Wait times for claim processing nearly defeat the purpose of having insurance. Ultimately forcing PetsBest customers to float expenses on their personal lines of credit while PetsBest takes a month plus to get their sh-t together.

It is nearly impossible to reach anyone with questions. The COVID excuse is getting old. I dread turning in a claim because there is always some reason why you can’t reimburse.

Almost 30 days for payment on a wellness claim is unacceptable! Continue to use company growth as an excuse. Payments were made within days prior to new company taking over.

I was shocked that my dog's neuter procedure was not covered fully. I plan to cancel. It is too costly per month for such minimal reimbursement. Disappointed. Patty Cooley

Not quite sure why the xray and exam for my dog was not covered as they weren't routine. My dogs was in distress and this was an unexpected visit.

Hi Salvatore, your claim was paid in your favor per the policy you selected. The claim was $448.70 - $51.00 because we do not cover grooming leaves $397.70 - 30% copay per your chosen policy = $278.39 - $250 annual chosen deductible leaves you with a reimbursement of $28.40. Youve met your deductible for the policy term of 9/10-9/09/2021. Let us know if you have other questions.

Took so long to get my money back took a month my last insurance took one to two days and it was in my account I’m actually still waiting for my money it was approved after I think 29 days but I still haven’t gotten the money I only switch because the deductible and everything went up on my last one so I switched to pets best but I’m thinking of switching it back again and when I did chat to talk to the lady thru app text (the transcript) she was just terrible never even answer my question never came back to help me out just disappeared

Two concerns: First, takes too long for a claim to be reviewed. Second, many claims they will not pay on using pre existing as a way out. Will be looking for another company at years end.

Hi Zach, insurance is meant to help you with the unexpected, broken bones, urinary blockages or cancer. Wellness is not insurance, its a benefit meant to help you offset the cost of what you would be spending whether you have insurance or not, so its not going to pay your full bill for these wellness visits.

It's really not worth the money. I have to pay out nearly $3000 a year before anything is covered, and then its capped at $5000. So you don't break even unless your per needs a surgery for more than $6000, and that's if it's covered. But if the surgery is more than $9000 you'd end up paying beyond the $3000.

Took a month before my claim was even reviewed. My other pets are on another insurance and their claims are processed and completed in 3 days

Considering the amount we pay annually for our dog's medical insurance, we are extremely dissatisfied at how little is determined to be "covered" or even "applied to deductible." We're seriously considering canceling this insurance.

Hi Autumn, the processing time for claims depends on the claim you are submitting. On average it can take 30 business days to process.

I feel like they deny things that should be covered and put it under the guise of "preexisting condition." The annual exam that my dog had was not scheduled due to her allergies. It was the preventative exam that the vet said it was time for her to have. I just happened to ask them to give her an allergy shot since I was there and live an hour away. Of course, they didn't reimburse me for the preventative exam. Which is unethical!

Hi Traci, we dont determine pre-existing issues without medical records and medical history provided by your vet. If you disagree with the claim decision, we recommend speaking with your vet and filing an appeal with supporting records.

Unless you have an ill dog in major need of surgery this insurance doesn't cover much else

Hi Sammi, it actually depends on the plan you choose to enroll for your pet. We do offer catastrophic coverage but we also offer coverage for things minor such as allergies or ear infections to more serious things like cancer. You are welcome to upgrade your plan to a more comprehensive option if you wish. Have a good day!

In years past I have not had any issue, but sadly at a moment when I need it most, there is no communication, coverage is being denied when all around the globe companies are offering waivers/cost-sharing, etc during such an unprecidented time. Everywhere except for at PetsBest, I guess. I really hope they reflect and come thru.

Hi Caryn, thank you for your feedback. Claims will be denied if they dont qualify for coverage. We are an insurance company and are audited to make sure we are processing claims accurately.
