I would certainly recommend Purplebricks, could not be simpler. You get the same exposure as you would using a traditional estate agent but cost is far less. We dealt with Richard Leaman, very professional, knows exactly what is is doing. He has been excellent and managed to negoiate on our behalf and managed to get an extra £5000 above the asking price. He has always kept us fully imformed of developments within the chain and everything has run smoothly

Terrible experience with Purple Bricks from start to finish. The house I have recently purchased was being sold by Purple Bricks and unfortunately the owners also used their conveyancing services. It was so bad that some staff weren't aware of the completion date and that I was selling my house therefore in a chain. Communication was dreadful and no one seemed to know what anyone else was doing. Be warned - if you get a cheap conveyancing/solicitor deal you get what you pay for!! I was very close to losing my buyer due to the apalling Purple Bricks conveyancing team.

A Purple Bricks Nightmare Where does a nightmare begin? My Purple Bricks nightmare began on 17/05/17 when I made the mistake of inviting one of their so-called ‘experts’ into my home to discuss selling my house. The Purple Bricks ‘expert’ valued my four bedrooms, double bayed, three floor house at £125,000. It eventually sold for £105,000. This led me to believe that a) The ‘expert’ was over enthusiastic (and shouldn’t be doing the job) b) The ‘expert’ was clueless (and shouldn’t be doing the job) c) The ‘expert’ deliberately over-priced my house to get me to sign the contract, knowing he could then sit back safe in the knowledge that Purple Bricks would get their £948.00 fee and he would reap his reward. I did get four pieces of advice from the ‘expert’ .“Reduce”; “Reduce”; “Reduce” and “Reduce” (see c above). As the weeks turned into months and I got more desperate to sell the house and move closer to my children I did reduce - £120,000, £118,500, £115,000 and £110,000. The photographs had to be re-done twice due to sub-standard photography (take on a pocket camera, the photos made the rooms look dark and therefore smaller than they were according to viewers). The floor plan had to be re-done as the ‘expert’ had made the bathroom look like a horse trough attached to the back of the house. The ‘For Sale’ sign that was put up on the fence kept blowing down in the slightest wind. I requested it be removed and attached to the wall. It was put up on a different part of the fence and kept blowing down. There was some concern over feedback when some viewers had said that they had posted feedback and I hadn’t received it. I got in touch with the helpline and they said they would pass the problem on to the IT section. No one ever got back to me. The months passed by. Spring turned to summer; autumn to winter. Ben the ‘expert’ did give me one more piece of advice. After 8 months he rang me and informed me that Purple Bricks were a dual agency. He suggested that I engage another Estate Agent to sell my house. He obviously had as much faith in Purple Bricks selling my house as I did. The date approached when I would have to hand over £948.00 to Purple Bricks’ credit company Close Brothers Retail Finance as per the 10 month deadline. I had had to sign up with Close Brothers when I signed up to Purple Bricks. Strangely enough, on the day before I was due to have £948.00 taken by direct debit from my account by Close Brothers, a buyer emerged and offered a very low price for my house. I managed to up the price to £105,000. £20,000 less than the Purple Bricks ‘expert (???)’ had valued my house. On 20/03/18 Close Brothers took the £948.00 fee by direct debit. (remember this for what happens later). And so the conveyancers Premier Property Lawyers took over the next stage. I had to sign up to these when I signed up to Purple Bricks. Bear in mind that the buyer had sold their house eventually with Purple Bricks and were signed up to the same conveyancing firm. There were no problems or hidden surprises. The people who wanted to buy my house, had a buyer for their old house and a mortgage agreed. The person who was buying their house had already sold his house and was having to live with his parents whilst the farce dragged on. I said I would move into a bedsit or flat whilst waiting to move into the house I’d set my sights on. No long chain. No unforeseen problems. No sudden revelations. And yet it took ten and a half weeks from me agreeing to the offer to my handing over the keys. A long drawn out affair with no apparent reason. It was the three people who were involved in the house moves that finally said 1st June 2018 would be the completion date. If we hadn’t been in contact with one another I don’t know how long this would have lasted. So 1st June arrived. I handed over the house keys. End of nightmare? No. No. No. Premier Property Lawyers took their fee out of the Proceeds of Sale. They also decided to take £948.00 agent fee to give to Close Brothers, despite having evidence that I had paid Close Brothers by direct debit ten and a half weeks previously. Lucky Close Brothers! I sent dozens of e-mails messages and made phone calls trying to get my money back. Close Brothers didn’t reply to 8 e-mails. Purple Bricks seemed unable to help. Purple Bricks post sale team continued to say they would ‘chase Close Brothers’ for the money. Premier Property Lawyers seemed in no hurry to reimburse me for the £948 that they had wrongly taken from me. Since Premier Property Lawyers had made the mistake, I would have thought the decent thing to do was reimburse me and then chase Close Brothers for the money themselves. Instead I was left with the worry of not knowing when I would get my money back or IF I would get my money back. Finally, on 18th June, Amy from Close Brothers rang to say my money would be back in my bank account on Thursday 21 June. On Wednesday 20th June, 2018 my £948.00 was returned to me. No apologies from Premier Property Lawyers. At least on 20th June, 2018 my Purple Bricks nightmare was over after 13 months and 4 days.

