“The worst possible way to book a taxi -NEVER DO IT. They let me down the night before at 10pm for a 12 person mini bus and as you can imagine ruined our weekend as a result. THE WORST part is you can't get hold of them and they honest do not care - DO NOT USE.”
“DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
THEY ARE SCAMMING THIEVES.
A taxi was booked for my elderly father to take him from the airport to home.
The link didn't work and nobody picked up the phone at "Customer Service". Their email bouced back.
My elderly was left stranded at the airport and it took me ages to get him home.
I wish that I had looked at the reviews before booking. The reviews are horrific.
I have reported these con merchants to the police.”
“A TOTAL RIP OFF. They don't advise you in advance of their cancellation terms. The maximum you will get back if you cancel is 55% of the amount you paid upfront and the least you will get back is 10%. If you cancel the day before the journey or on the actual day of journey you will get nothing back!. You have to read their full terms and conditions to find these terms. It's under item 7 of their full terms and conditions.
These people are just bookers and pass the job on to a local taxi firm where you live. Taxicode are based in Holland!.
You have been warned”
“Obviously didn’t do enough research. Not a taxi, but rather an Uber like service. Scheduled a ride to St Pancras the previous day. Ride was 20 minutes late.”
“Absolutely shocking. Booked the taxi and they take a week to get back to me when online it states 24 hours, but then take the money but cancel it 2 weeks before we needed the taxi. Re booked again, waiting for a confirmation but because they didn't confirm once again I cancelled the booking because it's unreliable so when I email for a refund ( and read the cancellation policy I am eligible for a refund ) they email back saying they can't refund me- although they would of cancelled it anyway because it's been longer than 24 hour confirmation and now stopped replying to emails. So unreliable don't bother.”
“PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
REAL SCAM
Never answer phones.
Paid upfront and the booking was canceled and didn't give me the full refund.
Just LOST MY £197
please do not use”
“Tried to book 3 minibuses and an executive car to take guests home from our wedding. Paid in full for all services, over £600 in travel costs, and thought the booking was complete. Several weeks later, and quite close to our wedding date, they cancelled all booked services stating that 'Your chosen operator has been unable to fulfil your booking on this occasion'. However, it seems to happen EVERY OCCASION you book with them.
I was also not refunded for one of the minibuses and had to chase them to get them to refund it.
Obviously they never intended to provide us with a service, and sent us email confirmations which aren't even worth the megabytes they're written on. Joke of a company, DO NOT USE!”
“I booked 2 minibuses to take us to and from a busy 2 day music festival and I paid up front - a total of over £400.
After booking I realised this company is a taxi broker. I had thought I was dealing with a local taxi company so on realising I wasn't and having only had a confirmation that I had made payment and that they were trying to secure my booking (and that probably there was a chance in hell that they would be able to), I decided to cancel.
As it was a full month before the date of travel I expected a full refund but their terms and conditions are that you only get a 55% refund (and the closer to the date of travel the less it gets).
So I lost over £200 to these ***** who did absolutely nothing for that money.
And if you think that if you only pay a deposit you'll be OK, think again because they will charge your credit card for the difference.
Learnt my lesson - always read the T&Cs re cancellation policies!”
“Do not use this site. They are a set of thieves. I canceled a booking within minutes of booking it when I realised the extortionate price I had been charged. (About £50 more than the usual cost of the relevant journey). My account showed the booking an d there was an option to cancel. So minutes after booking I cancelled the booking (which was over a week away so no one had incurred any expense or loss as a result of the booking) I subsequently received a 10% refund. When I looked at the pages of Ts and Cs on the website I saw the cancellation terms are buried in there. Something on the account page next to the link that ‘invites’/makes cancellation possible, directing customers to the cancellation terms would have been nice. Incidentally when reading the Ts and Cs I noticed that (even though you have to pay an extortionate amount up front) they don’t guarantee your taxi will turn up, so in effect I’ve been made to pay £80 for a taxi I cancelled minutes after I booked it, which they had no obligation to provide anyway, if I hadn’t cancelled it!!”
“Hi,
I have booked journey and on last minute driver was not arrived.
I was not told that driver isn't available and I was on wait in airport for more hours then expected.
I had to book uber driver later myself.”
“Avoid!
I ordered from taxicode.com website a taxi from Durham to Oxford and received a quote to which I’ve ordered accordingly.
They then unilaterally doubled the price to without coordinating with me. They informed me of this from a no-reply email address.
I did not agree to this increased price, which I informed them by email I found on their web site on the same day, 30 minutes after receiving their email.
The ride was assigned to Oxo Cabs. I subsequently talked with Oxo Cabs, and they say that they refused this assignment because it is not in their range.
I traveled with a different company on the desired date, for a much lower sum.
I phoned taxicode twice, and left messages asking for them to call me, which did not happen. About 10 days later they claimed by email that they did provide the service. 2 weeks later they still have not refunded the sum that they unjustly took.
Our email correspondence with them was full of lies on their part.”
“DO NOT USE. This is a SCAMMING Organisation. There is no intention to provide you a service. They will hope you request a refund BEFORE the date of your requested driver, so you are subject to their Terms and Conditions in which states you may only get 10% back! Best approach is to wait it out until day of service and get the FULL REFUND when the driver does not turn up. Do not be fooled by the fake reviews. This fake organisation has no shame from the request right through the the customer service, they disgustingly trained to SCAM customer.”
“Awful! please do not book with Taxicode. They are a 3rd party based in Amsterdam. They send confirmation and acceptance emails but noone shows. They take your money but it is fraud! DO NOT BOOK!”
“They cancelled via email with us twice. One taxi and hour before pick up from airport and then our wedding van the day before. We then cancelled our 3rd booking with them and only
got 10% refund. (ii) If you cancel your booking between 11 days to 30 days prior to the Journey date in your Booking, you will be entitled to a refund equivalent to 25% of the value of your booking.
