Spent over £1700 on a sideboard, couple of lamps and a clock. One YEAR later and the sideboard just arrived this week after threatening them with court action. The lamps and clock...still not here. And like everyone else....you guessed it...no refund allowed. Don't know how they get away with this.

Ordered a sofa on 9th June and told it was UK made and quoted 4-6 weeks delivery. Now being told its not due to them until mid September-15 weeks after order. They wont refund deposit. Absolutely shocking customer service.

I placed an order for furniture in october last year.... guess what!!!! 10 months later ,still no furniture. I paid when i placed the order ... big mistake.. As the other customers are saying they will not refund your money, only offer store credit which is absolutely useless if you dont need anything else... They told me they always have problems with that supplier, but have opened a new showroom in Braehead and on display is the a piece of furniture that they said they can't get. I too have contacted trading standards, the guy said next time he is talking to them he will bring it up. To me that sounds like he talks to them quite a bit.. I wonder why ??? To all those who are thinking in purchasing anything from this company.. think long and hard.. these reviews are from real people with a real problem

Customer service thats a joke delivery we’re still waiting and that’s from December we’ve been told they won’t give us our deposit back DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY

Terrible customer service!! Sales people promise delivery dates just to hit their targets then they don't even bother you to tell you that delivery will now be 10 weeks instead of of 4. No wonder they have deleted the reviews from their Facebook page- says it all really. More and more people leaving reviews on other sites dissatisfied with the service and lack of refunds. Hide behind their Terms & Conditions and won't even return calls when you want to speak to a manager. Will never use again and will tell everyone I can about my terrible experience with them. I only wish I could give zero stars instead of 1. Cowboys!

Worst experience ever, bought furniture for room, told it would be here mid August, 10 weeks from purchase fine, I enquired if still on target date, to be told nope container issue won’t get till end October. Visitors coming with no suite to sit on. Request cancellation as Miss sold household items told nope, poorest customer service with no concerns that I’ve got nothing in house for guest arriving. Told no refund. So now I need to buy new suite. I will not take delivery of the one from The Designer Rooms in October. Bought plenty from them over years, certainly won’t be back after this experience. Would advise anyone not to buy from them. 🤬🤬🤬

You'll never get a refund. My 83 year old parents purchased 2 seater leather couch, 3 seater leather couch, leather chair, leather footstool. TV stand large cabinet all living room. Unfortunately due covid we have gone back forth numerous times. Today is 17th phone call. Probably 20/25 emails, contacted trading standards. Initially problem ignored then Castalan came did Repair 1. Stuffed settee cushions and left chair. Said wasn't in his chit. Contacted Designer Rooms... Repair 2. This was waste time. Engineer said couldn't repair... Manufacturer default. You sit cushions settees... Slide into sides couches. Unsitable. Your ribs get crushed. Called today spoke Joanne already spoken Kim and email just received... Yeah you guessed it Repair 3. Seemingly Castalan now sent spare parts to fix 2 x settees therefore 4 sides. It's a joke. Couldn't tell me if spare parts coming Vietnam. Told Joanne we'll be lucky this sorted 2022. Waiting game. Phone call into Castalan we were told unrepairable but drainer rooms insisting Repair number 3. Who knows where parts coming from, how long and when all this furniture will be able to be sat on. Unsatisfied

Bought two beautiful settee's November from Lorraine at Rotherwood, grey drayton, over 2k so not cheap.Finally arrive in April, seat cushions did not fit, sit like little pyramids, one is a different colour from the others, despite numerous emails to customer service agents have received nothing but apologies and thanking me for my patience, we did have a visit over two weeks ago from a 3rd party resolver who verbally agreed that the seat cushions were not a good look and were not of the correct size. However, here we are, almost three weeks later and still no satisfaction. I think it reasonable to expect if you buy any settee no matter the price the seat cushions should fit properly. I am so disappointed in the service or lack of it we have received from DR customer service, I do not believe they have ever taken our complaint seriously and just hope we get fed up and go away, Not sure what to do not next but probably will have to take legal advice, cant believe that such an established and well known local company think it is ok to treat our complaint with no obvious sign of concern.

Ordered a sofa and paid extra for my colour and higher grade leather, paid in full almost 2k. Told 3 weeks later than my colour was in fact discontinued and i was to, over the phone, accept a 'similar colour' and agree to it. I refused this and and said I would come into store and see the new colour myself. When i seen the new colour it was considerably darker and also the higher grade leather i paid extra for was now going to be a standard grade, with no refund of the extra cost. I said no to this and requested a refund. This has now been nearly a week and still no refund. Told manager would be of all week so I am now looking at a minimum 2 weeks for a refund to even be processed, but that depends if the manager actually returns next week. Will probably have to go through the bank for this and the customer service advisors I have spoke to could not care less if they tried.

BEEARE!! Absolutely shocking company and service. Took 5 months for delivery after being told it would be 8 weeks. No correspondence during that time to update me and won’t answer emails. When it eventually turned up I was given 24hrs notice of delivery. When it was delivered it was not set up or put in place. When I got home and put it together I discovered the end chair was not a finished end but had black cloth and brackets. There was also a missing cushion. I called to advise and was fobbed off and getting no response to email. I’m guessing they have their money so tough. I also contacted them to voice my concerns on their social media, but was quickly blocked and still no response to rectify. Will never use them again.

