Hardly pays for anything. Not worth having better to pay out of pocket and save on the yearly fee for pet insurance. Would not recommend.

I am a bit disappointed in this insurance. I have two very small dogs and we only do one vaccine at a time. It seems like they do not cover the vet visit for each vaccine. I am only getting minimal payment if anything at all.

I selected the more expensive plan for my dog just to ensure that He’ll be covered for all the possible things that can happen. His first visit was $570, Pets Best only reimbursed me $149. There’s no way I’m paying $80 a month for the fullest and best coverage they offer and I’m not even being reimbursed half of what I spent. I’ll be canceling this insurance policy and switching over to another pet insurance provider.

I wasn’t covered for weeks after I moved and had been covered for months. Don’t try to get coverage for weeks after you moved

Very long wait times to get through by phone. Poor reimbursements, claim denials, and slow reimbursements. I wish I went with one of the many other companies for pet insurance.

I'm very disappointed at the moment I made a claim back on March 26th. They waited until April to tell me they were missing information. Then they asked me to submit a new claim. It took another 2 weeks before It was processed. They barely covered anything. Then they ripped me off bloodwork was $81.20 they put it was $31.20 and only refunded me that amount. I got shorted $50. They said my total balance was $359.70 when in fact it was $409.70 which was clearly stated in the bank statement I sent them. In total I was short $50 and they only covered $184 out of my bill of $409.70

Coverage is not 100%. You will always pay about half out of pocket. If anything shows up in a wellness visit, like ear mites, then it’s no longer considered a wellness visit. Submitting a claim is easy, but the processing & payment takes a long time. I’ve waited for payment for over 30 days.

While service is excellent; mostly online so a great fit for people who don’t “people!” I was very disappointed with my reimbursement on claims. After my deductible I expected 80% (that’s my plan) but they somehow gave me approximately 60% of my claim ... very disappointing, and noted some “unallowable” that they refused to reimburse. Canceling. I could bank my premium and it would have more than covered the vet bills.

When I first started using pets best I started with just 2 of my dogs. I was originally very pleased with the experience. As promised Wellness claims were paid promptly with no issues as time went on I’ve added other pets. This year when I submitted my wellness claims for 2 of my dogs one who had his yearly exam shots needed flea and tick treatment and heartworm and got neutered a sizable claim and one over a week later with just her exam and flea tick heartworm a much smaller claim the larger claim has lingered now for weeks when the smaller claim was paid in under a week. Calls to Pet best have proved impossible last night I remained on speaker phone for 2 hours and never got through. When I was finally finally able to get a chat representative there was absolutely nothing she could do I had chatted a week earlier and had the account notated. No results when the representative again told me the account would be notated. I was outraged there is only one reason a larger claim would be ignored when a lesser claim was immediately processed. I am appropriately outraged and offended and I am not an easy to offend person. I am researching other companies now.

Not happy with the deductible being applied to a wellness plan. I should have read more your policy. My old pet insurance does not apply deductible on wellness only on medical.

They have had my claim since March 19th for my pets surgery. Today is April 11th and I still don't have the 80% I'm due from his surgery. I need my money as anyone will, but I have no idea when I will get it as they are "behind". I'm not too pleased w/Pets Best right now. They get my premium on time every month, I would like the same courtesy.

Always incredibly slow to process claims over the 2.5 years I have used them. Reject claims for not having payment information when it clearly does so I need to search and resubmit since it takes weeks for them to even deny. Very dishonest in their turnaround times they tout.

Hi Tammer, we understand your concern. However, invoices that do not clearly show proof of payment cannot be processed. Once you obtain that information and submit, we will be happy to reprocess your claims.

First claim. Took three weeks to get any kind of information about whether the claim was being handled. Claim submitted 12 March, paid on 2 April. Was pretty straight forward wellness visit for puppy. We'll see how next claim goes.

This was my first claim. I am extremely disappointed at the wait time to get reimbursed for the claim I put in. My previous pet insurance reimbursed within 3 days. This insurance took over 21 days. I pay my premium every month on time when it's due, but when a consumer needs to be paid it takes weeks. Unacceptable.

I HAVE TWO OTHER PET INSURANCES AND IT DOESNT TAKE 30 MINUTES TO SPEAK TO A REP AND 21 DAYS IS TO LONG TO COMPLE A CLAIM MY OTHER TWO INSURANCES PAY OUT IN 3-10 DAYS AND THEY ARE DEALING WITH COVID19 ALSO

Not sure why I pay over $1200 for 6 months just to only get back $100 when it states they reimburse 90%. I will not be renewing any insurance through these guys. Seems like a huge scam to get your money.

What good is paying over a thousand dollars a year in pet insurance only to be reimbursed a few dollars when you actually need to use it? Pets Best applied a diagnosis when my veterinarian couldn’t explain to me what was wrong with my dog. Pets Best decided my dog had a pre-existing condition even though no symptoms, diagnosis, or treatment was EVER applied at the time of enrollment or within the waiting period for pet insurance. In fact we had our insurance for nearly a year before an emergency occurred. We felt relief that at least some of the expensive emergency bills would be covered. After all that’s the only reason why we decided to invest in insurance for our two active dogs. Well to our surprise Pets Best barely covered anything. Pets Best’s policy justifies their lack of coverage due to a pre-existing Bilateral condition. Interesting news to me as my dog has NEVER been diagnosed as having a pre-existing condition in fact he had a bacterial infection due to a scratch on his side. I should have realize this insurance company could apply any non-evidence based diagnosis they want to a beloved family member all while taking money from said family while they fight for their puppy’s life... Pets First (an alternative pet insurance brand) is the only pet insurance to not include bilateral conditions as a pre-existing condition. I’ll be saving myself money and peace of mind by switching over. I’m sure my one year old GSD will receive another scratch at some point in his hopefully long and fulfilling life, we’ll be glad to know our money is protecting our best interests over corporate deadlines.

App does not work, Customer Portal does not update status of claim, claims duplicated, extremely poor telephone availability. Starting to wonder if I chose the wrong company.
