You would have to be on hold for a while to reach someone; and it takes a long time for a claim to be reviewed.

I’m not sure that the cost is worth it. The cost of pet services in Miami are high and the wellness policy doesn’t cover all of the expenses. For example, the plan only pays $100 for dental cleaning while the vets I have called charge $300-$500 for a regular annual dental cleaning. Pet’s Best provides no guidance with finding a vet that offers services at the rates they reimburse. Vets are cooperative with price checking and all require an extra exam appointment before doing a cleaning (I’ve already just done that at another place). To be a better value, the company needs to be a ground shaker and organize themselves like medical doctors, insurance companies, pharmacies, etc. But you’re just on your own to do all of this work.

Hi, Insurance is meant to help you with the unexpected, broken bones, urinary blockages or cancer. Wellness is not insurance, its a benefit meant to help you offset the cost of what you would be spending whether you have insurance or not, so its not going to pay your full bill for these wellness visits.

The time from claim submission to claim review was 12 days, pretty poor! Then there's their mobile app... I couldn't figure out how to submit multiple invoice pages on a single claim with my iPhone, so I submitted page 1 as a claim then submitted page 2 as a separate claim making both claims incomplete and despite an instructional email explaining the hack, they couldn't get 1 and 2 together so I had to go to a desktop computer with a scanner and resubmit. I guess in the future I'll need to use a third party scan app to create a single file to upload; or, they could contact the programmers that created Healthy Paws' mobile app and make their app more user friendly!

When the insurance premium was cheaper, it covered more. I received more money back through the insurance claim. Now the premiums are higher, it covers left. I don’t like when The insurance increases yearly.

I feel like the more wellness appointments I go to the more it’s costing me. I turn in receipts of shots and it only covers like 1 total.

Pets Best must add optional full dental coverage above and beyond a yearly cleaning and dental exam!

Hi, our primary BestBenefit plans cover dental extractions due to trauma, reconstruction of the canine teeth, and coverage for periodontal disease if the pet is receiving regular teeth cleanings. If you are interested in having a portion of coverage for routine dental items such as teeth cleaning, you can add our BestWellness endorsement plan, which is an additional $26 per month or $30 in WA state (this plan has no deductible or co-pay). This will allow you to help pay for those dental visits you'll need in order to fully leverage our periodontal coverage.

I was very disappointed with what I got back from Pets Best for my Sophie‘s spay for a bill that was over $1000 all I got back was $154. I know my coverage says that I would get 150 but with all that has to be done in order to spay one would hope that more would be covered. There’s bloodwork, examinations etc.... I have friends and family with other insurance companies that got the bulk of their spays covered. I might have to start shopping around for a new insurance company.

Impossible to speak with someone. In two separate occasions , I have been waiting for one hour when calling about a bill. COVID-19 is not an excuse since these are phone calls. It is very upsetting and time consuming to wait for that amount of time and at the end having to hang up after spending all that time with no help.

Very affordable but extremely difficult to get ahold of anyone and they’re not the best at following up. It could be due to Covid staffing, but not sure. Took me 5 months and so much back and forth just to get reimbursement approved. Still waiting on my check.

I've only had PetsBets for a few months now. I took my new kitten to the vet and paid ~$170, but Pets Best would only reimburse me for $60 of it for the Wellness part of the plan (his microchip, vaccine boosters, etc), but not the rest because I have to hit my $250 deductible first. Since the Wellness plan overall costs more than what I got reimbursed for, I am considering canceling his insurance since I'm paying more for the insurance than what I paid in vet bills. He's an indoor cat and very young, so I may consider getting it again when he's older, but right now it doesn't make sense. Also, the time it takes for them to process the claim is very long. It took them 3 weeks to get back to me saying they're giving me $60.

The wait time to get someone on the phone is almost an hour and I’ve had the service for almost 3 years and I’ve been using the wrong form so I’ve never gotten a reimbursement my vet finally clued me in on which form to use for claims

Was good until my last EOB. Someone who reviewed my Bill messed it up totally. The did not know how to read the bill. Your person mixed up the procedure with the wrong $. Check you records. A Neuter does not cost under $40 while a chip costs several hundred $. No excuse.

The turn around reimbursement was awesome but with the amount I’m paying I thought the supplements for his arthritis would have been covered.