Customer service in the Irvine branch appalling. Picking up a piece of furniture that I purchased 2mths ago still not there. Was told that she was fed up with people moaning as it was not her fault. The couple who were being served in front of me had came down from Glasgow for the third time was told there was no point huffing and puffing. The customer advisor was terrible. Definetly not like thein Kilmarnock or Ayr who are wonderful. I won't be back and I want my cash back.

We bought a table from the Ayr showroom when it arrived as the delivery men were putting it down we heard a rattle when it was unwrapped two mirror tiles had come off and on closer inspection the mirror underneath it was damaged which led us to realise it must have been damaged before we bought it as the tiles that were covering the damage were still intact, I phoned customer services after explaining the situation I was told that we bought the table sold as seen as the tiles were covering the damage how could we possibly see it was damaged they have told us that they will glue the tiles back on and no compensation take it or leave it so much for customer services

We recently ordered a bed and furniture for our new home and had to cancel it due to unfortunate circumstances. Our furniture was not due to be delivered until December so it was cancelled months in advance. We paid money towards our furniture and have said we are happy to spend the money we have paid in store rather than get a refund. However, customer services are refusing to give us our money on a credit note unless we pay the remaining balance of our cancelled order even though we were told our order would easily be sold to someone else as they are still for sale in store. The way we have been treated by customer services is shocking! We are still no further forward with getting our money on a credit note and have been told they will keep it unless we pay them more money. Customer service are now not responding to my emails to resolve the matter.

Apologies for using the Irvine store empty car park Friday 25th October whilst visiting the busy nail salon next door a smile goes a long way, such a rude assistant thought I was going to get six of the belt or 100 lines just a shame you had not such efficient staff back in 2015 when I had to wait 6 months for a suite it took you 3 month to decide you had not the colour I ordered in first place, decided then I would not purchase again this confirmed it Perhaps a Private Car Park sign from the proprietor...…………………..

thanks for getting in touch, we always take feedback on board and will be speaking with the store in regards to how you felt you were treated, please accept our apology but unfortunately we only have 4 parking spaces at our Irvine store and these are reserved for our customers, as you have pointed out we currently do not have a sign stating that parking is for customer use only and have made the decision after you feedback to get a sign placed in our carpark

Wish I read these reviews before buying from the Irvine store. Or any of the Designer Room stores it seems. Extremely rude staff after purchase and non delivery of items. I see it as borderline theft in dealings with supplying faulty goods and being returned with no refund given, or in their words “we check consumer advice daily and don’t need to refund faulty goods”. Now they have the item I bought returned to them and are unwilling to refund my money. Calls to the store are sometimes answered with excuses made and promises to phone back never ever fulfilled. Like other reviews here I wish I could give zero stars rating. I hope this review helps others not to make the mistake I did in ever stepping through their door.

Absolutely disgraceful customer service from Kilmarnock store which I can only imagine is the same at every other Designer Rooms store. There returns & refund policy is a disgrace, attitude of staff is much worse. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS STORE !!!!!!!

My mum and I have both spent thousands of pounds in this store. My mum ordered a console table that would be 6-8 weeks. When she went to collect they have said it will be 13-14 weeks. The way the manager spoke to my mum was absolutely disgusting!!! He was so rude and didn’t even say as much as sorry. I have never experienced such poor customer service before!! He refused to give her her money back even though they did not stick to there agreement!! I will never spend another penny in this store and will make sure people know of my bad experience!! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!!

Never Ever buy from this shop!! Rouges in disguise. Customer service non existent once they have your money. I'm reporting this to consumers advice, but should be the Police. Purchased a console table beginning of may. Due to collect middle of June. Phoned McKinnon Mills store where purchased, to be told another few weeks for delivery. Went into store yesterday, which was 2 weeks later. Female advised another few weeks. Unhappy with this, I asked for the manager. He advised it would not be another few weeks, it would be August. As he had not kept to the agreed delivery of 6- 8 weeks i wished to cancel my order. He became aggressive and spoke to me In an unacceptable manner . He suggested i was told delivery time was 8-10 weeks. I advised him August would be a 13-16 weeks delivery time. Also discussed this was different information that was given from assistant 5 minutes ago. Shrugged his shoulder and said he was planning to train his staff ,so they were all giving correct, same information. Said he was new to store. Further false information as he sold me a table and chairs some time ago. Then said he had been off for some time. He would not honour the 10% discount that was on throughout the store, as a gesture of good will, and would not give me my deposit back. He suggested the delivery time is approximate, and advised me I should have read the small print on the back of order form. Then In a most unprofessional manner said if l left a bad review it was only because I wasn't getting what I wanted. SORRY, I only want what I paid, for in a timely manner. He further smirked when advised be he wouldn't refund my deposit after the 10 weeks as they were allowed some leeway. Disgraceful way to run a store, and treat a customer . I have spent thousands of pounds in the store. I will NEVER spend a single penny there again. And will tell everyone I know about my experience, and never to shop in this store.

sideboard arrived 8pm after sideboard arrived they noticed a door was missing, Item taken away again, arrived next morning with sideboard, Doors on it this time, they left then i noticed 0ne door not lined up so it would not shut properly, so i phoned shop where i got it, they told me to phone Ayr which i did, the woman said it would be after Christmas now before they could send someone as shop was shut but they would phone me when shop opened and arrange for someone to sort it, Im still waiting for the call, that was a year and a half ago, Dec' 17 and i spent over a thousand pounds on sideboard and lamp table to match.
