Regardless of claim, they are very slow to process and always come back needing additional information. I am still waiting for a claim to be processed and it’s been over a month.

I have had several visits that should be covered per EOB. Prescriptions too and then receive an email informing nothing is covered. I will NOT renew a policy. Pets Best is superb at taking my money not so superb at paying claims.

It took 44 days to process and pay an ordinary claim. After researching complaints about Pets Best, some clients have contacted the BBB about this very same issue of taking an unreasonable amount of time to reimburse funds. I have read where this has been an issue for nearly two years. You simply can't blame Covid, lack of employees, etc. for this amount of time. I called at least five times and got the same run around, with the same excuses. In my opinion, This company is poorly run and simply wants to delay paying claims as long as possible.

I'm currently experiencing a problem getting an item on a claim re-reviewed. There is no communication and they have exceeded the time I was to wait for the review. Losing confidence in Pets Best.

It seems like nothing is covered under this insurance, it takes forever to get your claim is processed, and even when it does, very little of what we spent is processed. I’ve tried to call customer service with questions twice, and I waited over 45 minutes before finally giving up.

Hi, claims are processed based on the policy you select upon enrollment. Its possible the claim was not denied and it was applied to your annual deductible. Very disappointed. I plan to cancel my membership as it is useless. I've been paying $30/mo thinking I had sick/injury/accident and wellness. I filed a claim and get $95 of a $700+ bill to neuter and microchip my puppy. A supervisor, Tamara called me back after I asked the representative to request a call back. I've now canceled, plan to file a complaint with the BBB and let everyone I know how horrible my experience has been. If I could give a ZERO I would for lack of customer service and lack of understanding of the policy. I spoke with someone before I selected the policy and decided to go with Pets Best over other pet insurance companies.

I've paid more for the insurance than what I would have just paid for my dog's vet appointments. What is the point of this insurance?

Honestly not worth the money. Wouldn't even cover my dog having to have a tumor removed. I don't know why that doesn't fall under a pre-existing condition though.

They ask for proof of payment on every 'paid' invoice you send, take 3 weeks to process and then barely pay you anything from a claim.

In the two years I've been a customer, my premium has nearly doubled. They've declined certain claims as pre-existing conditions, when they weren't, and even denied my appeals that included letters from my veterinarian. I will not be renewing my membership and discourage anyone from giving this company their business.

Yes, prices will tend to go up as your pet ages. Much like in human health care, an older person is going to be more expensive to insure than a younger one. Similarly, a pet's chances of becoming ill will increase as they age. The insurance premiums are designed to reflect this increased risk of illness. Rates are based on pet's age, breed, and cost of veterinary care in your area. You'll be happy to know that prices do not go up because of your pet's personal claims filing activity. We notify you 40 days prior to renewal to let you know what to expect and renewal is 12 months from your enrollment date.

I am not pleased. I was under the impression that this company covers actual pet costs. I had my dog neutered and they only covered $20 out of the $600 I spent. I pay the maximum for the maximum insurance. It is not worth it

Hi, wellness is not reimbursed at 90%, wellness is reimbursed based on a benefit schedule which is clearly outlined on our website, your quote form before enrollment and the documents we email you after enrollment for your review.

Quick to bill you but incredibly slow to reimburse. If you don’t pay on time your plan gets cancelled but they sure take their sweet time. It’s been almost 60 days and I’m still waiting. The staff is friendly but unable to answer my concerns for reimbursement because the claims department is unreachable. Would switch insurance carriers but it would place my dogs condition to preexisting and won’t be covered so now I’m stuck. Expensive monthly premiums as well. You’d think you’d get better service for the amount you pay.

Slooooowwww! Almost two months to process claims. And then they denied much of my claim because the meds were routine although the only reason I got them was because the cats were sick. I’m going to look for other insurance but they might all be bad.
