I went to the Stroud store for a new pair of spectacles having had an eye test there 5 months before. I chose two new frames from the 'buy one, get one half price' selection and almost immediately ran into questions from the assistant about where on my nose I rested my glasses! I stayed with my choice because what was on offer wasn't that great but found myself in a tedious and overlong examination of my gaze combined with endless questions about how long I spent on screens of all types (and books). I found myself being steered towards having two types of lens on the basis that you now apparently need a pair of glasses for screen use and a pair for reading (and I'm sure they'd love it if you agreed to another pair for phone as opposed to computer use). Having finally escaped, I decided overnight to phone and say I just wanted two pairs of specs to the same specification which reduced the price by £50, because, of course, two different lenses are two different prices! A week down the line, expecting my new glasses any day, I got a call that the overzealous young man who sold me the glasses wanted to do some procedure beginning with ablation.....I never found out the whole story but assumed this was another gambit aimed at selling me more sets of glasses at double the stated cost. I was infuriated and cancelled my order immediately. They did at least refund without asking why. Beware of dubious practices with these people. Never again.

Specsavers on Lonsdale, North Vancouver provided a comprehensive eye test for me as a senior, at no charge. Service right across all staff was professional - excellent.

From a flickering light whilst waiting, to the first test being undertaken in a space where people were coming and going (ie not private), to the broken chair and the ineffectual person who tried, through mumbled breath, to upsell every option, I left feeling underwhelmed and a bit annoyed. Optometrist was great I have to say but the chap before measured my current glasses incorrectly so it all felt a little disconnected and unprofessional. Would expect a better service given the prices. They are not cheap.

I ordered bifocals having ecplained to the optometrist then I have been using fixed long distance glasses for driving and tv/cinema, but can't read the car fuel guage, and also work with an audio mixer with a screen at about 75 cm distance, and need both this and the stage in focus. The optomotrist recommended bifocals and I have been trying them for a few weeks but for driving ahead vision not good almost the same as not wearing glasses, sizeways looking at junctions, out of focus, as is looking in wing mirrors. So useless, and even potentially dangetous gor driving, their principal use.

Photochromatic glasses developed wave-like artefacts on the surface second time in a few months. They can't fix it.

My name is John legge and I wrote a review 2 days ago regarding the poor level of service I received at the Clacton on Sea Branch . I have since received a phone call and invited to return to the Branch this morning 27.07.23 at 9.30 , I met the manager a young lady called Teala , she had my glasses frames examined in the repair department and then offered me a new pair of frames . I have to say Teala has restored my faith in Specsavers , this young women has excellent social skills and a very professional approach to customer care . My new glass frames are perfect. Thank you Teala . Kind regards, John Legge

My name is John Legge , I bought a pair of glasses from your Clacton on sea Branch , 68a Pier Avenue . CO15 1NH , on the 24.04.23 . I visited the branch this morning and explained to the assistant Mr Joe Twinn that the lenses keep falling out . He told me it was a design fault and nothing they could do . He offered me a 50% discount on new frames , I told him this was unacceptable , the frames are only 3 months old . I think this is sharp practice selling frames that your staff freely admit to having a design fault and I expected better from Specsavers. John Legge

Normally I have good service from Stockport Specsavers. I have no complaints against the optometrists who are highly qualified and professional. Yesterday my appointment was at 11.25. At 12.30 I was still waiting. I was told I was next but I started to have a panic attack. I would have walked out if it wasn’t for the thought of having to go again. The manager apologised but I’m afraid that’s just not good enough. In the meantime my husband had to move the car from the car park we were in as he’d run out of time. In the middle of all of this my husband had an accident in the car. The manager said he hoped he was ok. Surely the very least I could have was an explanation of why I had to wait so long and a follow up call today to see if I was ok. A lady with the same appointment time went in ages before me and she arrived later. The system is flawed. I’m really unhappy with the lack of information as to why I had to wait more than an hour. Other people have complained about the same thing and nothing has been done. What’s the point of writing reviews if things are not rectified?

In the last month I've had 2 hearing test appointments cancelled. Today it wasn't so I drove the half hour to get there to find out the appointment had been cancelled again but this time they didn't let me know so wasted time, wasted petrol & wasted money on parking! They didn't even offer another appointment, I had to ask. I got home & rang the doctors to ask if I could go somewhere else & told them why & the receptionist said she'd been there the week before for an eye test & her appointment was also cancelled. What's wrong with this place? They're useless!

My husband had his NHS hearing aids serviced. When he got them home the earbuds were wrong size. He couldn't get in immediately as he was in hospital so went on 2 weeks later. Has been told he needs to make appointment which is unnecessary. St Austell branch only has audiologist one day a week so he would have to go to Truro

I bought two pairs of reading glasses. I had to wait ages for the correct prescription for one pair as i was convinced to get occupational ones,. which meant going back several times until they got it right.. I thought fair enough.. I then broke my glasses.. arm fell off ..OK probably my fault, so more money. Then I lost them, ok im a nurse and on a busy shift... So I had one pair left which I hardly used.. I got them out and found out both of the lenses had come away.. Not to worry, I thought..go back to specsavers simple repair job.. Surely as they get the lenses into the frames right, when you first order them... However, I was told I needed a new frame.. Then they told me I'm due for yet another eye test.... Huh, no thanks I told them.. surely they should offer you some type of insurance or guarantee when you buy these glasses...?! I just feel like ive bn throwing money down the drain!! SO from now on, good old pound shop or amazon for me! And they last so much longer!!

Went too Specsavers Wolverhampton got my eye test done picked my glasses and was willing to pay over three hundred pounds for glasses only to be told I couldn't have the glasses I picked as they don't do my lens's for this frame (I only get single vision lenses) so after an hour wasted I left and will be going to a local optician who don't waste your time.

Just had my eyes tested at home the Specsavers team Gaynor, Dan Nd Jim were fantastic. They put me at ease throughout the procedure and, while fast and efficient they took great care. I have PTSD and can get quite anxious. I only discovered the home service quite recently and am very pleased with the outcome; thank you Dan, Gaynor, Jim you made an old man very happy 😊

I went for an eye checkup at Specsavers in Islington and I can say that both the Manager Marcus and the eye specialist, Doctor Sabrina, were amazing! She was very professional and kind, I received a very detailed and accurate eye check, an OCT, nothing was left behind. Together with all the technological tools at specsavers Islington they deliver a very satisfying customer service. Ask for the Manager Marcus, he is a very professional and skilled advisor. At specsavers Islington they also have a great choice of glasses. Highly recommended!

I wanted a new frame style (nothing wrong with my lenses) Had to take an eye test and they said my prescription had changed and said I really should have varifocals. I decided against it because they are expensive and I don’t need varifocals with my old spec savers glasses picked/waited/collected my new glasses and they seemed fine. I understand that with new shaped frames it can take a while to get used to the new glasses lenses because they’re different shaped and whatnot. Wore them for a while. Didn’t get better. I can see distance but can’t read in them. I took them back and was told “ we told you to get varifocals, you can either buy whole new varifocal lenses or buy a second pair for reading only” ( more money) so I said forget it. I’ll wear my old glasses (perfect all round vision and bin the new ones. What a waste of money.
