonably priced for the amount of coverage you receive. The one star off is because they could use some improvement in the processing and payout times for their claims. Surgeries and treatments are costly, and the delayed processing can make it difficult to navigate expenses while you are waiting on reimbursement.

Taking longer and longer to process claims. One of my claims took around 4 weeks before being reimbursed.

Great insurance good coverage slight down fall is the processing times. Sometimes it’s done really fast and other times it takes a little bit. Very happy with the insurance other then processing times

The only thing that disturbs me is that even though I have asked fo an email before automatically renewing my insurance, you have not done so. This year I wanted to add back the pet wellness package. I did not get the chance. Now you have missed a premium increase and I don't have the service. If that happens again, I will cancel my policy. I have been a customer for 3 years. Next year early in June I expect an email reminder along with any changes you have made to your policies. Thank you, Carole

Gretel, my 3 year old Great Dane, got very sick this year. What started with a Rochy Mountain Spotted Fever infection turned into an immune-mediated encephalitis. She had been an extremely healthy dog up to last February, and has had a lot of medications, testing (blood work, MRI, spinal tap) to figure out what has been causing her symptoms, ranging from blindness and fever to mental dullness and not being able to walk. I would not have been able to a lot of the very expensive diagnostics and now treatments had I not had Gretel insured when she was a puppy. She's big, so medications cost more. Anesthesia (for the MRI) costs thousands. Hospitalization and a visit with a Board-certified neurologist is all very expensive. Without insurance, my husband and I would have had to make the final decision pet owners never want to make. WITH insurance coverage, we are now seeing big improvements and Gretel is almost back up on her feet independently!

I am in the middle of a costly diagnostic process with my 9yo Lab. Pets Best coverage has been excellent. Would give it a 5 star except for the lag time in processing claims. (The communication regarding the delays has been good.)

Overall I have been happy but other than this last claim I feel the claims take too long to be processed. This last claim was quicker so I am hoping they continue that way.

I submitted my claim at the end of September and had money in my account before the end of October. So so they sent me canned emails apologizing for the delay there really wasn’t a delay so I’m very happy with the results.

I am generally pleased with Pets Best insurance. It has covered all of my dog's accidents and illnesses. The only reason I gave a four instead of a five star rating is they are slow to pay out after a claim is submitted. It may be that they have to contact my vet to confirm and research and my vet is slow to respond. They do usually pay within 25 days in time for me to pay off my credit card. Otherwise they can't be beat!

The Pets Best Pet Health Insurance is not cheap by any means. It does provide peace of mind if one of my dogs were to get sick with cancer or something more serious. When a claim is submitted, communication is key.

We have the best of the best plan for our three-year-old basett hound. Still, it seems like the coverage doesn't cover as much as we thought it would. We will be looking at our bestwellness routine care plan shortly.
