“I carried out a lot of research before purchasing my Shackleton Lockroy Parks winter jacket, including trying on various jackets from different companies. In my opinion, the Shackleton exceeds Canda Goose because it's 100% waterproof and also exceeds the Arc'teryx winter jackets. The Shackleton is a class above all these and more, you'll need to try one on to see why. Although not cheap, it's an excellent well made and extremely comfortable, cozy jacket that I love wearing on cold days. It'll not be my last Shackleton jacket....!”

“Lockroy Parka has been an excellent buy - very warm, some thoughtful features throughout like the press stud loops to allow for easy fastening with gloves on, huge fleece-lined pockets and variety of pocket options. One area of improvement could be the hood and a press stud option to fasten it back when not in use as the rim tends to come forward and press into back of head otherwise.”

“Amazing coat, this is the best insulated jacket I've had forget North Face does not even come close. You pay for quality and this is what you get, can not praise the company enough excellent communications and excellent delivery times. If you want a jacket that looks good and stands out from the rest worth spending the money!!”

“While many of the Shackleton products are styled beautifully, I don’t see it as a fashion brand. It's an expedition equipment brand! That means the high price you pay goes into the very best in quality, design, practicality and longevity. You'll also be wearing something unique that will actually work at keeping you warm, while also giving you freedom to work, hike and explore in any weather at any temperature. Together with quality equipment the delivery, pre & post-sales support are first class.”

“Jacket is good but I don’t think it would, work in the Arctic, the zip is very hard to do even without gloves, I’ve tryed it without gloves, and it doesn’t sit right, I wouldn’t like to try it with gloves on”

The Rothera is designed as a mid-layer, meaning it can be combined with heavy duty parkas and waterproofs to extend expedition-grade protection. “Sweater came with a one year warranty. A small hole appeared on the underside of the arm and I was advised that it could be repaired under warranty. I spent nearly £10 returning it to be told that I’d caught it on something and caused the damage. The position of the hole would make that very difficult and there is no loose threads which I’d expect. I’m expected to pay £30 (including return postage - generous) to get my item back. That would mean a spend of £40. What is the point of the warranty? I’ve purchased seven Shackleton items so far and I think that might be it now.”
