“I had a crack in the windscreen. They palmed me off to auto windscreen who told me I’d have to wait a week to get it done. They then brought the wrong windscreen TWO hours late. Several long phone calls later they have said I’ll have to wait a further TWO WEEKS to have it replaced. Shocking, shocking service.”
“A further update to my comments made earlier in this forum/Reviews, I was contacted by a Customer Relations Executive from Saga who stated that the one claim made that was on my renewal policy should not have been there and it was a fault of theirs, this is what increased my policy with my new insurance company by another £89. 73 he was also sending me a letter stating that I had not made a claim and for me to send it to my new insurance company perhaps they might waver the excess. He also offered me £30 in compensation which I declined at first but accepted on second thoughts so that I could send it to Pudsey, Children in need.
All of these problems I have had to deal with while looking after my wife who has had Dementia for nearly ten years unable to walk talk or feed herself plus I am 84 years old myself. Not saying much for a company that is supposed to cater for the elderly”

“I have had nothing but trouble with Saga home insurance. The service used to be so good... I usually write good reviews but not this time.
I was pushed from pillar to post re underwriters etc and eventually Insurance was agreed. I was told the money would be in my account within 2 days. So I went ahead and paid over for my claim. I’ve had a call informing me that Saga is not covering this, the small print was very ambiguous and they now say that the money would be in my account ‘pending authorisation’.
I would have not gone ahead with the claim if I’d have known this earlier.
Saga, I am disgusted with you service.”
“I had a problem with a builder and you basically weren’t interested in helping me ,you made an excuse stating that my original building work was in excess of what you cover even though I only wanted to claim a small percentage against the builder”
“Phoned Saga to tell them I was changing my car which was on an 8 week deliveryand asked for quote on new car, which they gave me. In the meantime my old car came up for renewal, so I renewed that insurance and told them my new car would be ready in about 2 weeks and could they again confirm quote for the new car, which again they did. When I collected my new car and asked them to update my insurance they quoted an increase of more than 30% on their two previous quotes and refused to honour either of their previous quotes. I told them that I would never use them again, but they didn't care.”
“Went online for a quote for home and contents insurance for a second home. Quote was £266 per year after disclosing full details of 2 claims in last year, NOTE have lived at our current address for 31 years and have made 4 claims in that time. Phoned Saga to check that all details were complete and pay. After an hour of further questions we were told that we would have to pay about £440 for the year because of the 2 claims even though we had disclosed these online and that quote was issued at £266
Really disappointed with 5hus service and would not recommend using Saga to anybody, eventually took the policy out with another insurance company for under £300!
Felt nottreated fairly and the quote did not reflect the fact that we have only made about 4 claims in 31 years but paid 31 years of premiums”
“£25 admin fee plus £25 amendment fee is beyond unreasonable. It has in effect cost me £50 to change my registration number as there was actually no increase in cost from old vehicle to new vehicle.
I would cancel immediately and go elsewhere but that would result in a £50 cancellation fee, so I will wait now till policy expires but will DEFINITELY NOT BE RENEWING, due to these unreasonably high and unjustifiable additional costs.
I’m old but not rich or stupid. Get it sorted SAGA.”
“Dear Sir or Madam.
I am sending you this email to let you know how disgusted I am with Saga Insurance it was bad enough that you did not pay out on my claim on the 21/10/2018 for escape of water saying I was not covered but now I have lost my no claims bonus on my building insurance and it has cost me an extra £ 89.73 to insure with a more reputable company, you stated that I had made a claim in the last five years on your renewal documents that was sent to me. A very disgusted and disillusioned ex customer of Saga.”
“Requested three times a paper copy of my car insurance, at the time of taking the insurance on line I requested a paper copy and twice by phone, still not received a thing. I won’t be renewing with saga, if they can’t do a simple thing like this what would they be like if I need to make a claim?”