Dreadful company it took 19 days to turn up with a FOR Sale board when they did it was to late as far as I was concerned and asked for a refund minus any reasonable costs that I had paid in advance £849 to them this was refused the relationship has broken down with the local agent. I have had lots of communication with this company with promises that a manager would be in touch this never happens and to add insult to injury I withdrew my property as I did not want a company like this handling my property on the withdrawal page in red lettering informing me that I had deferred payment and that they had my credit card details and they would take payment when in fact I had paid. DREADFUL COMPANY it looks as though I will have to take advice on getting my money back

Simply terrible - I can comment forever, but want to make each review different and simple. One phrase - AVOID - USE AT YOUR OWN PERIL - These people do not understand the concept of customer service.

Have been dealing with Alexander Booth with the sale of my mothers property over the last few months. There were quite a few problems and issues that arose unfortunately but the service and personal service I got of Alex were second to none! He was very professional and nothing was to much effort for him he went the extra mile for us so many times! The property has now sold but I am sure without his vast experience and commitment it wouldn't have. Once again thank you so much Alex .

Where do I start?!? They trap you straight away, either pay up front (with no refunds whether they sell or not) or pay later but be trapped into using their overpriced solicitor. Property was on the market for two weeks before I noticed the ‘estate agent’ hadn't set the property up properly so it wasn’t coming up in potential buyers searches. The property was on for several weeks and we only had one viewing from a person who was not in a suitable situation to buy our property, we then put our property on with a local estate agent, five viewings in a week and sold at full asking price with the local agent. I think it is unfair I have now had to pay two lots of estate agent fees as PurpleBricks did nothing but have had no response from them when I tried to raise the issue. It’s very telling that for an online company it is very hard to find reviews on them (I.e. no google reviews), they obviously know the kind of service they offer. I have spoke to a few people related to the property market since and they have all said to never use PurpleBricks.

Extremely poor service overall - the advert was incorrect and the pictures were poorly done Sent email(s) that were never replied to No contact from PB for weeks on end Not at all the service level I was sold but it would appear once you have paid their interest disappears Several months later property still not sold and now going with a local agent

Despite what tv ad says it is totally online - it was impossible to get hold of agent other than via the web site - he didn't even have an answerphone on his mobile. Opted for deferred payment so had to use their solicitors who were totally disinterested. Rec'd an offer and after 4 months no sign of a date for exchange of contracts even with no chain on either side. Just didn't bother chasing up responses from buyers solictor and took up to 8 days to send me the replies/further questions. 6 months on and sale has just fallen through so on an empty property I have had 6 months of mortgage payments/council tax and utility bills all for nothing and now I have to start again. When I told agent I was going with someone else he was totally disinterested, afer all I have to pay fee anyway so what does he care!

Like most people I checked a review site . Trust pilot !! All these reviews are fake . A review goes on there every 20 mins and is misleading for us . I got sucked into to paying the 1100 quid and still. It sold my home . Took it off the market and went to put it back and I was told to pay another £1100 !! Trust pilot needs to sort this out as I don't believe they have sold over 44000 houses in 4 years . Beware of PB

Our contact with purple bricks was very good. Harriet Lamb was very thorough and informative and resulted in getting a sale on the second viewing. Would definitely recommend

Currently buying a house and the vendor has used Purple Bricks. Firstly the 'property expert' (I use that term loosely and sarcastically!) tried to DEMAND our mortgage details & proof of deposit without even telling us if our offer had been accepted. Then when I refused he got short with me and tried to argue. I have bought houses before so am not clueless thanks. Every time they call and I try to call back I can never get through, the 'team' are always busy.....not really a big enough team then is it. Already dreading the process and only bought the house today lol....

Would be a minus if I could , agent does a hard sell flaunting all reviews on trust pilot , then when I cancel in cooking off period (which she would not confirm I had one ) become quite rude , . I came home and they had still put a for sale board up without my consent . Going through a solicitor now as they also sold my details to other companies . Getting lots of rubbish though the door saying my house is on the market . But it never got LIVe !!! Can only have been from PB . Stay clear and stick with a local estate agent .

Sorry but these aren’t estate agents take no notice of the annoying ad, nothing but problems over and over again, first agent on signing up had left and didn’t inform us until I text him weeks later, passed over to another guy who kept telling “me” to chase up solicitors and buyer. Didn’t pay upfront and told had to use their solicitor services, £450 more than a high street conveyance firm. Photos are paid extras, as is the accompanied viewings, So yes, Gareth is right, that’s a huge commission for online solicitors

Mis-sold us our property. Advertised as a 4 bedroomed and should have only been advertised as a 2 bedroom as the 2 bedrooms upstairs had never been through building regulations and were not fit or strong enough to be classed as bedrooms.
