“And yet AGAIN terrible unreliable service. This is not the first time tracked delivery was not delivered despite someone being at home. I was awaiting my Covid testing kit- I don’t think I have to tell anyone how important it’s is to have it delivered on time. Delivery meant to come between 10:30-2:30 yet at 8:30am I receive an email saying that item was not delivered because nobody was at home! This is outrageous. Do they even knock ?? Happens again and again. I am disappointed so badly.”
“Sending out 'signed for' post, half gets delivered within 2 days, the other half takes a month. Presumably if the first attempt fails it gets thrown onto a heap and forgotten about. This is to mainstream adresses and businesses which are open 6 days a week. Ridiculous.”
“Posted an item on Track 24 signed for service, paid almost £6 for the small item to be sent, dropped the item on a Friday morning, tracking shown as item received at the drop off point, on the Monday still showing the same, contacted Customer Service (there's a misnomer) to be told it hasn't been scanned and as a consequence they have no idea where it is. You couldn't make this up. Appalling service (or lack of it).”
“is 16:30 and I am still waiting for a package that was supposed to be delivered in 1pm special delivery. I have other work to do, so Why do I have to wait all day for this? Royal Mail my item is a special delivery 1pm guaranted Why not deliver on promised time?”
“Delivery guy doesn't bother to ring the bell I'm sure, drop a rwd card through door and runs away. One delivery missed earlier this week and one today when we were home. Never have had this problem with other postal /parcel delivery companies, very rare maybe. I don't understand why businesses use this service. Its been happening for years. We had their sorting office near the house before we moved to eastend of Glasgow. Now their sorting office is several miles away. Usually long queues. Disgraceful.”
“I'd say dont bother jet again not arrived I paid for next day delivery email confirmation said they attempted oh really was home all day and no card left. Please”
“The delays are getting beyond stupid now - this isn't an issue to those who are working on trying to delivery properly, but having recurring problems that are just not getting sorted. Post keeps being sent too far out of town instead of post offices within walking distance that I can access as a disabled person. Delays have been increasing at fortnights at a time, to the case where even a supposedly 'first class recorded' and 'next day delivery' package can often disappear for over 2 weeks (whilst some very cheap 2nd class post & junkmail can end up barraging my door within a day of it being posted!!). Had many occasions where not just one item, but several, will get delivered to me that doesn't even have my address on it, getting me worried my post have ended up going to someone else that is not as altruistic as I am. It's all getting very monotonous and very difficult to justify - but I'm stuck into paying postage for bad service whenever I make purchases elsewhere. Am even having to just keep my door open just in case the postie decides to be too early or too late in the morning (sometimes it can end up being even late in the afternoon before receiving anything - I mean WTF?!) It's incredibly deflating and impacts on what I do on a day-to-day basis. Royal Mail is by far one of the most overpaid stealth-privatised institutions that like other businesses following their model, have shown the same worsening systemic failures that is now just assumed to be tolerated because of their seeming monopoly on the UK mainland, as well as international postal providers whose packages end up in Royal Mail's hand because they don't have a branch of their postal service in the country of destination. It is an absolute sham with more hot air than service!”
“I booked a redelivery for a gift for my future daughter in law and it was supposed to arrive on Thursday but it never arrived I called royal mail and they said that it would arrive today on the 11th of June but it has not arrived today”
“I just do not understand how a company as large as this appear completely unable to provide the service they offer and more importantly charge for. I sent a letter registered post. Recipients indicate to me letter did not arrive. Tried to check on Royal mail tracker this morning at 06.55. Site responded with the message ' Sorry, we're currently unable to confirm the status of your item with reference NYxxxxx' Please try again tomorrow' ( are they joking???)...Just to put this in perspective - It was announced in January of this year that Simon Thompson is now CEO Royal Mail with immediate effect, picking up a £525,000 salary, 13.6% pension allowance and potentially bonuses if the company makes any profit ( should be easy if they charge for items they do not provide) and meets performance targets - none was paid this year, but recent bonuses have boosted Royal Mail CEO's pay to around £1.5m per year.
Previously Simon was Managing Director of the NHS Track & Trace app. If it wasn't tragic it would be hilarious”
“Why bother texting a really large time slot like 'your parcel is due for delivery between 11.42 and 15.42, allow me to wait all day only to find out when I contact you that the package hasn't progress, oppsy. But don't worry you can wait around all day tomorrow when we might decide to deliver it, you're a joke and no wonder talk of privatisation is rife”
“Error all the time on your page. You do not now my address but deliver mail here every day. I have lived here for years and the property is not new. Your website is inadequate unhelpful and not fit for purpose. Re-directing customers to your site is disingenuous and not customer focused Royal Mail goes from extremely useless to a waste of time. Also you are to unable to call me by my name”
“I wish I’d read all these reviews before posting my large letter with 24 hour tracked.
The letter contained important blood samples for tests I was already anxious enough about, without the added stress of them potentially being lost in the post.
Tracking as others say, is useless. The recipient eventually informed me my package had arrived, several days late, but the tracking was never updated.
I will definitely not be relying on
Royal Mail for anything important again. It’s not the first bad experience I’ve had - some birthday cards never got delivered a few months back too.
I feel for everyone who’s suffered as a consequence of their poor service.”
